    This is great!! I recently found your channel and it's been SO helpful in preparing for our first cruise! My husband is on a combat deployment right now, and we are going on an Alaskan cruise in August for his R&R. I am sooooo excited!! I'm making my packing list already. :) I'm so glad you did an Alaskan specific video on what to pack! I am SO bad about not packing light, but I'm trying to be strategic for this trip. Thank you again!

    I used your suggestions as a guide for our recent August Alaskan cruise. You were spot on! Excellent advice and great video. I was dubious about buying duck boots for three of us but they were ideal. We also bought packable down jackets and rain jackets. They took up very little room in the suit cases and we wore them several days. Thanks for doing this video!

We are cruising from Seattle to Alaska this August for our 1st Alaskan cruise and it totally helped to see what you packed and actually wore. I do however have one question? What did you all pack and wear for dinners? Any insight for dinner attire would be so appreciated. Much Love, Donna

    Hi!! My family and I are going on an Alaska cruise in June so in a couple of days lol. I’m panicking a little because I’m from Oklahoma and I thought it was gonna be warm since it’s in June right? Well I guess I’m wrong😬😬 we leave in a few days and I definitely need to do some last minute shopping. So just to double check I’ll definitely need:
    Raincoat
    Puffer jacket
    Sweatshirt
    Sweatpants
    Jeans
    Cardigans
    Long sleeve shirts
    Rain boots, thick socks
    Tennis shoes
    Scarf, rain gloves, hat
    I’m seeing temperatures like 64 degrees Fahrenheit but I’m assuming it’s gonna feel colder? I’m all over the place😂sorry I just need help!!!!!

    • @MissCrystal
      @MissCrystal  5 років тому

      Hi, Alaska is definitely something to plan for in advance. I'd say you can get most of these things anytime except for the puffer jacket. That's not totally necessary, just what I brought and loved. Just think layers. I've known people say it's hot and sunny and then there's our trip that was colder. Alaska weather is up and down like that from day to day. I would rather have these things and be prepared/not cold. Enjoy your cruise!

    Great video. Having done the Alaskan cruise twice, I think a lightweight but warm scarf is essential. It will warm you up without adding bulk. It's in the 50s most of the time in port and only about freezing on the water, so I never used my winter coat or winter boots, just a raincoat and sneakers. The ship will provide blankets to drape over your knees on deck. For sleeping, if you feel the cold bring a polar fleece nightshirt.

    • @MissCrystal
      @MissCrystal  7 років тому

      +Lori Loeb I actually had a scarf but only wore it when getting on the ship. I thought those that like wearing them would naturally think to bring one. Our cruise line did offer blankets on deck but not sure if other lines do. We cruised with Princess.

      I've never been on Disney so it's hard to say. We were on Princess. I'm guessing they are all about the same in Alaska though. Enjoy your cruise!

    Thank you very informative,we have booked a cruise to Alaska for next September. Leaving from Los Angles and returning. On the Royal princess. It's twelve days. We see that all the clothes you packed are very casual. Which is great we don't dress up that much anymore. Anyway we noticed on our booking that it says no formal nights . Would that be right? If so that's fine with us . Just wondering 😎

      Hi, I've never heard of a cruise not having formal nights. We also cruise with Princess a lot. There were 2 formal nights on our cruise and people did dress up as normal. The rest of the nights were more casual than any other cruise we've been on (over 20). So I'd double check with the cruise line or just decide to skip it and eat in the buffet or pizza restaurant, which is good. We've been on Royal once and Regal twice. Enjoy your cruise!

      You can control the temp in your cabin. It really depends on if you get cold while sleeping. Enjoy your cruise!

      @@MissCrystal Thank u. Do they have anything for sea sickness?

      @@Bronzeey1 They do but you'll over pay for it on board. I prefer Bonine from the drugstore. It's over the counter and works well if I need it. If you know you are prone to seasickness or have motion sickness issues regularly, get a prescription ear patch from your doctor.
