No, lower resistance means theres less resistance to the current moving thru the wire back to the battery. The best or easiest explanation that helped me to understand is... think about water moving through a hose. If your hose is wide, water runs freely, faster and in larger quantities (low resistance) than a hose that is much thinner or constricted. In the constricted hose the resistance is higher and the water is slowed down. I'm still learning too since I 1. Quit smoking after 30 yrs and regular sub ohm tanks just weren't doing it for me... nicotine or vapor wise and... 2. I got REALLY fucking sick of having to run out in a panic in my super rural community to find the right coil for my tanks, when they were burning out everyday or every other day. Not only were they non satisfactory, but thet were a pain in the ass to find and expensive as hell at that rate. I found RDA vaping, I love to do shit myself so building my own coils to my own satisfaction was totally up my alley and much, much easier and cheaper once you get the basics down. Now I'm obsessed with building and trying new coils. But you definitely have to learn ohms law, battery safety and be careful, but the vaping community is awesome and you can find help in many places. Or you COULD order prebuilt coils that are already read for ohms. All you have to do is know what ohm you want (or try a bunch to find out) then know how to install and wick them, which is not hard at all. Of course you need the right equipment/device. A regulated mod and a good easy to build RDA. I started with a Snowwolf 220wt mod and a Bonza and Dead Rabbit RDA. Both are beginner friendly and still my favs. Then of course coils and cotton. I use "cotton bacon" Wotofo and Geekvape both make really decent prebuilt coils. I keep them on hand for emergencies and when I have nothing else made. Also... now you can even buy prebuilt wire to make your own coils. Spools of Clapton (or whatever coil) all you do is cut off the spool your desired length and twist your coil from that. It's a great way to get your feet wet. After you understand ohms law of course. I learned by watching like 50 diff videos!
I am new to vaping and was wondering if anyone could tell me which wire to use in my Eleaf istick Pico with the MELO 3 tank ? I want a wire that will give me a good flavor vape with durability. Can anyone please help me?
So wnna ask im pretty new to vaping now i have normal nichrome and a stainless steal coil im using a rta so wivh is better and what wattage or celcius do i use?
Neither is better or worse, though I would recommend trying with Nichrome first to get used to the builds. Stainless being a lower resistance will mean you need to be more conscious of the resistance. For any wattage recommendations, you need to consult Ohm's Law and be sure that you are vaping at the optimum and safe range.
Ni80 is not going to be Temp control optimal. For Temperature Control you want to run Nickel, Stainless, or Titanium. However, be careful if using Titanium wire and read up on the dangers of dry burning Titanium!
The gauges of wire will change the resistance of the wire as well. Think about it as a hose. The larger the hose, the more water can move through it. However, the opposite effect happens to the wire with ramp-up time.
While the resistance is lower with the 22awg wire, it will ramp up slower due to its size. Personally, I find that my Ni80 or Ni90 22awg builds work best on regulated mods or series boxes where I can get more power directly. For single battery mechanical mods or tube mods, I prefer smaller awg wire (24 or 26) around a smaller inner diameter to ensure that I am getting the most surface area possible while still maintaining the ideal resistance.
That really depends on the shop or retailer you are buying it from. Most places that I have seen (including our shops) have the three standard wires all at the same price (Ni80, Kanthal A1, and Stainless Steel 316L). However, you can find competition wire which is typically going to be an Ni90 or low resistance comp wire that might be a bit more expensive.
Thank you for the informative video man - saved me from having a bad time ; )
If you do.... You're gonna have a bad time!!!! Love this video. Thanks for spreading the knowledge
If you French fry when you wanna pizza, you’re gonna have a bad time...
Joninfiction dead 💀
Good shit dude perfect video to tell people what's what with the different wires. Thanks for not making it 15 minutes or something lol
Is nichrome temp control only? Great video btw!
Great video lot of useful info Crammed into 4mins25, can't believe I'm the first 'like' on this video. Many thanks.
We're glad it could help!
Lets said you have 2 spools of wire without labels one is Ni200 and the other is Ni80 .. how you can tell wich one is ni80 ? Thanks
When u say low resistance, do u mean it hits harder when u vape?

what if i build a wrap of ni80 and a wrap of kanthal with same resistance, what would be the difference between them ?
so why not just use SS316? Its best of both worlds.
Ni200 is the Nickel? And Ni80 is the Nichrome?
Yes. Ni200 is all Nickel where as the number after the "Ni" in Nichrome is the percentage of Nickel in the wire.
Denver Electronic Cigarettes Thank u very much man!
Of course! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!
We have been using these wires in Special Effects for years. They also use it in toaster ovens. NiChrome is the best.
Ty for great review

Btw im using a smoant battlestar and a rta azeroth

Would u say n80 is most recommended in temp control or Can you run it in watts mode?
Ni80 is not going to be Temp control optimal. For Temperature Control you want to run Nickel, Stainless, or Titanium. However, be careful if using Titanium wire and read up on the dangers of dry burning Titanium!
Denver Electronic Cigarettes i suppose ss would be most recommended for tc, as far as ive heard atleast - what do you think?
It comes down to personal preference, but in my opinion it is my favorite.
Ni80 wire could be used for temp or watts mode or both?
CAPTAINJORDANYT THE EXTREME GAMER nichrome(ni80) can only be used in power/wattage mode & nickel(ni200) only in temp control dude.
Hi. Can I use ni80 on temp control.
Sorry just read the comments below. Got the answer. Thanks.
How about the differences between nichrome awg? 22awg vs 24awg vs 26awg
The gauges of wire will change the resistance of the wire as well. Think about it as a hose. The larger the hose, the more water can move through it. However, the opposite effect happens to the wire with ramp-up time.
So that means the 22awg wire will heat up faster than 26awg wire, given all other things being equal
While the resistance is lower with the 22awg wire, it will ramp up slower due to its size. Personally, I find that my Ni80 or Ni90 22awg builds work best on regulated mods or series boxes where I can get more power directly. KP is the best. Ribbon comes off the sppol perfect. Best quality wire.
ok, really helpful vid 👍
What is the cheapest wire

THANK YOU,, I'm ss for wattage mode all the way
Difrents between ni80 26 and ni 80 24;
ty for info
Most certainly!
Ti enters the chat:
MLT ka hai
Now I'm really confused..
👍🏻👍🏻
A bad time *HOW*
Whys his eyes closed most of the time lol
Anyone having a bad time?
Low resistance allows you to increase wattage and get more and Warmer vapor .
