Marlena is their muse, their inspiration. They feel lost without her. The ballerina is a great metaphor because she, too, can only truly exist when her own Marlena is with her. Without her moving her, she's broken.
In Le Parole Lontane, Marlena is a girl and interacts with all of them separately inside a house with cozy and warm rooms. Then she leaves. At the end of the video, they all go outside searching for her, in a cold, lonely world that contrast with the world they live in when Marlena is with them.
You should definitely check out the lyrics of their songs, but I highly recommend listening to the songs and watching the videos first without distractions :) after all, they won Eurovision with no captions needed ;) music knows no bounds. But definitely check out the lyrics after! Especially of their ballads like Coraline, Le Parole Lontane and Torna a Casa 👍

The maneskin begin with English then with "morirò da re" and with "Torna a casa" they start singing in Italian. Damiano proves to be a true poet.

This is a beautiful song with a gorgeous video. I totally agree with just watching it and listening. Subtitles are distracting to me the first time through.

The song is about Marlena his/their muse to return home”Torna a Casa”. His inspiration, his love. He uses a lot of metaphors and symbolism in the video and the lyrics.
As you say reading the lyrics after(or the second time through) is better for me also. This song doesn’t even need them, but it does add to the song. For Coraline translation is required. For everything else Maneskin does it is optional, but recommended.

The song is about the band loosing inspiration and hoping for Marlena (Maneskin 'inspiration /muse) to coming back home for them to be alive and don't feel cold.. Not predictable song🖤

I like to respect the original and take it all in before reacting again with the English captions it’s just my way to appreciate the song instead of reading the lyrics which then my attention gets put off from actually listening
