Thanks, it's a compulsion, I rarely seem to be able to put things together properly. It's a testament to how nice this kit is that all I did was a couple of headswaps.
Mine are in the post still since it takes forever to ship across the pond, but tracking says they are close. I'm beyond excited to get them, build them up, and paint them. With the whole bronze age brought back to life aesthetic, I think they are gonna be a total blast to paint.
I can't wait to get some paint on them but they are back of the queue for the time being and that means that have been packed away till I move house :( at this rate you'll have yours done before me. You should post them on the discord when you paint them.
I think those are the best Skeletons currently available. 30 models, with plenty of options for a very reasonable price. Really regret buying a boatload of Mantic Skeletons at the start of the year. If I'd have known these were on the way, I would have bought these. Oh well, hopefully they'll mix well. Nice Necromancer kitbash.
I use some Oathmark minis for my RPGs. I love their modular kits for customs and they are much more affordable than GW. I'll be picking these up in the near future.
This skeleton set pushed me in to getting Oathmark! I have assembled half of them, and started on some Elves. They are great models. I also followed your suggestion of looking at EM4 miniatures and getting a bag of their mixed dwarfs and a bag of mixed orks. That is a cheap way to build up an army!
Just waiting on both my book and my skeletons (along with some other boxes...). Thanks for the look and your thoughts on both! I have a feeling I'll agree with what you've said. Nice seeing those conversions too, they blend nicely.
I picked up the kindle version today but haven't had a flip through yet. I'll definitely be picking up 2 boxes of the skelefriends. I have a Necromancer built from the Wizards II sprue and I have 20 ghouls that I painted up for RoSD that I put on 30mm rounds, so I'll pop them off and rebase them. I'm excited to see what else I want to add to my Undead kingdom, this is the release I've been waiting for!
Great review! Im waiting for north star to release more human sets preferably linebreakers or some heavy infantry variant, seems like im gonna have to wait awhile however..
Thanks, I'm definitly hoping for some cavelry but I am thinking of trying to use the Frostgrave Barbarians as Linebreakers and then se some of the left over parts to make my Oathmark spearmen a but more rugged. I would assume a human heavy box is in the plan to cover Warriors and Linebreakers.
The Warlord skeletons are the old Wargames Factory ones, really wish they'd get the rest of their old lines up because several were really good that are impossible to find. The skeletons are horrible for assembly as skeletons, but the box is awesome for other things you might want to add some skeletons or pieces of them to. Basing material and the like because they're extremely well detailed, but fiddly as hell. One thing I really love are the Mantic skeletons and zombies where they have the part for them pulling themselves out of the ground.
I would't say "way" over priced, they work out at £2 a mini which isnt terrible and they come with a lot of options. There are a lot of worse priced minis out there. If aything I would say the Oathmark ones at 83p are just very affordable.
They are from Renedra, the same as who make the bases supplied in the box and can be bought from Northstar or directly from here; www.renedra.co.uk/product-category/gaming-bases/
I'm still trying to chose between the skeleton box set and the revenant box set. I wish someone would compare and contrast between the two. Hint, hint Scruffy. I'm going to be limited at first to two box sets and and the rule books. It's down to humans or dwarves and skeletons or revenants.
I do take a look at the revenants in my bane of kings vid, if I was just buying two opposing boxes for small games I'd definitely go skellies Vs Humans. I'm not the biggest fan of the Dwarf kit. ua-cam.com/video/jh_1vUnoXdM/v-deo.html
I guess full 25mm bases would be too thick, although I have seen some stuff from warlord with build on 25mm, and if you did do you put them on rounds or square.
I personally don't like trying to glue a model down by just it's feet. Having the feet linked together is probably also an advantage for the molds but I agree the base could at least have more tapered edges or go with tabs
@@ScruffyCrow Games Workshop has figured out how to give us models without feet molded onto thick useless plastic. Pretty sure these guys could figure it out too.
Loved seeing what you did with your figures, and the conversions/bits swaps.

Thanks for the review. I’m sold for sure now. I’ll be ordering these ASAP.
Glad I could help, it is a nice kit.

Great video! I look forward to seeing them on the table.
Me too, mabye the dwarves will hire a wandering necromancer before he settles in the human kingdom. Just to get them to the table faster.

There's a lot of plastic skellis out there at the moment but I would definitely go with these Ifni needed more unless I wanted that Greek look.
So nice to see you back from the Epic stuff. Great vid!
I'll re visit at some point now I have a printer but I was a bit bored of it and it wasn't very popular.
Those undead are very nice! thank you for the review! keep the videos coming.

I got my oathbreakers preorder today as well. Agree with your assesment on the skeletons. they're great!
I won a little undead gnome familiar :D

It'll be the new year now but im looking forward to it.
They look awesome, thanks for the review.
They are lovely little minis, im keen to get them painted but they are at the back of the queue for now.
Very nice looking box
Very nice review and unboxing, skeletons look great thinking of getting some, all the best Garry

@@ScruffyCrow Where did you order the Oathbreakers and Skeletons from ?
Northstar Military Figures. They are who produce the official Oathmark and Frostgrave ranges.
GW ones have the chest of a pregnent ogre
Not compatible with kings of war in terms of basing system, is it ?
Is the chariot just a mount for characters or can it be a unit on its own?
I'm a bit sad, that its just a undead thing at the moment, but maybe..
They can be used as a unit of 1, so maximum 3 per army of regular ones plus as mounts for heros.
@@ScruffyCrow sounds sweet. thanks.
so... characters can join units of 1, right? that would be a wonderful excuse to build some more ;P
I'm not sure, about characters joining, I might have to double check that.

ooo i do love a skeleton army
IV never done one before, but if I did I'd go with these guys of the usual Greek esk alternative
@@ScruffyCrow Thats great. I still have my 25mm lead evil dead army figures somewhere
I wish North Star would ditch the stupid half bases all of their models come molded to. I don't quite understand the point of that.

Prefer old school pewter metal minis? Heresy. Plastic is so much easier to work with.
