  • Communities in northern Greenland have lived in one of the world's toughest environments for centuries.
But temperatures have risen faster in the Arctic region than elsewhere on earth, and the impact of climate change is being felt on the local way of life.
Greenland‘s ice cap is the single biggest contributor to global sea levels rises and what happens to the ice sheet and glaciers will impact the rest of the world.

I am totally in favor of global warming. I hate the long, cold winters in Vail, Colorado, where I live. So a year ago I began focusing on increasing my carbon footprint. Thus far I have been able to raise the average daily temperature in Colorado by 4 degrees. I will continue increasing my carbon footprint until I am able to grow palm trees on my property. I am glad that America is still a free country and I am free to increase my carbon footprint.

Another example of the BBC inciting climate change hysteria!. 1200 years ago, the Vikings settled Greenland because the climate there was much more clement and the land was much more ice free, hence the name "Greenland". The treeline in Northern Canada was about 100 kilometres north of where it is now and the Domesday Book, records that there were almost 50 vineyards in England because the climate was much milder and suitable for grape production around the turn of the first millennium. From around the beginning of the 14th century, the climate turned colder making settlement of places like Greenland and the Northern British isles like Orkney and Shetland no longer viable. IF, we're seeing a change in the planet's climate, it's NOT going to be the end of the world as the alarmists continue to tell us, it's simply a natural process that the planet continually goes through.
Censorship is alive and well in Britain, NOBODY is allowed to question this kind of apocalyptic, hysterical reporting which is creating a generation of depressed, neurotic young people who have been convinced by organisations like the BBC that the world is coming to an end!!!!

Maybe look into the climate models that the anthropogenic climate change arguement hinges upon. If you can find one thats even remotely accurate since they were first produced then please let me know, as (seriously) Im still looking. I do not dispute that humans have some effect on the earths climate, the point is it is likely nowhere near what is suggested by the mainstream and the models.

As regards the melting of Arctic Ice, the records nearly always seem to start in 1979. Strange that, considering it was a year of record extent for Arctic Ice. Even so, data from NOAA (2022) show winter (March) ice coverage has hardly changed since '79, and that the summer (September) coverage trend had stopped declining since 2007. How inconvenient! Didn't someone predict in 2007 Arctic ice free by 2010, or 2015, or 2013, or in 5 years? Or was it in 2008 the Arctic ice sheet would melt away. Also predicted in 2008 North Pole ice free in ... 2008 ... or in 10 years. 2009 prediction: Arctic ice free in 2014. 2012 prediction: snow will be gone by 2020. And 2013 star prediction: Methane catastrophe in 2 years because of ice free Arctic. 2018 prediction: zero chance of permanent ice in Arctic by 2022. It's still there, and it's stopped shrinking.
If you consider global sea ice cover, it was basically flat from 1981 to 2008, rose until 2010, stayed level until 2015, dropped until 2018, and then rebounded almost all the way back to the 1990-2000 average. Nobody predicted theses changes, nor can they explain them. The changes have no relationship to the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere.
    The climate crisis/emergency/apocalypse is make-believe.
Multiyear ice is an unproductive habitat as far as marine organisms are concerned: first year (seasonal) ice over continental shelves is the most productive and this is where the vast majority of polar bears, seals, fish, whales, and sea birds are found. Therefore the decline of extremely thick multiyear ice (>4 years old) could be seen as an unconcerning development with regards to the wildlife in the region, especially since 2-3 year old ice that can be used as a resting/hunting platform for seals and polar bears hasn't declined in summer since 2007. In fact, biologically, the Arctic is in good shape with all its regions showing a positive trend in primary productivity over an extended period (2003-2022). This has resulted in more food for seals, walruses, bowhead whales and polar bears, which are hence maintaining or expanding their populations.
There's no "death spiral" in the region as some people reported. In fact, there is, as I say, no evidence of any crisis/emergency. That is silly nonsense designed to scare people.

Who are 'you' to speak for us all?
If 72% of Americans now believe that climate change is a real issue, you can bet your every penny that a yet higher percentage of Brits believe climate change is a real issue too.
I personally know of only one British family (a neighbour) that doesn't believe in climate change. Then again, they didn't believe Covid was a threat either - until it put them all in hospital and very nearly killed 3 of them.
Everyone else I know believes in it. That's not to say that all of them do much about it. Some have started to, and to start someone is going in the right direction.
I'm guessing that you're probably very old, too old to care, thinking you deserve to do what you like and it's younger generations that should do all the work to undo the damage you did in your younger days.
What a legacy to leave to your children and grandchildren - an attitude of carelessness.

Propaganda. Greenland Total Ice Mass Balance (1986-2022): declines to 2012 but increases to 2022.It was certainly warmer during the Holocene Climatic Optimum, so during our current interglacial. If you want a citation, try Quaternary Research Volume 53, Issue 3, May 2000, Pages 302-311. This makes the point that it was upto 7°C warmer on the shores of the Arctic during that time, with trees growing on the shores of the ocean (which would have been ice free in the summer), far to the north of the current treeline.
The northern coast of Greenland was, during parts of the Pleistocene, warmer by double figures than today. The summer and winter average minimum temperatures of 10 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees C, respectively, were more than 10 degrees C warmer than present day. I think it was a maximum of 19 °C warmer than today. Remarkable.

Climate operates on a waveform-like frequency, so does everything else in this world. There is a peak, and then a dip. This pattern is continious, hence why they speak of 'ice ages'.
EDIT: Wikipedia states this - "modern history" refers to the history of the world since the advent of the Age of Reason and the Age of Enlightenment in the 17th and 18th centuries and the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.
So if you agree with that definition, then we can both agree that the data collected (coincidentally) is only collected up to the start of the 'enlightened ones'. Do you deny current atmospheric concentrations of CO2 are over 30% higher than they were about 150 years ago at the dawn of the industrial revolution and in the same time span the average global temperature on Earth has increased by about 0.8° Celsius (1.4° Fahrenheit) since 1880. Actually take the time to read the Bible throughout one day, and you will see it is full of inconsistencies. In addition, take the trouble to read Hindu, Buddhist and Ancient Greek holy/mythological texts - and you will come across a stupefying number of stories that seem eerily similar...
That's when you discover that the bible is nothing more than bare-faced plagiarism, most stories taken from much older texts, from much older religions (religions that pre-date the biblical creation), and all this muddled up with a very tiny amount of history and a good many 'fisherman's tales.'
My relationship with christianity ended when I was 8 years old - when watching the school rehearsal for the nativity.
I wonder if you can guess what it took for me to suddenly realise that the whole christian thing is just a load of old rubbish, that no one is going to save you, that god does not exist.

I know there's a war going on in Ukraine right now but I still think that they should be focusing on more important issues right now like LGBT rights, climate change, BLM, abortion and refugees.

The above chart, “Marcott reconstruction”, shows the temperature variance during our current interglacial period. If you were to erase the data gathered since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, you’d see that our interglacial period was coming to an end; however, current global temperature increases began with the CO2 emissions brought about by increased industrialization.
