Nice gaming headset! 👍🏾 Definitely picking these up for my birthday next month.
i've been working on the raod ever since u hit a 100k , now u at 630k, congrats big dog, been here since 50k keep up the great work , love ur videos and work ethic's.
Thanks for uploading this! Was considering this headset but now I’m definitely buying!
Finally! I've been waiting for your video on this headset. I'm about to pull the trigger on the monitor you have. I always use your reviews before purchasing anything. Thanks for helping my wallet man
What about pulling the trigger on the headset which is the main point of the video? :)
Definitely picking up a set of these. Really dope that it essentially gives you an additional HDMI 2.1 port, albeit 40Gbps as opposed to 48Gbps but still very nice. It gets annoying having to switch between headsets for my PS5 and PC. Gonna use this for the switch as well.
I double checked to see if he misspoke on the HDMI bandwidth and they are 40 Gbps per the Logitech website instead of the full 48 Gbps. However, that shouldn't impact gaming on PS5/Xbox Series.
You do realise that 48GBPS is required for 8K60/HDR/Dolby Vision? No console is hitting 8K and if it did it would be dynamically! Not to mention that 48GBPS is also only niche and needed for 12-BIT colour range at 4K60/120… no TV at any consumer level goes above 10-BIT..
for full DV coverage or 8K60 is what you’d need a 48GBPS lane for! Until then? It’s just numbers that make you feel superior when in fact no one right now needs 48GBPS!
P.S I have a 48GBPS OLED C3 and also a C1, both my series X and V run on the C1 and the C3 EXACTLY the same! Not a single pixel changes proving that 48GBPS IS NOT NEEDED!.
definitely buying this next year for my pc/ps5 setup
This is as usual, an excellent review. I just got a pair of these nice gaming headsets for review too and I'm excited to try all the things. I have to say though, since I don't have aall my consoles on one desk with my PC, this isn't the greatest connection option but whatever.
Still loving my A50's after four years of use.
I'm super surprised you never ran into buggy charging issues on your headset. Not to mention the top cushion on the headband falling out.
when i first bought my a50s in 2021 the top piece fell right out and it kept happening, sent an email to astro and they sent a whole new headset for free since i was under warranty. now the ones i have still work great and i got the other ones as back up@@Turtle-.-
Thanks for this clear and good video review. I might pick it up. 👍
Mine come in this upcoming Tuesday, can’t wait
The thing that I love about my A40's is that I can listen to my pc and ps5 audio at the same time, so if that's possible with this then I'll be picking these up real soon
That's what I'm concerned about, but from the looks of it it only does one at a time hope, I'm wrong.
In the video he mentions that you can game and listen to your phone audio at the same time. This has been a major issue for me as i use PS app to talk to my friends and game on my PC. I have to rely on a 3rd party bluetooth connection that doesnt always work. This will be a nice upgrade.
you can, even if it doesn't work both with the hdmi, you can always connect your pc with bluetooth and still game on your ps5 at the same time
This is a huge selling point for me when buying a headset. Sad that this isn't something that's prioritized in most new gaming headsets. There's no aux port on the base station so I assume the only way for simultaneous audio would be to connect through bluetooth. I've tried this with a different headset and it killed the battery pretty fast with bluetooth on so I dont think id go this route personally.
Can anyone confirm this? I cant find anything about that and its litterally the point thats gonna decide if im gonna buy them.
Would love if someone could help me out here ❤️
I was curious about the astro a50x, i currently have the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro headset. Which are amazing,! But honestly watching this now make me what these instead. Great video 😁
IVE BEEN WAITING for you to come out with a video about these 😭finally 🤣 🎧
Damn, what a throwback those IG clips were 😅 still can’t get over how good that mic is for a wireless headset. When we hopped into that party I was legitimately blown away immediately. Wireless mics usually sound complete ass. Awesome to hear you’re enjoying the headset though, cannot wait to get mine!
Yes mate, was good to get your first impressions when we chatted. Hyped to see what they look like in your setup too 💪
Better Mic then Corsair HS80 Max? This has the MVP Mic in a Wireless Headset and is muuuch cheaper.
How come every video I see, the mics on headsets sound bad, but whenever I look at the comments, people praise it, for example, my friend has a steelseries and it sounds good, but online videos make it sound so trash
OOOOHHHH I NEED TO FINALLY TELL MY WIFE WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS!! 😂
Male sure to tell here very first before Christmas you have 4 more days❤
TBH if I was you I would gotten the Audeze Maxwell it has better Audio plus the battery life is 80 hours were the astro has 15 hours
Great video! Definitely going to consider this.
I absolutely love the ASTRO'S ever s8nce they have come out. It has always been worth every penny. Beautifully done video man. Stay awesome!
Nice gaming headset, ima cop that for Christmas
I didn't know Logitech bought Astro. Interesting
I have been using Nova Pro as well after buying PS5 and found out there is no Astro headset for the PS5 at that moment.
Because back on PS4, I was using Astro A50 as well and really enjoy using it. Can't wait for the release and will buy it for sure.
Thanks for the review
Might have to pick these up 🤔 working across everything is kind of a must now
I really like the base station switching capability. But the hot swappable batteries in my nova pro wireless is a feature I’m not willing to lose. Would definitely sacrifice a bit our sound quality for that.
Totally get that, but when do you need more than 24 hours of battery in one go? As soon as you've finished they will sit charging anyway.
Unless someone is going for some kind of record why would anyone need more than 24 hours of battery?@@SpawnPoiint
It’s much easier to charge the Astro A50x while gaming than it is for the Nova Pro
Plus the game / party chat buttons on the Astro’s are >
I also have the nova pros too and i have never ever needed to swap the battery which was one of the main reasons i bought them. O well sick headset tho
@SpawnPoiint how do they compare to the nova pro wireless in terms of sound quality mate? I'm just interested in getting the best sound quality possible for gaming. Would be awesome if you could do a video comparing headsets in terms of sound quality. Thanks for the awesome content bro
@SpawnPoiint Did you notice any type of Input Lag or Delay while using 2 Separate HDMI 2.1 cables on 1 Console cause i remember there being some issues with that with the HDMI Adapter that you talked about in this video so im interested to know if there was any Input Lag or Delay especially while playing Competitive online games like Call Of Duty?
You just sold me on buying a pair whenever they’re back in stock!
Very good headset but I'm upset that they've got rid of the AUX port as it was a good way to connect with other audio interfaces. I'm sure it'll still be possible to connect to them through the use of some adapters. Looks like a good headset overall though! Thanks for reviewing these!
@@ttvWideShoes USB-C to aux may do the trick. I need to get my hands on a pair and do some tests
No noise cancelling for $380 is crazy. I'll pick them up and give them a try before returning them but i doubt Ill get over that ridiculous price.
Honestly, I have so much going on around me while I'm gaming so the non noise cancellation for me works. Plus the volumes and the comfort are just so superb.
Noise cancellation on headsets are booty tho, open backs for the dub
bro they dont even bother including the hdmi cable that you need to have to run em
They are open back headphones..? Adding noise cancellation too open back headphones what?
Why would you need noise cancellation in a room by yourself? which majority of gamers are in. Noise cancellation also gets rid of certain sounds that you wouldn't be able to hear because of it. Also, I'd like to hear myself speak in a room so i'm not insanely loud...
You put me onto the Steel Series ps5 headset and I’ve been so happy with those but now it might be time to upgrade 😂 these is a real nice gaming headset, now I just gotta justify the jump haha
I have the Sony Pulse 3D, but may upgrade to these. Thanks for the video.
Have you tried the Audeze Maxwell? Expensive but just towers above everything else. 80 hrs battery life. And besides gaming I use it A LOT listening to music. It’s literally a high end premium headset.
stop it... built quality is below average, 3 audeze products, 3 same problems with crinkling foil sound in one earcup after using them 2-3 months when moving them. These products are too over-advertised by youtubers
Can someone jusf clarify if the sound is just through HDMI with this? Im used to having astros with the optical cable for sound. My monitor only has one hdmi port so is this gonna work?
nice gaming headset, i was hoping you to review them i will definitely buy them
Very clean setup man salute 🫡💯
I had no idea that Astro released a new headset until I saw this video! If I knew earlier it would be on my Christmas list…
I used to use Astros but then got disappointed with TWO sets of A50s so switched to Turtle Beach.
Also glad you covered the Bluetooth connection as that’s a must for me as I like to listen/watch UA-cam videos, scroll Twitter when playing more casually and also helps when gaming with friends who don’t have headsets so have to call to communicate.
Super disappointed with my TWO sets of A50s too. Base station was crap, charging was crap, the software was crap. The sound was amazing WHEN YOU COULD ACTUALLY GET THE HEADSET TO WORK. Flaws that shouldn't exist in a gaming headset at the premium price range. Unacceptable.
@@Turtle-.-yeah that’s terrible. I’m sticking with the Turtle Beach Stealth Pros for now having seen more bad reviews on Reddit
@@justjordiano Are they any good? I am looking to switch from my Gen 4 A50's for the reason above. I heard some good things about the Arctic Pro from Steel Series but haven't heard much from Turtle Beach. You run into any issues with them?
@@Turtle-.-no issues at all with the Turtle Beach’s - very good headset. I actually still have the 700 Gen 2 MAX or whatever they’re called. No issues at all there after a few years of use.
Awesome review man and I like your color taste all black damn that’s cool i need to buy it and imagine having a black out headset that will be awesome.
I've been using the A50 for a while now and i can't wait to put my hands on the A50x...
Nice gaming headset. I got mine earlier this week and the only thing that is keeping them from being perfect is the PC USB port not being able to be used on Switch. I'm a console only gamer, and being able to switch between PS5, XSX, and Switch would've been the ultimate headset.
I ran my A50s with the PS5 adapter, like you, I changed them because of pass through limitations and because I didn’t like the need for the base station. I was hoping this iteration wouldn’t have that, especially with today’s minimal aesthetics vibe. I do want a new headset though, the pulse 3ds leave some thing’s to be desired and they’re aren’t comfortable during longer sessions. May try a pair of Steele series out…at least I can put the Nova Pros base station out or sight and requires less space
Steelseries 7P+ are very good, I’ve tried all the ones you mentioned and hated them all finally settled on the ss7P+ and love them
@@SpudMonkey815 I haven’t decided which pair yet, so I’ll def throw those in to compare
@@MrDfromjersey turtle beach? Never had a pair of those, going to check them out too.
@@MrDfromjersey I wasn’t a fan of the stealths, but I only tried the first gen 600’s so the others might have been much better
Good video!. I've been out of touch. Just seeing them now. I'll have to check the out!
I didn't know these existed. I need those features and I am totally buying them I think.
And to be honest the mic sounds very good it sounds like AirPods almost
Nice headset! This all being said. I think I’m sticking with the Nova Pros. The fact I can change my eq from the deck, the battery swap so I never have to charge my headset, and the transparency mode are too nice. I also prefer leather ear cups. Both are amazing just matter of preference!
@@blinkermayor1410 WHOOOAAAA, imagine trying to hate on a GAMING HEADSET video🫥
Fantastic video Chris! If you dont mind? can you please share your audio settings from Modern Warfare 3 with what EQ you use on the headset? Thanks for the vid.
I'd wait a year for price drop and to get the bugs out, that price is borderline insane with the issues it's predecessors had
yea but the garantee of logitech has been always top noch, i had problems with the gen 4 before and they changed them for a brand new ones without any cost
Why am I just hearing about this after upgrading one of my monitors 🥴 these look 🔥🔥 gotta get them
Really wish they went with a 48Gbps instead of 40, that’ll be fine for the XSX(40) and PS5(32) but when the pros inevitably drop I can’t imagine they won’t support chroma 4:4:4, I’m sure most gamers that are dropping this kind of scratch on a headset have a great TV setup. Not sure I’ll be swapping my A50’s and 7X for this just yet. Have they fixed the USB enumeration issues that their firmware clearly didn’t like they claimed?
@@AG-oi9uj the ones before this iteration, same base station, minus the HDMI etc. both headset and base updated to latest and still has the issue lol
@@AG-oi9uj I meant Xbox and PlayStation pros, hopefully they will have the full bandwidth to take advantage of new TV’s
@@aliazimi91 I meant Xbox and PlayStation pros, hopefully they will have the full bandwidth to take advantage of new TV’s
I just got the Maxwell Audezes. They're good, but I prefer that LOUD and Heavy Bass. I'm most likely gonna grab these.
Just change the EQ on your Maxwells, in terms of sound quality, the A50x don't come remotely close.
They're "good"? They are one of the best headphones for gaming, if not the best. Have them since April, and i bought them after 3+ years with A50 gen4. Day and night my friend. Search online and have the best of the Maxwell's. Despite the fact i'm a fan of Astro's, the sound quality from Audeze is superior. Anyway, wait for @GadgetryTech review, he's the best and objective, that's why he doesn't have the new astro's yet, because logitech is afraid of his review, and ofc as a company, they want max sells for their product. Bye
@@cfbones I have. I've increased the bass so much I have to use the volume limiter, which is fine. Yes, absolutely- I agree when they're on they're on and sound 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾. But I use my old wired Beats Studio and they're STILL monsters after all these years in terms of bass and loudness. The Bose, air pod max, Sony wm5's or whatever, and wireless beats can't touch the maxwells or those old school beats. Not a single headphone under $500 comes close to them loudness and bass wise, but they don't sound anywhere near as good as the Maxwell's. I just wanted something with more punch. I've got the Sony Z1R's, but I've gotta get a better amp and I usually just use those to chill out to Lodi and dubstep.
What's crazy is I have the air pod max and air pod pros. Every time I put those air pod pros(the ones right before the volume adjuster came out) and those air pod pros IMPRESS every time coming off any of those headphones sets IMO.
I was interested in these a50's if they were actually that bass-y and loud for a wireless headset.
Plus I just collect
That’s sooooo amazing I’m excited to buy this I’ve wanted a headset that has Bluetooth plus the ability to connect to both that’s so awesome
Just know the Bluetooth connection is to the base station not directly to the headset so if you were thinking of taking the headset out with you to use with your phone away from the base station you're out of luck.
I like the fact you can charge it while it’s in the dock. That’s my main issue is remembering to charge my Turtle Beach Stealth’s
Damn.. I’ve been dropping so much coin on gaming this year and I don’t think I can say no to new astros. $500cdn though
I have the Nova pros (wired and wireless) Wired version has more punch and fidelity, and now picked the Audeze Maxwells. The maxwells are amazing sound and fidelity through and through. Lil on the heavy side...but I'll just have a bigger neck now cause those things are unreal! BT function needs improvement but sound is just... beautiful! 90mm planar magnet saying "come at me bro!" ...ALL other headsets quiver n run with their lil 40mm and 50mm drivers lol
@@SpawnPoiint I think you'll love em bud! Hard to get hands on but amazon has them at moment. The BT function is kind of odd. It's not simultaneous, like nova pro's so when you get a "ding" from phone your game audio cuts off for a brief second then comes right back. They are a lil heavy too but it's not awful. Love your Channel by the way! Keep up the awesome well done reviews my man!
i tried to love the maxwells but i thought they were uncomfortable. they are a great headset for gaming, music, entertainment but they started to hurt my head and i kept on having to adjust them constantly to try to make them comfortable. they can be the best sounding headsets, but comfort is over anything imo.
@@_bchum I added the wicked cushion ear cups and it changes the whole game. But I agree they are definitely Heavy and not as comfortable as my arctis pros. If I'm on my PC doing other tasks in house at same time where I'm gonna be moving about I put on my Novas but if I'm sitting and gonna do nothing but plop in front of my PC then they are my to.
No I've regret buying those there too too too heavy it's like putting a helmet on I haven't used mine for two months they been sitting on my desk and there boring and the app sucks my Logitech pro x 2 wireless headphones are much much better I've ordered these astro a50x they just shipped out two days ago I can't wait there like the Cadillac of headphones or the king happy holidays stay safe and happy gaming to all
Nice gaming headset! Really good review !
Nice gaming headset I already have the Old A50 I use on my PS5 and I was wondering if it was worth upgrading and you definitely answered those questions I will be picking these up .
I've been using the turtle beach stealth pro... and this headset just feels so premium, it does carry abit more weight than others... but, that just makes it feel more premium. I just got the steel series nova pro aswell and that headset just feels so much more cheaper than the the stealth pros... felt like I could break it if I set down too hard by accident... stealth pro also has an app that is so easy to use compared to the nova pro... and the stealth pro also has noise gate, active noise cancellation... whereas the nova pros do not. Turtle beach stealth pros also got a really good feel for the leather ear cups whilst the nova pros feel like a cheap pleather. Stealth pros is the only comparison to the A50 X
Cool headset and I’m sure they are probably the best out there right now but $380 that’s legit more than a Xbox series x at the moment lol , and $100 away from, a steam deck oled I can’t justify that price for a headset at least for myself. But definitely a good pick up for those who need a long term replacement
Well that's the word we live in today every thing is too expensive but I ordered mine they supposed to any day but if you want the best you have to pay but these headphones should be All you need for many many years because you can tweak the sound on your phone app happy holidays stay safe and happy gaming to all
Now all we need is a comparison with the Audeze Maxwells. Please
Oooooohhhhh nice headset...... and now its a must have 🎉. Loved my a40s ps4 they just didn't transfer to the ps5 very well
Ill wait for these to go on sale
Nice Gaming Headset. I'm thinking this is the headphone I wanna upgrade to I currently have SteelSeries Arctic 7P wireless
Nice Gaming Headset! Cant wait to get mines, 🎉 Happy Holidays Everyone cheers 🍻
Nice gaming headset👍
Keep up the good content
Hey I like your desk a lot, what are the measurements for the desk. Love the videos!!
Very good headset but i still use my old G933 because the usb dongle have a 3.5 mm jack that you can plug another audio source and they BOTH play at the same time on the headset, very useful when i want to play PS5 on one monitor and PC for youtube on another monitor
Nice vid as always. Love all your content. Maybe one day you'll tryout some IEM'S. $50 will change your mind on headsets
Im curious about these but.... the swappable batteries of the nova pro is also great. also, im sure they are gonna be sold out for a while.
Love ❤️ your channel! The footage referencing Gen 4 are actually Gen 3!?? Gen 3 & 4 work on PS5. Either get HDMI adapter or even easier connect optical cord directly to your TV. As long as your TV has an optical port you are good 👍 to go!!
Unfortunately the HDMI adapter isn’t HDMI 2.1 (so restricts the 4K 120hz my tv/monitor need). And as my monitor doesn’t have optical that won’t work either (and on my TV I use my AVR for sound, so it wouldn’t work on there either.
Just got these as a christmas gift a few hours ago. Already loving them. Coming from Astro A40's for my Xbox, i was beyond glad to see the A50 X being able to connect to both Xbox and PS. Beyond comfortable and lightweight. Definitely worth the purchase.
Hi I ordered mine they done shipped I'm still waiting for mine how do they sound for PS5 do you like them happy holidays stay safe and happy gaming to all
I figure these are better since you don't have to use Atmos to emulate Surround sound anymore. Since its HDMI Passthrough for Audio it's almost like using the optical cable on the old school Astro's your actually getting Dolby 7.1 if you choose.
Nice I'll have to check these out. I bought the Alienware 920H headset and its ok but I feel like the audio leaves much to be desired. This looks spot on
Thank you for this video and also can you compire between (( A50X - Steelseries Nova pro wireless))
And i wana ask you where can i buy the same table you have i love it ❤️👍🏻
I actually ordered these yesterday and was thinking that I might have made a mistake as I was replacing my near 4 year old Sony Pulse 3Ds and was looking for a minor step up. After watching your video I can definitely see I made a good decision!
My normal Astro a50 turn on but don’t work or have sound when connected so idk if I’ll buy this
I'm thinking of getting these headsets for my pc,Xbox Series and Ps5.I'll give these headset a chance.Never hurts to take a risk.I'm shocked on the battery life for 24hours instead of 16 hours.Thank you SpawnPoiint for demostrating theese headsets.I had the Gen 4 model which i had for almost 6-7 years.I'm ready to upgrade to the new model Astro A50 X in Black.
Prolly the most stylish and beautiful looking headset
I got the A40 ima definitely get this one though I love Astro headset
Finally some bass ... thank goodness. Make games feel alive.
These look great, one point you mentioned is 120hz pass through - is there anyway to push them to 240hz for PC FPS games on a gaming monitor?
My gen 4 still work great on ps5 but will defo get these next best gaming headset even they are pricey but worth it great quality
Nice gaming headset! (I wonder if the sound could come from the tv and headset at the same time or did it mute the tv when you on the headset?)
How do these stack up to the audeze Maxwell's in terms of sound quality, comfort and overall experience ?
Nova Pro wireless. These are pretty darn fantastic. Also what monitor are you using? Nice colors.
Could you just plug the power cable and the usb c from ps5 and connect the hdmi from ps5 to tv directly? Or does the base station NEED the hdmi?
Great review as always...
I do notice how you didn't mention anything about the side Game/ chat buttons though
Perhaps thats because they didn't work? As that's what I've found with my PS5
No they 100% work for me. It doesn't show on screen, but it works (as shown on the app as you press the headset too).
I have A40s and the older A50s. Before it couldn't connect to both my PS4 and XB1. so this is nice
Been using the a50s on my ps4 and ps5 time for a new one
Picked these up and they’re phenomenal. My biggest critique is that they don’t include all the cables you need if you are setting it up on multiple consoles.
QUESTION! How would I go about switching from PC to console if my console is in the living room and PC at my desk? Can’t imagine using the docking station for 2 separate rooms?
I use The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX and works with PS5, Xbox Series and PC, and works perfectly for me.
Huh. Telling my wife I want this on Christmas Eve. Nothing like last minute lol
I never want to miss the hot swappable batteries on the arctis nova pro wireless ever again. Madly disappointed that these headphones don't have that. i don't want to be stuck on a cable wearing them.
Your old A50s are gen 3, no?
Super excited Astro is back!
Yeah the Gen 3’s had the blue and the gen 4’s were just plain black I think. Thought the same thing when he mentioned it! Can’t wait for these to be released in AUS
0:05 Astro is really good! 🙌🎮
The headset utilizing the mute button on the ps5 control is just wonderful
It's such an overlooked feature on others, no idea why they don't do it every time.
@@SpawnPoiint its the one main feature i always hope you mention when I've watched your other headset reviews, and sadly it does not occur alot
Awesome review, I need a headset that switches between consoles flawlessly, and the fact that it switches your HDMI input for you with a switch of a button is icing on top, thank you for the detailed review!
