Second is that this device will work for next 7 years with updates, not like tv where you will get one update in same year they produced tv and then they will introduce next system 😅. 3rd, you need to consider that All these things are working flawless there, you Can use a Phone to operate, AirPods are connected instantly. I have a projector and with Apple TV this is an amazing combonation that allow you to Watch and play games with your children with connected game pad
A huge plus for AppleTV is how easy it is to use an antenna indoor trainer with ZWIFT or Rouvy. Maybe not the detail and FPS as a high end gaming computer but you can be up and pedalling in less than 20 min.
We have a 65" Toshiba Fire TV, it only has 4 gigs of ram and 100 Megabit ethernet so it won't hold all our apps and freezes all the time . We tried plugging in USB external memory which didn't work. So the Apple 4K TV with 128 GIGs of ram and Gigabit Ethernet was the best solution, it won't run out of memory and the Ethernet benchmarks at 960 Megabits.

It’s also a smart home hub with newest technologies such as Thread & Matter that also allow it to seamlessly connect with third party devices with Google Assistant and Alexa - key selling point you missed out! Additionally Apple TV works with PS and Xbox controllers
Even the brand new 2023 $3000+ TV's still wont have apples ad free , lightning fast, interface/UI built in. I do own an ipad for face timing , but everything else i use daily is PC or android, and I prefer apple's setup on my Sony A95K. Plus the screensavers, and Dolby Vision over streaming with Ethernet are unmatched compared to the others. I guarantee once you experience the apple TV setup after using the others, you won't be disappointed, even if you're not an apple fanatic.
Sorry, but I strongly 9:52 disagree. The Apple TV is one of the best devices that Apple produces! It is worth every penny and has completely changed the streaming experience for me. I can't believe that I waited so long to get one. We have 2 of them and cannot imagine using the TV now without it.

I have used Roku (my tv has it built in) and Amazon Fire TV.. Here is my results. The TV has been the better experience of those 2. I LOVE how I can just search for a show, and it will find what it's streaming on. Time saver for sure. However, they have 2 massive downfalls. The lag is just unreasonable. I mean it's awful. I watch youtube videos and see how snappy apple tv is I went ahead and bought one. I mean how smooth it is, and how comically overpowered the cpu is on that thing.. just wow. But the apple tv does a lot more then you mention. You kinda shrug it off as a "apple kinda way" and "apple ecosystem" totally omitting that apple watch works with apple fitness to display on screen data during your workout. Something the competition isnt really doing yet. You also missed that the apple tv has picture in picture basically. You can view your apple home security cameras on it and get information like if a person rings your door bell it may recognize them and tell you who is at the door before anyone has even said anything. This is really a big deal. I would agree that if you already own apple products especially an iphone, or an apple watch then this may be a good choice for your. Because it works well with them, like really well from what I see on youtube. I would also go to say it's more worth it at the price tag if you do not already own a previous model. The reason is because it feels like less of an improvement then not having it at all. Feels like you get more for your money that way.
After years of using, I fianmly dumped Firestick 4K max and switched to Apple TV 4K. Firestick couldn’t keep up with latest updates, speeds, and apps. It continues to crash. On the other hand Apple TV works like an iPhone. Fast and smooth.

It's because of EU rules that apple had to switch away from lightning ports to usb. They could theoretically just use usb in products for sale in EU countries but given the universality of their products that isn't going to happen.
I read an article that pointed out apple statement that it would essentially be a gimped, very slow version of usb-c that just barely qualifies as usb-c... unless you buy their USB-c cable & charger.
Most app developers build apps for Apple TV but they don’t build for all platforms. My Roku TV is lacking certain Apps and so did my Amazon Firestick. Apple has the least amount of advertising as well making for a nice clean user experience. Apple will allow 3 party apps on Apple TV under regulation, which gives me piece of mind. For me Apple TV is a no brainer.
It converts high quality multichannel audio to lower quality on my remuxes. It's really a shame it doesn't have audio pass-through like the Nvidia Shield.
I have an LG G2 65" OLED, it has all the apps on-board. I still run AppleTV 4K Gen 1, and Amazon Fire Cube 4K 2nd Gen. Why? Because these boxes produce a slightly better picture than the native apps.
I enjoyed mine until I upgraded to an LG OLED C2 television and discovered ATV is incompatible with it. If anyone has a solution I would love to hear it. The TV will not recognize the HDMI input.
It could be your hdmi cable. C2 and apple TV 4k will need HDMI 2.1 cable, not the older version. To test this theory, just try the cable from Xbox series X or PS5 or borrow one from your friends/neighbour.

Here’s where the Apple TV fails. The Netflix app is complete garbage. Heavily outdated. Not to mention Apples ridiculously high standards for apps which is why they don’t get the new features that other streaming devices do. I used an Apple TV for awhile. The picture was AMAZING but the Netflix app just killed it for me. Apple and Netflix clearly don’t get along and it shows.

No, I’m sorry, but we buy top of the line televisions, and none have the streaming capabilities of an Apple TV. If you don’t want your money to go wasted, on your high end purchase you better get an Apple TV.
My iphone 14 pro max clicks odd pictures, after clicking selfie and main camera pics, it adjusts to more greyish, and yellowish . Seems that it proccesses them . What you see before clicking does not come in the picture... Very dark and greyish

On god Fire TV sucks ass, too many ads. Apps freeze, sometimes it takes ages to load, just not a good product.
