When I played cricket as a lad, this was part of the game. And the bowler gave the batsperson an age to get back. It was SPORTING! She almost reluctantly hit the wicket. If you don't know and respect the rules, don't expect to win. And I'm nominally an England fan.
honor, shmoner all this honor of cricket is simply a sore loser. This is the only real way to teach someone to stay in your crease until the bowler lets go of the delivery at least. if you tell them the rule without reactions for ones actions, nothing changes however after losing your wicket and then the team looses the game i bet that will make you change the way you approach a game of cricket.
When we make a mistake it hurts, but we learn more by our mistakes than our successes. Dean was a good player, now she is a better player, she will be a great player.
They should make a rule if the bowler crosses the second line at the crease without delivering the ball. That ball should be considered dead. She over stepped the white line and went back and stumped her. Should of been a no ball for crossing the line
As the top comment says, there's only a handful of observers who actually understand the game entirety, but i know one of them... One afternoon over serveral hours, he explained each and every rule in detail so that by the end of the match i could understand exactly what was happening. He completely blew my mind and cricket became infinitely more interesting and dramatic. The next day I'd forgotten most of what he'd explained and never watched a cricket match since. It is by far, the most over-engineered bat and ball game ever concieved by man. You'd think they'd just throw the ball, try to hit the sticks while the batter hits the ball as far as he can and scores points. You'd think... Watching cricket is like doing Jury duty. You've to figure out whats going on but noone explains what the laws are or the terminology. The only way you can tell is someone has won or lost is when they cry or smile.
Why she did that? Is the crucial question... She is obsessed with the batsman taking quick singles by leaving the crease. Watch the complete match, you would notice that the non striker was leaving the crease to take singles... This is done multiple times and she was obsessed... So she used the rule..
I think a warning first and if it isn't heeded, then a Mankad is the outcome if repeated... However, a warning would bring it within the spirit of the game...
It's not fun to see a game end this way as a viewer, but it's a smart play. If you don't think they should have ended the game this way, don't break a rule in a crucial moment depriving your team of a chance...don't allow this to even be a possibility. Happens all the time.
Because some people care to play regular and, as you noticed for sure, the crowd is getting their panties in a bunch about legal moves that 'are not fun' in a game. XD
People who are saying, this is not the sportsman sprit, then they should also think who started first? Firstly they done this to us in lagan, so now they are facing it again & again😏
Shameless go learn about rules first of bowler gets penalty for crossing the white line as no ball then batsman too must pay crossing the line before the bowl is delivered as simple as it is and within rules What are you crying about
I am so impressed with Ms Deepti, the bowler, for her heads-up play. The runner should not have allowed herself to drift so far from her wicket (trying to steal a large lead to make it easier to run). In baseball terms... she was "picked off" for taking too large a lead off first base.
Usually you'd give the batsman a warning first, but completely legal to do that, otherwise batsman take the piss and are half down the wicket before you've bowled.
Just to explain some folks.. At 0:21 her bat leaves the area of which is a strike.. If she stood still then the game would have continued normaly.. But her bat left safety area.. She was being too hasty..
Cricket holds itself to higher standards. Good sportsmanship is more important. In this situation, the convention is that the bowler warns the batter by stopping short of taking the bails off. Then if the batter leaves the crease early again it's absolutely fine. Winning at any cost? Other sports can cheat and connive but Cricket should be better than that.
How do you know she didn’t warn the batter earlier? I once Mankaded the batsman twice in one over, and both times my captain withdrew the appeal. Beats me how the first one didn’t count as a warning.

@@jamesgolbey8011 Primarily that even British people are saying she was entitled to do that under the rules of Cricket.
@@KeithMillar-jr3uy Right. And how does that change my original comment that she had no confidence in her own ability to actually take a wicket by bowling the ball at the batter?
When I played cricket as a lad, this was part of the game.
And the bowler gave the batsperson an age to get back. It was SPORTING! She almost reluctantly hit the wicket.
If you don't know and respect the rules, don't expect to win.
And I'm nominally an England fan.
They missed their honor on that day 😒
honor, shmoner all this honor of cricket is simply a sore loser.

I agree and getting better. Good learning time. Love Charlie Dean.
Batter made the choice to leave the crease, bowler made the choice to stump them out. Good job.
They should make a rule if the bowler crosses the second line at the crease without delivering the ball. That ball should be considered dead. She over stepped the white line and went back and stumped her. Should of been a no ball for crossing the line
Should have been, "should have been", not "should of been". It's the law
When it comes to cricket….id rather hear them chirp 🦗
Legendary incident
Land incident
The batsman should remain in the crease until the ball is released by the bowler.
Not released but when the delivery stride is deemed completed.
Simple, don‘t go wandering off!

That's rule
Respectedsirrulesandregulationyourhonestonlyiamapersite❤❤😢😮😅😅
Why she did that? Is the crucial question...
She is obsessed with the batsman taking quick singles by leaving the crease.
Watch the complete match, you would notice that the non striker was leaving the crease to take singles... This is done multiple times and she was obsessed... So she used the rule..
Thats fair
Fast bowlers can use this trick each and every ball. They will get each and over wickets 😂😂😂
Nope. . . they won't, because batters will; stop leaving the crease before they should . . .

I think a warning first and if it isn't heeded, then a Mankad is the outcome if repeated... However, a warning would bring it within the spirit of the game...
I wouldn't even warn them. If people don't like it get together and change the rule. Other wise stay in your crease.
Only fair... rules are rules

It's not fun to see a game end this way as a viewer, but it's a smart play. If you don't think they should have ended the game this way, don't break a rule in a crucial moment depriving your team of a chance...don't allow this to even be a possibility. Happens all the time.

the batwoman tried to leave her crease to gain an unfair advantage and opened herself up to be run out by the bowler
If that is legal move. Why is every pitch not done that way ?
Because some people care to play regular and, as you noticed for sure, the crowd is getting their panties in a bunch about legal moves that 'are not fun' in a game. XD
People who are saying, this is not the sportsman sprit, then they should also think who started first? Firstly they done this to us in lagan, so now they are facing it again & again😏

Out. Stay in crease until bowler has let go of ball. Batter commentators favour batters.
Shameless people can do anything
Shameless go learn about rules first of bowler gets penalty for crossing the white line as no ball then batsman too must pay crossing the line before the bowl is delivered as simple as it is and within rules

No idea until reading some comments. Fair enough
As an indian i hated this
I am so impressed with Ms Deepti, the bowler, for her heads-up play. The runner should not have allowed herself to drift so far from her wicket (trying to steal a large lead to make it easier to run). In baseball terms... she was "picked off" for taking too large a lead off first base.
Fair play, cheeky but within the rules runner left the crease before bowler completed bowl and tapped stumps
I used to give them 1 warning first. Most ignored it and I didn't feel bad.
This is not a gentlemen's game anymore..
This is like gully cricket..😂😂😂😂
A gentleman wouldn't leave his crease early either so 🤷♂️
She made the right play.... Don't wander out and you won't be run out.
WTF just happened here?
Usually you'd give the batsman a warning first, but completely legal to do that, otherwise batsman take the piss and are half down the wicket before you've bowled.
This is wrong because before doing this she will give a warning that actually mens also gives
