PAPURI! is the music arm of the Far East Broadcasting Company-Philippines, and for more than four decades has been propagating the message of the LORD in the vernacular, Filipino.
I have heard so many beautiful original Filipino gospel songs from various awesome composers, and I just want to say that these two are my personal favorites. I am saying this without intending to offend any composer (who are mostly friends of mine), so please don’t take offense po, after all, the message is all that matters and how it speaks and ministers to us.
“Yaman Ko’y Pag-ibig” by Jungee Marcelo talks about ones testimony about selfish aspirations only to find out that Jesus’ love is more than enough to suffice his whole being. “Kailan Pa Man’ by N. Arnel De Pano, on the other hand, shares the message of completely relying on the LORD, putting our trust in Him, and forever declaring about Christ’s eternal love for us. These songs were part of my 3rd album outing called “Langit” (Heaven) produced by Emmanuel Music (producers: Arnel De Pano/Maldwyn De Pano, 2005). I recorded this as part of Risse Santos’ fundraiser and so this time around, allow me to share it with you all.
