Who else always has to look up a video bc you can’t understand instructions unless you see it done first
You make a great point Kenna and we are working on new projects all the time to try to improve our installation guides as we know no matter how hard you try in diagram format they never quite 100% do what a video can. Thank you for viewing.
For real. Reading car seat instructions requires the mental fortitude of a monk and the comprehension of a wisened spiritual elder or something. (Graco’s manual is far better than others I’ve seen though!)
💯
based and same
Exactly what I’m doing right now lol
For rear facing the seat belt is totally in the way for putting baby in the seat. Plus I don’t think my seat is like that.
Wow... so easy and well explained. Easier than that is impossible :)
Nice and comfy car seat! Easy to install and wash. Will provide us years of use.
How do you wash it
when you recline the seat the base isn’t suppose to move?
IKEA instructions in the book
Am I understanding correctly that in the booster mode, the seat is not attached to the car at all? I wouldn't want to miss something here. It looks like the booster rests on the seat and is only held on place when the child is wearing the car's seat belt. It's that right?
Yes that's correct like most high back boosters x
Hi, our SlimFit R44 must be installed using only the vehicle seatbelt when in both harness and booster mode. When the seat is not in use, the seatbelt should either be secured to prevent the seat from becoming a projectile in the event of a collision, or it should be fully removed from the vehicle.
Thanks. I think I'm just confused because in the event of a collision, the weight of the carseat would push forward against the child, wouldn't it? I mean, since it isn't attached independently to the car, both it and the child will be pressed forward into the seat belt. Maybe the physics in my imagination is off.
But still, I'm glad to know I'm reading the instructions properly even if I don't totally understand the reasoning.
@@Ahopek Hi, please be assured our SlimFit R44 has been rigorously safety tested. Our customer service team can be contacted by email customerservices.uk@gracobaby.eu or free phone 0800 952 0063 if you do have any further questions.
Easy to setup. A little difficult to get used to using.
I am usually very good at reading instructions, but this car seat installation instructions baffled me. Still feels unsecure after following the video too. 😢
Anyone else think that this seat is very unstable in rear facing mode? The belt just bunches up at the bottom of the belt guide and the top of the seat just rocks side to side very easily. Have never been able to get it to sit right this way.
Hi, thanks for your message. If you contact our customer services team they will be able to assist you. Their email address is customerservices.uk@gracobaby.eu Many Thanks 💙
When do you need to take baby liner out ?
How does the seat belt and padding come off for the high back booster please?
Is there any isofix base available for this seat?
Hi, thanks for your message. Our SlimFit R44 has an integrated base and must be installed with the vehicle belt only.
Should you need anything further, our customer services team will be able to assist you. Their email address is customerservices.uk@gracobaby.eu Many Thanks 💙
Is that ok to fix it in the front seat with rear facing for 13 months baby ?
Can I incline the car seat while it's on forward facing mode when the baby is asleep?
Yes of course!
@Graco_UK hi but can you recline it to the numbers where it says rear facing?? Even if you are foward facing??
Hi. I have twins who are 4 months. I want to buy Graco Slimfit. My wife wants to sit on the middle seat with twins on both the sides. But how will she enter the car when using baby car seats in rear facing mode? Won't the car seats block the entrance? Please share your experience. Only solution I can see is that one seat I buy that can rotate 360 degrees.
Our Turn2Me would be a solution ua-cam.com/video/b3geQnVDowQ/v-deo.html
So it’s ok if the car seat moves side to side a little bit? I always thought it should not move at all so I would secure it as tight as possible 🤔
Moving just a little is good to absorb any impact.
There should be a little bit of movement in the event of an impact but as long as you have no slack in your seatbelt and seat doesn't "move out of place" and feels tight and snug you should be fine!
This is what I'm wondering as my Britax car seats are glued to the car and don't budge
Forward facing 1:45
Can you please tell me if the arm strap can be extended further than it is. ?
Hi Maltnex can you please send an image of which portion you are relating to if that is possible? Thank you, Graco.
I have fitted the car seat as per instructions but I only recline the seat that much if my 20 month old is sleeping otherwise i use it straight. My problem is when the car seat is fitted as reclined, i can't straighten the seat back up as the seat belt is preventing it from moving. What can I do to solve this? My little girl hates being forced to lay back if she is awake. She must have to be able to sit up too. What can I do?
Hi there, Im sorry to hear you are having this issue. We now have an updated installation video which may help check the fitting - ua-cam.com/video/FZakdXe0W2k/v-deo.html If the problem is still not resolved please email customerservices.uk@gracobaby.eu with a short 10/15 second video of the car seat in the vehicle showing the issue along with the make, model and year of the car and one of the team will be able to assist.
Our truck seat is smaller than the base of the actual carseat , so the base of the carseat comes out a little more than the truck seat should I return ?
Definitely return the truck for a bigger one
Is the crotch buckle extendable?
No isofix?
Hi Monica, yes this seat has what we call isoCatch which are basically ISOFIX rigid connectors. As there is no top tether or load leg we are unable to pass ISOFIX standards (as you need both ISOFIX and top tether OR loadleg to pass) so you have to also use the seatbelt to install the seat alongside the isoCatch connectors to not get confused with "true" ISOFIX. Hope this helps.
When we got this home it has a large ugly safety label covering a large part of the wings of the left headrest. Why does this need to be there? It should have been at the side out of the way of the baby
Hi Tom and thank you getting in touch. Due to the R44.04 car seat standards we have to clearly show the warning label and this is checked by the VCA before we can get a PASS certificate - it must be in full view. All car seats are like this unfortunately in some shape or form. Hope this has helped. Thank you.
Thanks very much for your response, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply like that. I accept what you say about regulations etc., and I know that makes it difficult, the only thing I would say is that it being stitched on so close to where the baby/ toddlers head might rest is not ideal. Could it not be at the other side of the headrest where it is more likely to be seen by whoever is fitting the seat. Right now it is my grandson who is best placed to read it, and he’s only one and not terribly interested.
All that said, we are delighted with the seat - fits really well and is very good quality, so please don’t think we are moaning for the sake of it
Another example of government ruining capitalism and free markets
This product have latches
very helpful video!
Glad it was helpful!
Can this carseat be installed in the middle forward facing with the isofix latch straps? My child (age 4) suffering really bad with car sickness and iv been told middle seating could help him with that, thanks
Please note that the SlimFit does not come with isofix latch straps. The SlimFit LX comes with isofix latch straps. Hope that helps! Thank you.
@@Graco_UK you can buy universal ones would that be still safe? Or do I have to purchase another carseat as we only just got this one a few month ago
@@sugabaeknu7922 We would not recommend this as a Brand as we do not know in a crash test setting whether these would be effective or not. You can still fit the SlimFit in the middle seat using seat belt routing - have you tried that? Thank you
@@Graco_UK my car only has the across the lap belt in the middle and my child's too tall to have facing backwards would that be possible still? I have literally no idea how to keep him safe yet also keep him from feeling unwell in the car
@@sugabaeknu7922 oh that is such a shame - it can't be used in the middle seat then unfortunately as it would not be safe! I wish we could help you further as it's a lot of money to spend on a Car Seat. Are there no other remedies or advice the doctor/nurse can give you?
The chest strap is lacking in this model and baby always comes out of it 🤦♀️ i think this lacks in safety...is there any way to improvise for the chest strap or i need a different one??
Hi i am really sorry that you are having issues with our seat - please email customerservices.uk@gracobaby.eu and they will help you with your issue.
Hi.
We are experiencing problems adjusting the 5 point harness, particularly the lower clip. We have pressed the button that is meant to allow more give. This is not providing sufficient give, and means that it is a struggle to connect all 5 points.
Please can you help? As I’m not sure if there is a fault or if we are doing something wrong.
Thanks
I am so sorry that you are having issues - please can you email customerservices@gracobaby.eu and they will be able to discuss this further with you and come to a resolution. Thank you so much and once again, sorry for the delay in responding.

No Latch? No isofix?
Latch isnt a recognised thing in the UK yet but i hope it is soon you can buy a latch connector seperate and do it that way but not with the seat
Hi Bearsy thank for your comment. I think with R129/iSize taking over in 2024 unfortunately the latch will not be able to be used.
My car has a different configuration and I can't extend the shoulder strap behind the seat to attach on the other side. I assume I then use the extra strap to have the seat more secure. Could you please provide steps to use this extra strap?
Use the bottom hook
Hi can this seat be installed in the front car seat?
Only if you have the airbag deactivated and you check with your vehicle handbook that this is possible for your make of car. Hope that helps! If you need any further information I would email our Customer Services department and they can help you further. You can email them on customerservices.uk@gracobaby.eu. Thank you!
Poppers lol
It says forward facing from 9 months this is INACCURATE information!
Hi Hannah thank you for your comment - this has been tested in accordance to R44.04 and the car seat passes the test from 9-18kg which estimates from 9 months. Thank you, Graco.
@@Graco_UK yeah ok 👍😂
@@Graco_UK okay but you know better. A 9 month old should never be forward facing. Additionally, in the video for forward facing, it clearly isn't tight enough. For an instructional video, you NEED to be accurate! It's children's lives.
10/10 will not recommend a greco product. Their directions are so bad. For example, the harness button their instructions pointed to adjustment lever. Harness button is hidden inside all the plastic? Please write better directions. It's a kids product. Any injuries your company should be liable for not writing good instructions...
Ensure the thing is tightened, ok how?! You don't explain anything.
Hi Nick, we are disappointed to read your review. All diagrams in the product user manual are supported with thorough step by step instructions. Please be assured we are here to help and can be contacted via email
