I potted up a lot of Japanese maples 3 years ago. I sold off most of them but have a few left that need to be moved up to bigger pots. I am repotting 4 Red Japanese maples and one Tamukeyama Japanese Maple into bigger Rootmaker pots. I will follow up this video in a few months and see if the Repotting of these Japanese maples helps stimulate new growth.

can you do a video on repotting baby oak trees? i have bad luck with that. oak trees seem to be very finicky.
I have an 18 cell Rootmaker cell of shumard red oaks that I will move up to one gallon rootmaker pots in about a week!
If a jm is red it needs sun to stay the red color. In the shade they will green up faster
Could you use fine pine bark?
You sure could, Pine bark will be a little more acidic, but Japanese maples wont mind that at all. Different kinds of bark are going to be more readily available depending on what part of the country you are in..
