When it comes to horror movies, the kill count always rises when a drooling, acid-blooded Alien is involved. From the first Ridley Scott Alien 1979, to James Cameron Aliens, David Fincher Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Prometheus, Alien Covenant, the Alien vs. Predator films and beyond, the Xenomorph has proven to be among the deadliest monsters in movie history, leaving a trail of deaths in its wake wherever it goes. The Xenomorph lifecycle makes the Xenomorph biology especially deadly to its prey, beginning as innocent Alien eggs, hatching into the deadly Alien facehugger, erupting into the Alien chestburster before finally growing into the full-fledge Xenomorph Warrior, Xenomorph Drone, or one of the dozens of other Xenomorph types that make up the alien biology. From the evil Alien Queen to every other Alien type, the Xenomorph biology explained a lot about why they’re so deadly, but not a lot of intel on How to Kill Xenomorphs.
H.R. Giger designed the Xenomorph for the original Alien movie as a bio-mechanical monstrosity, and over the years we’ve seen plenty of killer Xenos chow down on humans as the Alien body count rose in the Alien series. No matter how many kills you want to list from the movies. Even the AVP movies, Alien vs. Predator and Alien vs. Predator Requiem or AVP Requiem, have plenty of Xenomorphs killed by the deadly Predators, without the help of Sigourney Weaver Ellen Ripley. Even though Ridley Scott has made AVP noncanon, it still offers some clever example of Xenomorphs getting owned, and features the debut of the disgusting Predalien. When it’s Alien vs. Alien, Xenomorph vs. Yautja, all bets are off. After all the deaths and body count racked up by the malevolent Alien, this scary sci-fi slasher icon has ensured that when moviegoers think about Aliens, they’re thinking of the Xenomorph Aliens.

Maybe the "weakness in numbers" thing kinda makes sense. If the xenomorph is alone, it knows it need to preserve itself in order to continue the species, and will be more careful. But when there are lots of them, they know than can use their overwhelming numbers without fear of dooming the species if they die. Its actually frightening how intelligent the xenomorphs are implied to be.
Also, the only reason why they fell so quickly was because the marines and predators had the necessary equipment to kill them. So if they didn't, they probably wouldn't fall as easily. Not to mention that they had to lower the horror aspect as time went by.
Another reason might be feeding. The 1979 original ate all the food and nutrition stores on the Nostromo, aiding its rapid growth. Presumably the Dog Xenomorph did the same thing to the prison's stores. The swarm in Aliens and the clones in Resurrection had to share whatever they took while being very active against larger groups of Humans.
I think it was because there are a lot of them so the movie directors made it easier to kill them.
If you mean the Xenomorphs in Aliens, this is because the Pulse Rifles and Smartguns uses explosive tipped bullets. This is why the Xenos explode when they get hit. It was also stated the Colonial Marines also uses armor piercing bullets. Don't believe the Xenomorphs being killed by modern day weapons since a Xenomorph in Aliens took an entire clip from its carapace when Gorman shot it with his pistol. The bullets were reported to be bouncing off. So those modern day weapons would be useless.

People who read this: I have a question, If a Xenomorph, a Predator, and a Terminator became one fused creature, Would anything be able to kill it?

Difficult to say. we've seen the Predator/Alien hybrids before in game forms, as well as in AVP Requiem (though the whole "making chestbursters from pregnant women" still feels like bullshit). The question becomes which terminator blends with that one. Obviously, the 600 and 800 series wouldn't work so well, since the only thing it could add is a metal endoskeleton that, while providing heavy armor, would reduce its mobility and speed to the point where it would weaken its potential, making it even easier to kill. A T-1000 type would be the best bet, with both mobility, camouflage, and even more extrasensory capabilities. If the 3 way hybrid of this type would exist, only extreme cold conditions, like the liquid nitrogen or the vacuum of space, would be considered effective, but since it could form metallic extensions with ease, GOOD LUCK! Aliens was my introduction to the Xenomorphs, and that movie is still my favorite in the series.
I believe the problem with the number of aliens vs kill-ability boils down to this: when they hunt in a pack, their abilities are less honed, they don’t need to be as bloodthirsty or intelligent because they hunt in packs, like wolves.
When they are alone, they need to adapt to survive, like a panther, using stealth and intelligence to outsmart their prey. They don’t have the advantage of having numbers, so they must change hunting habits to cope with that.
Just a thought, though.
I actually just done reading about ALLLLLLL of the Xenomorphs! The one in Aliens 3 is so rampant because it was a product of a dog so it has the baseline of a crazed dog. It stuck with the hive mind concept Ripley being the mother she assumed the role of Alpha. Worth a look!

So in other words, when the Xenomorph gets controlled by a Queen then they are Canon fodder, but without queens one alien is sneaky and deadly?
The problem with this video, is it isn't well researched. The reason the Xenomorphs in Aliens getting killed by Colonial Marines is due to the Pulse Rifles and Smartguns firing explosive tipped bullets which explodes upon contact when they hit their targets. This is why the Xenomorphs explodes in Aliens. The Colonial Marines are also known to use armor piercing bullets. My info comes from Alien the Weyland-Yutani Report and Aliens Colonial Marines Technical Manual which gives details on the weapons used by Colonial Marines.

The weakness in numbers could be explained by a sub species as said in the video but it could be that the swarm is a group of younger xenos. They are still deadly and perfect hunters but the older they get may mean they get sturdier
The first movie xeno is basically a newborn though.

In the first alien the alien was very stealthy. Allowing for fast and easy kills. Plus the crew had no guns. And in many numbers they are easily noticed. Also in alien 3 the overseer of the security in the prison said that there were no weapons of any kind in the prison. Ripley even asks why are they running security for the prison with no weapons.

I used to be scared of everything when I was a little kid. Scared of the dark, monsters, my toys(after watching toy story). And when I was 7 my parents took me to see Alien Resurrection, which I thought would scared the living s*it out of me but I actually loved it and couldn't get enough of them.

Ridley Scott only created the Prometheus/Covenant storylines because he didn't want the Aliens franchise to be tied to the Predator franchise in any way, shape or form. So I class his Alien prequels as non-canon spin offs.
The crew in Alien had no weapons. So of course 1 xenomorph is going to rip threw them.
Imagine the marines didn't have any weaponry when the hordes of xenomorph came at them? Marines wouldn't stand a chance.
The premise on "no weapons" from Alien, was used again in Alien 3.
So when it comes to one group of Xenomorph being stronger/weaker, they're pretty much deadly to human life even in their weakest form.
As for the AVP universe. I like the backstory of that, than the Alien prequel stories that Ridley Scott has pulled from his backside.
David Savage I think what’s messing up the prequels is that fact Ridley wants to explore the entire universe instead of only focusing on xenomorphs whereas fans just want an explanation as to where xenomorphs originated from then he threw in the engineers in Prometheus and that made fans even more intrigued so now he has all these theories and plots to do: xenomorphs origins, Engineers origins, when did humans become space bound, etc

When it comes to fans wanting to know the Xenomorph origins, I think fans are only fascinated with the idea of wanting to know. The Xenomorph seemed deadlier when less was known in my opinion. I don't mind there being an origin but it's how and why Ridley is going about it that has angered me and a lot of fans.
On Ridley wanting to explore the Alien universe without the Xenomorph, why even call it an "Alien" movie? I made a mock picture of David's face with the title saying; "Android".

He wanted to move further away from the Alien/xenomorph world with Prometheus but fans complained they didn’t get answers about the xenomorphs and Covenant was made (impo) as fan service. Ridley has even said himself that the Prometheus sequels were gonna go further and further away from the Alien franchise originally
Blaming Alien Covenant damaging the Alien franchise when AVP did way worse when they had the Xenomorphs on modern day earth and nerfing them by having them killed by modern day weapons(the pizza boy with a handgun is just stupid). Not to mention the Predators in AVP are dumber than the crew of the Covenant. Lets start with how the AVP movies portrayed the Predators being dumber than the crew of the Covenant. The temple setting sounds cool on paper. But in reality, it's impractical due to the fact it provides an opportunity for kill stealing. Imagine yourself a Predator having fought hard and killed a Xenomorph. Then a D-bag Predator comes and knocks you out and steals your kill. Because this happened inside the temple, the Elder Predators wont see the dishonorable deed done by the D-bag Predator. And the AVP movies portrayed that the Predators have been conducting this Xeno hunt for thousands of years. They should know how dangerous the Xenomorphs are and that they themselves are not immune to facehuggers. Yet they didn't even bother to scan the dead teenage Predator if his carrying a chestburster before putting him in the ship. So either the Predators don't have Xeno Quarintine Protocols or they're just to lazy and stupid to scan the corpse despite the fact they've been conducting these Xeno hunts and should be aware that they themselves are not immune to facehuggers. And we saw the consequences of these Predators in AVPR when the Predalien emerged and was killing the Predators inside the ship. One Predator even shot a plasma caster and caused the ship to crash. And AVP2010, we saw the Predalien took multiple hits from a plasma caster with little to no effect. That Predalien even got submerged in lava and was shown to be fine. So the Predator firing a plasma caster at the Predalien crashed the ship for nothing. The Xenomorphs in the AVP movies have been nerfed since it shows Alexa impaling and killing a Xeno using the Predator's combostick. This is stupid since the Xenomorph in Alien got impaled by a harpoon and got blown out of an airlock. Yet that Xenomorph still survived and was trying to get back inside the Narcissuss. So I call BS on Alexa killing a Xeno by impalement. She should've been dead. But the plot nerfed the Xeno. Then AVPR happened and had the Xenomorphs getting killed by modern day weapons. This shows that the Strauss Bros phucked up. The Pulse Rifles and Smartguns used by the Colonial Marines are explosive tipped rounds. This is why the Xenomorphs in Aliens explode when they get hit. Let's not forget the Xenomorphs couldn't take over the town fast enough since modern day weapons can kill them. This makes Ellen Ripley's statement of the Xenomorphs taking over the earth laughable since they can easily be killed by modern day weapons. This is why I say AVP did more damage to both franchise. It especially did more damage to the Alien franchise😧
When I played A.V.P game I saw the bersker pointing at me when the aliens came at me I see red marks on them so I started to think the predator bersker controlled them

Alien. The original film was my first alien experience and it scared the crap right out of me when I was 10 years old I didn’t get a wink of sleep thinking the alien was in the corner of my room or that a facehugger was going to latch on to my face. I’ve watched all the alien films but none of the sequels come close to the original’s creepy grim aesthetic.

*Note- The genetic 'memory' of the Queen/Hive adapts to it's environments and the 'resilience' of it's host 'colony'. Hosts with ranged defenses will cause the hive to adapt with speed, stealth/subterfuge, armor, ect.
Additionally as the hive grows, so does it's ability to foster 'majors', mutations that have specialist duties such as elimination of hostile threats/hosts outside the hive, hive guardian and royal caste 'majors'. If a host population is large enough, a hive may even grow to have multiple laying queens and an empress (the hives alpha queen, sort of) to lead hive defenses and raids on host populations.

My first Alien movie was the first one (1979), then Aliens (1986) and that's pretty much it.
If your first experience isn't Alien, I think the development of one's perspective is skewed.
Aliens has a higher body count for the xenos because they are fighting warriors, not truckers, and they have good guns, as you said.
Fun fact, I used to love Aliens SO much that I could continue all the lines of the movie if you quoted me a part of the script. Not anymore.

Idk if the books are still canon but on chapter two of Aliens: Earth hive, some scavengers (i think) find a ship, they speculate it has no oxygen because it's been floating for 60 years, they blow the hatch and there's an alien inside, alive and well.

My first movie was Alien Covenent and I loved the idea of creatures who take the traits of their host
First one was definitely Aliens. Favorite is Alien. Prometheus is definitely a little underappreciated, and Alien: Covenant is aight. Have not seen Alien 3 or Alien: Resurrection, or any of the AVP films.
