I love this poem and poet. Back when I was a teen I met someone who actually met Robert Frost. I failed English every year without fail. Then came literature. I had to learn who was a realist, surrealist, and so on. I was taught R.F. was an impressionist. The guy which was an English professor that I met explained that R.F. was a realist. He had a chance to talk to R.F. and tell him how his poems had inspired him. R.F. told him that there were 2 roads to the farm he lived on. He would pick berries from the roads less travelled because not as many were crushed by travellers. The stone walls poem. When they plowed the fields they would at times come across stones that they would bring to their property wall. The neighbors did the same. It gave them a chance to talk. R.F. explained to the professor (who was just a student at the time) that poetry is like a painting. Each person will see something different even from the artist who created it. Each person will take with them an insight to themselves. I love Robert Frost.

Mr. Frost was exceptional. His poem, "The Star-Splitter," was my first glimpse. I remember reading it on a poetry website thinking that nobody I've read on here writes like that. Then, I got to its end, and that's when I learned the author's name was Robert Frost. Been a fan since. ✌

I love the positive vibes of this poem or may be that's how I perceive it... To commit a mistake is actually one step towards your growth. That is how you groom yourself, you learn what is in for you or not.

A hard-decision, I think of this poem. "..and that had made all the difference" (Other 2 of my fav poems are: 'Go all the way' by Charles Bukowski and 'if' by Rudyard Kipling)
This poem was read at my brothers funeral. The lines... "I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence" stuck with me. That was ten years ago and still they echo. Great channel, excellent for stirring the emotions. Thank you

I still remember when I was taught this poem in school in grade 9 in India. Out of hundreds of poems and texts I have studied, this is the only one which I remember perfectly. This poem touched my heart at that time too and these feelings are back now. Thank you Robert Frost Sir!
I hate you for this. I've been having a really tough couple of days...but I try to stay happy and positive (I'm pre-med and everyone in school is an anxiety riddled mess so I try to cheer everyone up and calm people down) but I realized a couple weeks ago that college is just like high school. Not in the sense of academics or anything if anything academics is the only thing keeping me sane but people. I have this poem in a box when I was in high school that I keep under my bed and I haven't thought about it for a year. This poem hits deep and makes me feel like I have someone and I clicked on this video to have some noise in the background while I studied and as soon as I heard "yellow wood" I lost it. This poem make me tear up everytime. If I can't even fit in at place that is literally designed for people that think like myself than how will I ever have anyone on my road. How he apologizes for being himself how he is basically saying that he wishes he could be a person "traveler" that they can like and love. How he doubts himself day by day wondering if the path he choice was a path worth the pain. He is a traveler left with his doubts and a road with no one on it. Only thing keeping him going in the end was himself.
There is a bench in a nearby graveyard with an excerpt from this poem. I would go there to sit and think. One day, I decided to look up the man whose grave I had wandered to for solitude. I found he was an English teaching major, just like me. We attended the same college. It was very affirming to find that.

Beautiful work. This poem has long enchanted me especially. It says clearly that both roads "both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black"; thus neither had been taken before, and yet the narrator, looking back with a sigh, tells himself & others that he took the path less traveled, thus adding a nobility that wasn't really there. And yet, maybe it was. It's all very muddled and confusing, like our human lives. Thank you for bringing this poem to life.
This is one of my very favorite poems. I read this last year. This poem can be easily mis judged, we might think that the poet chose the 'road not taken' and that has made all the difference. But as we go through the poem it's clearly stated that both the roads were worn equally. The sigh in the end is how we tell our stories in the end. However the truth is we would have said the same even if it were the 2nd road.

Additionally love the positive comments from as many as the eye can see and references to other works/quotes (many more moments of reading right there!) In all honesty I only read this poem for the FIRST time on the 14/02/2020 on another social media site. The very same day, earlier, I put myself out there and I spoke in front of a number of parents at my son's school (the idea was to persuade more parents to attend school events and talk about/be aware re mental health with their child/children). I may not have been so eloquent, but I spoke from within. One of the 'bravest' things I've ever done, my message wasn't received well by all, but my intent came from a good place! On the back of that 'vulnerability', I came home, did my usual scan of the internet and came across two posts, one by Brene Brown (about daring to lead) and the other Robert Frost's (The Road Not Taken) and how it had been a favourite of JFK's. From one 'tormented' fellow to another I share the following poem I wrote (Dare to Read), not to cast any shadow on your post, but as I felt compelled to. I don't comment on many UA-cam videos, only if/when I'm blown away, inspired or humbled. Robert Frost wrote this for his poet friend Edward Thomas. Thomas would always have difficulty making a decision which path to take when he and Frost went on walks, so he made this poem to make fun if him a bit. After all, the roads they took had worn "... about the same."

Having watched most of your creations I can't resist noting some critical observations- the pastoral aura pervading the poem was disturbed by the presence of the automobile- the machine. Plus, it could have a black and white screen to start with that would gradually take in more and more colors.
I read it in my school and till now it creates the same feeling that it did some 10 years ago, one of the best poem that echoes the condition of everyone who can relate with it
Robert Frost was never saying one way was better than the other because it wasn’t taken. He was saying both were worn about the same, and basically saying it didn’t matter which one was done with. Hope this sends you off well. Take care!

beautiful as it is so true, Thank you ... I travelled to the Yukon, in northern Canada in my youth. The goal was to stay 2 years and leave with a pile of money. Forty five years have now passed, I still live here (but for an occasional winter escape), And as years rolled I did ok, and I found much more than a pile of money. There is an unofficial anthem song of the Yukon called "Land of Gold" find it for the love of choosing a thousand miles of dusty road. Jim V
I'm not really familiar with Robert Frost. But it's a nice poem to hear and watch anyway. For some reason, the moment I hear the music, I feel like, "This! This!" and I think I refer to how the music, once again, fits the scenery and the poem. "I doubted if I ever come back" line comes up with a scene of dried, cracked land. And you know, when you read poem and you feel the 'punch' out of it? That's when I feel the punch. Also, since I'm not English native, sometimes I really rely on the screen text. I don't know if it's just my connection, or are the texts coming bit later than the poem? It can be synchronized better. I hope this doesn't offend, I'm sincerely loving this and all of your videos. Thanks 🙏 As for my thoughts , rather unedited but as it might often be the case when purging., It's a long one..☺️ A world full of easy answers is a world limited to easy questions. Conversely, the big questions can lead to big discoveries or have us wrestling with yet another paradox. There was a recent TED talk where the host asked the audience for a show of hands for anyone whose had a gut feeling. All hands went up. The question was then posed - How many of you, who having listened to it, were glad that you did? Again all hands went up? How many of you regretted listening to your gut instinct on any occasion? Not a single hand went up. Perhaps it seems rhetorical question to be asking, given what might appear obvious, assuming of course that you might easily imagine yourself there, answering those very questions, however, what was surprising to me was the rubber necking that occurred in the room. Gut feelings - Gut instincts - yes ! Others have them too! Where do you begin to speak of these? Aside from anecdotal reference, it’s most likely you don’t. It’s the stuff best left for presenters at TED, if only because our instincts are uniquely our own. These are shaped and honed in our own life school settings. It may start with fight, flight or freeze but may soon develop beyond the immediacy in front of us into something of much more long range potential. We may be at a tipping point very soon with respect to the subject of you and the subject of me. Atheists, even the soft shoe varieties like Sam Harris would have us entertaining the idea that free will is illusory. Visionaries like Elon Musk, would have us entertaining the idea of transhumanism as our only hope to keep us safe from the inevitable realizations of artificial intelligence. He makes the case first for the stick and then with the carrot. There would be big advantages to have the quantum processing powers behind our eye lids, interconnected to our very thoughts. This is a world with interconnected technologies of every type by this point. It is assumed that any manufactured product during this time period must meet a minimum of acceptable standards. Interconnectivity, even at its conceptual minimum, could not have you opt out of the basic package. It’s inconceivable that you could know when it’s safe to cross the street on foot at this point. And why would want to carry that risk? You might cause an accident for someone else. That’s a question of resources. When it’s a question of resources, it’s often an untenable question. After all, the value of the many outweighs the value of the few. So then, free will. If it doesn’t exist, then by all means, give it away freely. If my paradox, is your paradox? Then may we live with it for as long as we live and for as long as we can.
Just as you say brother I'm sure every living person has faced such choices big or small. And it's up to us with our meagre knowledge and understanding to make the decision.
It feels so lonely and frightening when you know that not a single person in your friends or family will understand these types of deep meaning poems...
The funny thing is, the reason why Robert frost wrote this because he was walking in a park and met two roads he wrote it because of literally no other reason, but there are so many different ways you can interpret it

In all honesty I only read this poem for the FIRST time on the 14/02/2020 on another social media site. The very same day, earlier, I put myself out there and I spoke in front of a number of parents at my son's school (the idea was to persuade more parents to attend school events and talk about/be aware re mental health with their child/children). I may not have been so eloquent, but I spoke from within. One of the 'bravest' things I've ever done, my message wasn't received well by all, but my intent came from a good place! On the back of that 'vulnerability', I came home, did my usual scan of the internet and came across two posts, one by Brene Brown (about daring to lead) and the other Robert Frost's (The Road Not Taken) and how it had been a favourite of JFK's. From one 'tormented' fellow to another I share the following poem I wrote (Dare to Read), not to cast any shadow on your post, but as I felt compelled to. I don't comment on many UA-cam videos, only if/when I'm blown away, inspired or humbled. Sending much love, keep inspiring, blowing away and staying humble my friend:
Dare to read
A simple message, but to send,
My intention was not TWO offend.
Incredibly brave or completely stupid?
A very, vulnerable, valentine, not just anybody's Cupid.
I spoke from heart and from gut,
Perhaps my words so eloquently put?!
Just see the effort teachers and schools put in,
So not to work together would be a sin.
I'm JUST a parent, the new kid on the block,
My purpose not to guilt or shock.

This poem is my favourite. the first time I know this poem was when I had Literature class and we were talking about this. Our lecturer asked us to find out the meaning of this poem. And of course, we had so many thought about it and the way we conveyed to our friends.

Robert Frost wrote this for his poet friend Edward Thomas. Thomas would always have difficulty making a decision which path to take when he and Frost went on walks, so he made this poem to make fun if him a bit. After all, the roads they took had worn "... about the same."

i just live to have a good story,or to find one. life that isn’t troublesome wouldn’t have the twists that make it enjoyable. when all of us are moving to the same destination,why then care about the end rather than the story itself.

Having watched most of your creations I can't resist noting some critical observations- the pastoral aura pervading the poem was disturbed by the presence of the automobile- the machine. Plus, it could have a black and white screen to start with that would gradually take in more and more colors.
I read it in my school and till now it creates the same feeling that it did some 10 years ago, one of the best poem that echoes the condition of everyone who can relate with it

Robert Frost was never saying one way was better than the other because it wasn’t taken.
He was saying both were worn about the same, and basically saying it didn’t matter which one was done with.

Doesn't matter which was better... After ages..he'll know that it made all the difference.. you can take it either way.. and that's the beauty of this poem!

I travelled to the Yukon, in northern Canada in my youth. The goal was to stay 2 years and leave with a pile of money. Forty five years have now passed, I still live here (but for an occasional winter escape), And as years rolled I did ok, and I found much more than a pile of money. There is an unofficial anthem song of the Yukon called "Land of Gold" find it for the love of choosing a thousand miles of dusty road. Jim V

Beautiful a Path, a Road, choice side by side
I'm not really familiar with Robert Frost. But it's a nice poem to hear and watch anyway. For some reason, the moment I hear the music, I feel like, "This! This!" and I think I refer to how the music, once again, fits the scenery and the poem.
"I doubted if I ever come back" line comes up with a scene of dried, cracked land. And you know, when you read poem and you feel the 'punch' out of it? That's when I feel the punch.
Also, since I'm not English native, sometimes I really rely on the screen text. I don't know if it's just my connection, or are the texts coming bit later than the poem? It can be synchronized better. I hope this doesn't offend, I'm sincerely loving this and all of your videos. Thank you for sharing them with us 💙

A world full of easy answers is a world limited to easy questions.
Conversely, the big questions can lead to big discoveries or have us wrestling with yet another paradox.
There was a recent TED talk where the host asked the audience for a show of hands for anyone whose had a gut feeling. All hands went up. The question was then posed - How many of you, who having listened to it, were glad that you did? Again all hands went up?
How many of you regretted listening to your gut instinct on any occasion?
Not a single hand went up.
Perhaps it seems rhetorical question to be asking, given what might appear obvious, assuming of course that you might easily imagine yourself there, answering those very questions, however, what was surprising to me was the rubber necking that occurred in the room. Gut feelings - Gut instincts - yes ! Others have them too!
Where do you begin to speak of these? Aside from anecdotal reference, it’s most likely you don’t. It’s the stuff best left for presenters at TED, if only because our instincts are uniquely our own. These are shaped and honed in our own life school settings. It may start with fight, flight or freeze but may soon develop beyond the immediacy in front of us into something of much more long range potential.
We may be at a tipping point very soon with respect to the subject of you and the subject of me.
Atheists, even the soft shoe varieties like Sam Harris would have us entertaining the idea that free will is illusory.
Visionaries like Elon Musk, would have us entertaining the idea of transhumanism as our only hope to keep us safe from the inevitable realizations of artificial intelligence.
He makes the case first for the stick and then with the carrot. There would be big advantages to have the quantum processing powers behind our eye lids, interconnected to our very thoughts. This is a world with interconnected technologies of every type by this point. It is assumed that any manufactured product during this time period must meet a minimum of acceptable standards. Interconnectivity, even at its conceptual minimum, could not have you opt out of the basic package. It’s inconceivable that you could know when it’s safe to cross the street on foot at this point. And why would want to carry that risk?
You might cause an accident for someone else. That’s a question of resources. When it’s a question of resources, it’s often an untenable question. After all, the value of the many outweighs the value of the few.
So then, free will. If it doesn’t exist, then by all means, give it away freely.
If my paradox, is your paradox?
Then may we live with it for as long as we live and for as long as we can.

The funny thing is, the reason why Robert frost wrote this because he was walking in a park and met two roads he wrote it because of literally no other reason, but there are so many different ways you can interpret it
