Can we just acknowledge that Dragon Ball starts with Goku at age 11 and the threats and lifestyle is very different from Gohan’s. Goku met Bulma at 11 and Gohan killed Cell at 11. You can’t compare Goku’s upbringing to Gohan’s, which if the author wanted Gohan could have been the new Goku but he literally didn’t write him that way

But the series doesn’t let him stick with that. DBS keeps teasing us with the same “Gohan forgets to train and now he needs to train again” like they won’t give us peace. I just want him to go somewhere (which the Super manga does seem to be doing)

As a Z Broly AND Future Trunks fan, I feel personally attacked. Rage boost is dumb and doesn't make a lick of sense, crying baby backstory is lame as hell but these two characters are fun. Everyone forgets Z Broly is an entertaining and petty person. He literally goes out of his way to troll everyone once the control crown is off. Future Trunks in just Z is an amazing character and was an excellent foil to Vegeta in Android and Cell Saga.

I’m a Gohan fan in general, however, him being main character doesn’t fit the personality, he’s cool, he has a roll, he won his battles and got peace for a while, and he shows up if he is needed.

Gohan transformed both times expressly because he was angry at himself for being weak or unwilling to fight, which got people hurt or killed as a result. Even before that, it was those very things that prompted his rage boosts. Gohan may not like fighting on a serious, do or die level, but his dislike of it is nothing compared to his sheer hate of his weak self. An in-character Gohan wouldn't let power diminish knowing another threat could come at any time. Unless he's just THAT stupid to think that wouldn't happen and even dumber to let this happen THREE times.

I feel like a lot of people hate on DBZ because of the fandom, and not because they’ve seen the actual show. It’s kind sad, cause not all the fans are the same, and it does suck how a good show like this gets called overrated or hated I’m because of how a lot of fans are with the series. I love DBZ, and I can respect people who don’t like it, but it’s just a show and we should just have fun watching it. Not everything is about who wins in a fight vs who😭

As a Zamasu fan, i just like his portrayal in games. First introduction to him was in DB Fighterz and they just skip all the filler lines, crying, and other stuff and just have every character specific line be a roast or hyping himself up. Plus his english voice actor is absolute peak so even when he's screaming it sounds "know your place shorty" "where will you turn to aid now? the past? the future!?" "the countless blasphemies you have lain at my feet " Man just has some sick lines. At least imo. After watching the show, he does come off as a lot less in control and cool and i can understand why people dont like him. But in the games where they have to cut all of that out? The man makes his prescence feel godly and for some reason, all of his OSTs in games are bangers for no reason. In Dokkan, he gets a rock song and in Fighterz, he gets a choir of people chanting his name
And as a Z Broly fan... I think he's cool :p I like that his role was just the tank of DBZ. Just an unstoppable force the literally walks through signature attacks. The crying was dumb. Not actually stated in the japanese or english that the crying caused his hatred like most say. It's... not a line. But I just like that a character is pure chaotic evil taunting enemies and random people unlucky enough to be in front of him... also he says more than one word and im not... sure where the misconception of that started. Even in the second Broly movie he speaks coherent sentences just doesnt talk as much... Z Broly has a lot of weird misconceptions but i love that he was just the pure evil tank that everyone had to figure out how to stop when he shows up

He's a dude who was apart of the greatest fighters on earth and was once in the ranking of worlds strongest heroes and now is just one of the strongest humans specifically under Tien, Krillin, and Roshi. He sees that the power of everyone is increasing to unreachable hieghts, tries, fails... twice (Vegeta's training chamber and getting stabbed by Gero), and after helping fight Cell Jrs realizes that he is just no longer cut out for this and goes back to his dream of being a successful baseball player. He puts on a tough face and its part of his charm but he knows he is nowhere near on the same level as anyone anymore even in the games. Yamcha is one of the few DB(Z/GT/S) characters I could see just being bros with. I dont wanna laugh at him

Gohan is my favorite character, but it is his personality that makes it so. I like his whole thing of having near limitless potential and his rage was cool with Cell, but I love characters that want more than just to endlessly fight and I love the action hero that doesn’t even like fighting or what have you.
Plus, his general personality and his want to be a scholar. I like that about him too, as I like smarter characters who can also tussle if needed, but would rather not.
Those things are why I like Gohan. The idea of a character who could reach insane heights in power that doesn’t want to as he has different interests is something I like.
And I don’t want him to be main character either, not saying it would be impossible to make it work though. But yeah, as he is, he’s not suited in my opinion. Goten is more suited given what the manga is doing with him and Trunks currently, personally.

I grew up a Gohan fan being a Toonami kid of the late 90s. I always loved Goku, and eventually Goku became my favorite after watching OG DB and seeing Gohan get shafted so many times. Now even with Beast Gohan I don't hold my breath he gonna do anything of substance.

I am a fan of: Tenshinhan & Chaozu (worthy of being #1 for me) Freeza, Goku Black, Z Broly and Kid Boo. The rest I either like or not (Cell all forms). Z Broly was a sadistic MF killing machine and I loved it he was the ultimate definition of his race. The back story is also good and I feel it would have made much more sense if Broly hated the prince more.

We've been over this. Sons of SSJ level fathers, one of which was actually an SSJ when he was conceived. Of COURSE they can go SSJ with little effort. And funnily enough, the S-Cells BS Toriyama made up to cover for the girls retroactively validates the boys getting SSJ easily, albeit we already knew it had to be good genetics from their dads.
I prefer Videl as a character over Chi Chi by a significant margin, but according to a 1991 weekly Shounen jump information guide, Chi Chi had a power level of 130.
Kid Goku had a power level of 10. Oozaru Kid Goku in the emperor Pilaf arc had a power level of 100 because the Oozaru multiplier is at 10x.
I seriously cannot believe for one second that Videl can take down, or is anywhere near to Oozaru Goku, even if at the emperor Pilaf arc.
If you are talking about the anime, and not the manga, then the case is even worse for Videl, in DBZ episode 204, Videl is not strong enough to free herself from a mere pterodactyl, who Oozaru Goku and probably Kid Goku would have no trouble with.
Also Chi Chi definitely scales above Nam, a Nam that could jump several tens or perhaps hundreds of meters above ground. Videl has no such feats.
Of course, this is pre flight lessons from Gohan, and ki would have strengthened her, but she is definitely still not beating Oozaru Goku.
Though in a fight, I do believe it would be a stalemate, neither of the two have an effective win condition against the other, Videl could just eternally remain in the air - she seemingly loses the stamina issue by the 25th Tenkaichi Budokai even after the ten days of direct training under Gohan. She could also just fly away.

Heres my take on the gohan fans (being one). When dbz was brought to the usa it was only Z. We didnt get DB. So i was born in 1990. I GREW UP alongside gohan. I watched him become what was clearly baiting him to be the future of the franchise. Up to cell, only having Z, it was the obvious end goal. Hes who everyone wanted to see during Buu. Not goku. Of my gen. In context with DB it would have made more sense. But with only Z it felt like a slap to the face. Especially cuz he was the guy.

Ive been watching DB again since Daima was announced. And i just got to cell getting blasted away by gohan to end it all. And i will say that there was a FLASH of a moment that i feel gohan could have been the MC and continue. When cell detonated and came back, gohan went back go ssj2 and was ready. Fully the embodiment of young goku. Start of the fight gohan was hesitant and "i just have to believe in myself like my dad...idk if i can do this...blah blah blah." But when cell comes back he doesnt hesitate. Hes ready to go. What funny enough put him back in background character status was gohan rescuing vegeta. Cuz when he was injured he started doubting and heaitating again. By the end he doesnt feel like the MC for sure. But there is a flash of a moment that he actually could have been and his character could have become more goku like. Build off that confidence. But nope. Cuz when goku fought king piccolo he lost use of 3 limbs and used his last without ever doubting. Gohan lost one and couldnt do it without coaching. I think gohan COULD have become more like goku in that regard. Hes the age goku was when the series started (11). But it is what it is.

Here's a hot take for you. Frieza was way stronger than a 120 million. Goku used a 20 times kaioken kamehameha when he had 3 million battle power. That took him to 60 million power. The Kamehameha boosts his power by 2.5x meaning that attack that half powered (60 million) frieza tanked was nearly 150 M attack potency. Then Goku used a spirit bomb on that same leveled frieza. The spirit bomb had to be at least double damage so how did frieza at 60M tank a 300M attack?
It's called not putting headcanon multipliers.

Another comment on how “plot” can undo feats and affect the story. Gohan needing to go super saiyan to his his identity but we had characters with powers getting speed blitz on Namek and even as far back as original Dragon Ball but Gohan needs super saiyan to stop robbers. hes cool but a plot hole symbol, future timeline had androids ruling for 13 years even tho they're stated to get bored and kill right after yet gohan survived that long, bulma pulled a time machine out of thing air , gohan didn't think of a game plan during all those years, he had a senzu handy for trunks but didn't take one before that incident for whatever injury blocked him from his much needed zenkais, basically with how dragged on the timeline was gohan shoulda been strong enough to kill them , doesn't make any sense
@@IIIISai I disagree how Gohan survived isn't a plot hole somebody probably died in order to save him plus this is Gohan after the Frieza saga he was probably still a lot weaker than Goku then Goku died then the Androids pulled up and killed everybody plus it never said they died all right away plus Android 17 in the meantime I said he likes to toy with his opponents 18 did the same thing so even if you fought them and got a zenkai he would only be around their level of when they were holding back and it said the sensor beans are hard to grow because in the Majin Buu saga in the cell saga it was not a lot of them in the cell saga I believe there was only like seven so if it takes one year to grow one bean there will not be much especially if he had to go in hiding too because in the sayain saga Goku only had 3 and on his way to namek he had six and he ate half of them so sensor beans don't grow a lot so even if you did have some beans and if trunks listened he would not have lost an arm Gohan contemplated taking the Bean for himself anyway and let's say you're saying saga Vegeta and you're fighting final form Frieza but he's only using less than 1% of his power and you get a zenkai from that you will not be strong enough to take him at 2% 4% or any higher because then guys only rise to either slightly above the thing that almost killed them or it's at the same level and The Time machine you could say was that plot hole and it's hard to think of a game plan when you can't sense the ki of your opponent and you don't know how strong they are and the only way they would know where the Androids were is news reports the only plot hole you could say is a time machine it's not a plot hole because she invented one it's a pothole because of the multiple timelines not the invention itself plus when I was younger getting jumped 5 years straight does it mean you'll have a good game plan for more than one person fighting you at the same time 2 v 1 one are very difficult in my experience especially because two people can have different strategies to take out a strong opponent let alone both of them stronger than you celestial on mostly focused on 17th so I think 17 killed piccolo plus there's three years of Gohan probably not training as much so Gohan was most definitely a little bit weaker than namic
@@aanviirhindthuum5574 that's a great breakdown and I agree with alot of your points but we have a misunderstanding,.When I said different game plan it wasn't for jumping but rather a different solution , the future timeline 13 years is longer than all 4 sagas of dbz combined, during that time the fact the androids didn't get bored and destroy the world already was very plot induced, or that bulma comviently made a time machine after gohan died, and during the other 12 years how couldn't she have already made it, about the senzu bean he just comviently had one for the explosion but during the 13 years didn't even use it once, with that amount of beatings he shoulda been stacking zenkais or dead because of internal damage, gohan also has way more potential than goku, I just don't think toriyama thought deep enough into it, heck we can assume gohans final fight with the androids was his 2nd one, toriyama didn't really showcase them fighting in the past so it's all speculation at this point, king kai didn't call or goku? When namek dragon balls exist, bulma can make a time machine but not space pod? I love the arc but it wasn't really done well in the timeline aspect Idk man

Id say that teen gohan fans are more annoying than adult gohan fans. The only reason why adult gohan fans seem annoying is cause they are obsessed with teen gohan and what he did in the cell saga and they want that for fohan going forward. The one thing I would change most is changing where jiren fans are ranked because they are up there as annoying because. I think you're using logic on why you would like him when we're talking about Dragon Ball Z fans. Every fan of that character likes him for the sink that he is cool they think he's one of the best things that came out of super they think he's one of the best things that came out the show they feel like he deserves way more screen time they believed he was home they believe, that everyone else is dumb for not liking him. And they also believe that you are dick sucking if you think his story is similar to any of the other characters with similar backstories to his. Fans definitely are a big reason why the series gets critize the way it does. All my life, I didn't think their was a fanbase more hated than the goku fandom. What's crazy whoever your favorite character? You have to hear how your favorite isn't better than theirs and laugh at you.

I know that although he is not the main, he got a lot of protagonism in super, but cmon U know that every time Toriyama (rest in peace) and Toyotaro were looking for an excuse to do Vegeta so dirty, and give the kill to Goku. Remember RoF saga? or Hit saga, when they made Vegeta look vastly weaker and even dumber than Goku? In Black saga, he almost got the kill, but o-oh, fusion appears. And guess who was there to scale merged Zamasu, who was supposed to be much stronger than Goku and Vegeta? ToP was another humilliation, they gave him a nonesense power up, and worst of it, it didn't do anything relevant. Frieza could have eliminated Toppo, like he did, and the result would've been the same. But the worst shit they did to him was Granolah saga. They had us in the first round, thinking that he would beat the first antagonist. He showed his super dupper transformation and got beaten in 5 minutes. That's wild even for Vegeta. At least he is still relevant as Goku's training partner, not like Krillin, who was totally forgotten (W character, btw, at least in OG an Z)
To keep it simple most dragon ball Fans are not anime fans act like it’s the only good anime and it angers everybody. Not saying one piece fans are much better but we acknowledge other good anime
