I got 3 of these and happy to report all have stayed completely dry inside after numerous rainy days and a few snowy ones. I just added the flap doors for the upcoming deep freeze. Hope my TNR colony uses them during those days.
Success. Victory. Assembled and out on my deck.. If necessary, a long bungee cord wrapped around the house and the post. So they are not flown out of Kansas. That would be Massachusetts in my case. A very nice well built house. This is not over priced. If you worry about price, make one out of a foam chest.. Not very big. However even just one of these can make a cat happy. Make yourself one out of a large ice chest. So much work and extra things to buy. Time consuming. Looks better but the cost is high. Buying this already made house actually saves you money and time. My Husband and I built 40 feral cat houses. All donated to feral colonies. An extra large bin, insulation around that, a wood shell around that and covered with heavy duty tarp. We put two holes in them and I found that the wind blew through the house even thought the holes were not in alignment..So to fix this we built a large base for the house to sit on and we put slanted boards on the ends. We called these the Cattilacs of feral houses. So, many hours of planning and different approaches were needed. But pride and the happiness of helping the people, who took care of the feral colonies, was far above the price. Whether the price you pay or the manner of the feral house, this is helping so many.
Overall, love my kitty tube. Can tell it’s well made and warm inside. The only downside is assembly requires some brute strength that I didn’t totally have. Had a very hard time putting the top on and ending up breaking it before I could get it on
Hi Kathleen! We are able to assemble some of the Kitty Tube for you, it just changes shipping on our end with the box but you can certainly request it!
Yes, I wish I had known that. It takes a lot of strength to assemble it. I'm waiting for somebody to come and put the top on for me. I would have rather paid a little bit more and have less physical work. It looks like such an awesome product for feral cats and I'm super excited to use it.
Hi, are you shipping in France? Do you have other colors? Green or brown, grey charcoal. Isn’t it too hot in summer (black color)? For food and water do you have something matching your product if we want to make an installation for may cats? Congratulations for your product, love it! 😻 Will post it on my FB wall page for Canada and France. Take care!
My only criticism is that the insulation inside will be scratched to pieces by the cats. There should be an inner liner guard to prevent the insulation from being destroyed.
Installation instructions should have arrived in your parts packet with your Kitty Tube. That combined with the video above will help you with assembly. Let us know if you have any questions!
Can you tie it to anything with a bungie cord? Mine is on my deck, and this was suggested to tie it to the railing. But if yours is out in the yard perhaps drive a stake deep in the ground , or use a small tree trunk, or fence post, and tie it up with a bungie cord.
Nice design, but would suggest some future design changes for feral cats. First, the insulation inside is very attractive for cats scratching and destroying it I would think. Might have longer longevity with a protective outer shell. Second, feral cats prefer shelters with two exits so they have an escape route from predators. Perhaps an upper exit with a flap would work here. Things to consider if spending a lot of money on a cat shelter :)
Hello! Thanks for the comment. The insulation is actually a scratch guard insulation so they kitties aren't able to destroy it. We also only insert one exit as our ultimate goal is warmth for the kitties and two holes unfortunately does not provide the kind of warmth The Kitty Tube is designed for. The entrance is also specifically designed so only a cat or small animal are able to enter, any actual predators would not be able to fit.
One circumstance doesn't dictate every circumstance, and not every feral desires two doors. I have been making outdoor cat shelters for years with just one door. The only "predators" I've ever seen are other cats trying to steal the shelter. I've literally had cats sit and wait for hours waiting for the resident cat to vacate. LOL
Hello! We recommend putting the heating pad on top of the straw as it will keep the kitty warmer, and the cats love to lay on it directly as it is soft! If you put the heating pad below the straw it will not keep the kitty as warm as it will not be able to send warmth through all of the straw.
I have spent almost $200 on this, cannot get handles on. Broke a nail. It may cost the inventor of this a few dollars more but this should come put together. Ive good at putting things together. The handles are Ridiculous to put on. I have already broke a nail. Atleast put the handles on for your customers! My last kitty tube fell apart outside because again it is not user friendly this handles. It should not be this hard!
I am sorry you are struggling with the hand holds. If your Kitty Tube has been out in the cold, the plastic parts can get a bit more rigid. You can try to bring them inside overnight and you should have an easier time installing them. Going in at an angle is key. I am curious how your last Kitty Tube fell apart? We never hear of this. In fact they are known for lasting forever. Please reach out to us at info@thekittytube.com or 715-377-2133 if you would like us to talk through the installation with you.
A contractor wants $100 to come out here. Spend a little money on your customers without extra charges to have this put together. Someone out here is going to do this already assembled.
I am so sorry you are having trouble with the accessory installation. You should not need to hire a contractor to assemble this. It is all snap together parts that go together without any tools. The only parts that need to be added are the hand hold awnings, door awning and vent cap. Please call us if you would like us to talk through the steps for you. The Kitty Tube-715-377-2133
Hi Gene, we do not include another exit as this is built for warmth, that is our number one priority for the kitties. While we understand your concern we also have not had any issues with not having two exits.

Thanks for the instructions. I would have had a devil of a time without them.
Wonderful explanation of setup and well constructed product. Thank you for making such a helpful tool for neighborhood ferals!
The outdoor cats love it. Thank you
Well worth buying. I've bought three for ferals.
So glad they are working out for you!

Just got this, I am so excited to set it up for a few of our community cat visitors! Thank you
So well made and the kitties love it!
Thanks Mary! SO glad your kitties are loving it!
I really want one of these for my cats but they're just so expensive!
Very nice !
Thanks Linda!
I have two of these for my feral cats. They don't like the flaps, but are fine with the awning.

The product is great!!

Take care!
We do currently ship to Canada! Unfortunately at this time we are not able to ship to France, but we will work on making that available!
@@kittytube6013 Thank you very much, lots and lots of success with your family company and love for cats! Blissed you, take care.

Hi Peggy! Our insulation is actually coated with a scratch guard layer to prevent this.
@@kittytube6013 OK, great. This should be explained in the video and in the printed details online.
Hello-just purchased model 4...will you be posting instructions?
Installation instructions should have arrived in your parts packet with your Kitty Tube. That combined with the video above will help you with assembly. Let us know if you have any questions!
@@kittytube6013 I paid man to put together....does the top come off easily so I can clean/and or replace cushion?
Mine came with a 1" foam piece in the bottom. Is this packing material and should it be removed?
Are you sure this is not the floor? You mean just a small scrap of foam or a big circle?
I noticed that you never used the first piece of foam you took out of the box, is that just packing or what?
He put that back in on the top.
I want to purchase this product but I live in an area where high winds are a factor, Do you have a weighted down version?
I live in a windy area as well. I plan to grab a few bricks from the store to create a "retaining wall" so it does not get blown away!

The heater hole looks small. Will the male 110V plug fit through it?
Hi Tim, the heater that we have available on our website will fit through the hole, no problem!
Where does the cord for the heating pad go?
There is a small hole on the lower side of the insulation and Kitty Tube that the Kitty Tube Heating Pad cord fits snuggly through.
Thanks! @@kittytube6013
