Since her AGT beginnings, yes absolutely, but this song was actually recorded a year ago and has been 'hidden away', so to speak, awaiting the release of the movie. The only reason I play ukulele today is because of your first audition for America's got talent. You inspired me so much with your voice and songs. I remember I used to have a friend, we were very childish for our age and we were always told to grow up. She loved your songs as much as I did; we would listen every day. She was my next-door neighbor, and my inspiration to write songs. The day after your birthday, she told me she was moving halfway across the world. We cried and said goodbye. I still have the songs we wrote together and sang. This song is a reminder to be yourself no matter what, to be ignorant of what everyone says. I hope I'll be able to see her again someday, but for now, thank you, Grace.

I watched this young lady since the first time she was on America's Got Talent and I've watched her grow and mature. Her music has evolved with her and I'm blown away her ability to write her own music and her own lyrics. She has been describing to us, in her own way, through her songs, about her life, her experiences, and if you've really been listening, you' will understand that her life has not been easy, not her home life for sure because her parents seem to love and support her, but her life outside of home and at school, where she has been bullied by some, and rejected by others, but she has a heart the size of the moon. She has displayed a maturity beyond her years and her music shows that. Stay true to your heart Grace, you truly are ... one in a million!

Yes, quite different. It's written to convey the theme and feel of the movie, so Grace had to match that. Also to meld with the overall sound track, I imagine. Thus the different sound, lighter and sweeter. But unmistakably Grace!

In a recent interview on the Zach Sang show, Grace said it was her label not pushing to get her on the radio. Grace believes it is because of her age. Someone else said pretty much the same thing recently saying that labels don't like to promote artists until they are at least 16 - 17. I think they (her label) is being short sited. Grace should be all over the radio! Clearly should have been a hit, but was not promoted by her management team at the time or the label even though Grace did everything she could do to promote it. On the other hand, she seems comfortable with how her success is going. Don't forget she is still in school which must be a priority and it helps her remain grounded by being with people her own age. She is getting a handle on the work-life balance which she will need more and more going forward. She will be a superstar soon enough. She has the right combination including a really good support team.

Just for the record Grace didn't write the lyrics for this song but they sure as "heaven" chose the right person to sing it! She definitely makes it her own. Blown away once again. I have a feeling I'd better get used to that. It really is "Just the Beginning". Question is, is it really even possible to get better than this??? Listening through the ears of a drummer, one thing that keeps catching my ear in all her songs (aside from her vocal tone with all its rich blend of nuanced grace-notes and subtle vibrato) is her impeccable, innate sense of rhythmic phrasing. Friggen flawless!! Every syllable percussively placed with exquisite taste propelling the song forward, enhancing the groove. And she makes it sound so smooth and effortless. Roger that……!!!
And this was recorded over a year ago! Pure talent! No training can create this. Grace herself, with amazing humility, accepts it as " ...this blessing that has been gifted to me..." I know this will sound like hyperbole(it's not), but I believe she is a blessing that has been gifted to us.

Jonophilous this is Grace’s official account, so how can you say that the description has the lyrics wrong? Sure it accidentally skipped the second pre-chorus but forgetting a part is different than getting something wrong. And even though it sounds like “a home”, it is really “our home”. It’s just how Grace’s voice works. It’s like in City Song, when she sings “let’s take the city and make it our song”, it kind of sounds like “a song“ but the correct lyrics are in the physical lyric booklet that comes with the Just The Beginning CD, and it’s “our”.
@@amberd2673 Well you just have to listen. It's clearly "a home" to my ears and I have very good earphones. Also she sings "make-believing" instead of "in make-believe". They must have copy-pasted the lyrics from Genius.com like a lot of people which is user-edited. That's why the pre-chorus is missing.
