I absolutely never knew til Son's Of Anarchy that beautiful loving Katie Segal sang . What blessings gifted to be a fine actress & gift of voice great at both is rare people . I for one am so grateful her husband as well as Katie both decided on letting her voice be heard thank you ! Thank you for creating and putting in all the work that it takes to have a good webpage here on UA-cam, I hate T.V. these days once in awhile a good series will receive huge raves and I'll check it out if good I'll be watching other than that between reality peeps who can't act along with talent shows to dancing & karaoke I'm sick Hollywood will never be Hollywood ever again even the Academy award shows sucks ! My father bought the 45 rpm single of this song by Lulu in 1967 and I have it now. It's great that it has become such an immortal song and has been incorporated into a current (more or less) hit series. Katey Sagal did a great job.

Just cant cover Lulus sweet innocent sound...i hate to sound like an old guy, but that era of music was astonishing and did not require massive production and autotuning. Im in love with Katie Sagal forever and she has a helluva voice so this cover is very good. Wish i had been there during the recording...

After hearing "Bird on a Wire" I looked up and too 'discovered' Katey's AMAZING VOICE! Didn't know till I read in this thread she sang back-up for Dylan. Thanks for that trivia tidbit. I looooooooove this series!! BEST show EVER on TV. I'm buying the DVDs so I can watch it over and over and over ....... :D

I've always liked this song. Seeing it in the episode gave the song all new meaning. I LOVE Katy's voice, not the best, or strongest but so much emotion. Now this is stuck in my head day and night, guess it's not a bad thing!!!

I knew it was her, she has always been a very good singer since the 70's, here family is a well known and very artistic bunch... (Music, Movies, Tv) There are a few other songs in the series I knew were hers as well, but this is the first one I actually looked up. Just liked the intro and how it all flowed. I'm sure most of you know that her sister Liz Segal is a writer and producer of the show as well.
Eric Bishard her husband is Kurt Sutter the producer of Sons of Anarchy. He also played the character of Otto.

It was originally the theme song to the movie "To Sir With Love". I've always thought of it as a good father/daughter song (when the daughter gets married), but it was written for the movie about an educated black teacher and his ghetto-dwelling students.
