    James I think I got an interesting challenge for you! Instead of building a single house that 8 Sims can live in, why not make 8 trailers on a single lot? A mini trailer park! I think it has some potential like maybe some fancy nice upkept trailers and a few run down trailers, I think it would be fun to watch for sure.

      Me too. 2x3 is a perfectly reasonable size for a small single bedroom. Sometimes I'll even cut out one corner if it'll allow for a bit of extra space elsewhere... the sim gets a single bed + one activity (stuffed toy / easel / etc) in the 5 tiles, that's plenty! 😄
      (I even tried out a 4 tile bedroom once - in the impossible challenge - but ended up deciding that nothing but the bed was just too cruel. So I upgrade it to 5 tiles... 😂)

  • @CarinaCoffee

    Ok when you put a toddler bed I feel like you need to put down a bathtub *and* a toddler potty.
    One thing I've been wondering for a while now, especially watching lilsimsie's builds and now this, is it normal to put carpets underneath dining tables? I never would do that, imagine all the food stuck there. I get this makes Sims houses more structured, but I find it totally odd and unnatural.

    • @skyechimes658
      @skyechimes658 4 роки тому +48

      To prevent scraping on floors from chairs and stuff yes it’s normal to have an area rug with a tight flat pile under a dining room table. The type of rug I describe is pretty easy to clean w/ a good vacuum and carpet cleaner and you should replace it more frequently then an area rug elsewhere because it will wear.

    • @CarinaCoffee
      @CarinaCoffee 4 роки тому +41

      @@skyechimes658 but that's what those little felt stickers are for, you just stick them to the chairs and job done, there's absolutely no need for a rug.
      Maybe that's just a cultural difference thing, I'm in Europe and we usually have wooden or tile flooring especially in living areas, thinking about it, I'm only used to rugs in front of sofas and maybe a bed.

    • @skyechimes658
      @skyechimes658 4 роки тому +16

      Carina S yep now that felt tips are a thing you don’t see this as much anymore, but it’s super common in certain design aesthetics from before those were a common thing so people keep doing it. Also some people worry about foot traffic wear on their floor (this is why hallway and stair runner carpets are a thing too even though they are basically a tripping hazard imo). I personally am not a huge fan of area rugs in places I might trip on them but you asked why some people do it.

    • @superfansophie
      @superfansophie 4 роки тому +10

      We have kitchen table that doesn’t have a rug under it, tile floors. But there is a formal dining room that has a rug, wood floors. Heavy duty chairs and table in formal so it just makes more sense and looks nicer to have the rug. Only used for special occasions of course lol

    I personally love when you build in real time because you're so good at building its easier to follow along and cool to see how you do certain things during real time

    When it comes to garbage cans you can also use the discover university garbage chute that costs 0 and is "bottomless" in play mode so your garbage doesn't overflow and doesn't give sims a negative buff. also saving you the 220 c:

    James you should do a challenge like this but cheating! Like use debug for cheap or free items, or use the tiny home cheats to place walls so it doesn’t count as a room/tiles

    Challenge idea : now use a random amount of money to do a first pass renovation.
    The way you would do if you were playing and your sips got into some money so you can afford to jazz it up a bit but not a complete renovation
