This is how I tailor my pants to wear with sneakers. The ankle on both pairs was around 8.5 inches and we tapered it down to 6.5. The fit of the jeans and khakis were really good minus the ankle and thanks to my man Mike that is now fixed! Thanks for watching! Like, Comment, Subscribe & Share!

you didnt give any tips besides just going to a tailor
he said that 6 and 1/2 around the ankle was a good fit for sneakers.
That's the only tip you need. After that it's just a matter of getting the measurements and fit that you prefer.
501 tapered, 502 slim tapered, 511, or 512 Levi. Just buy your size from jump, no need to buy 65$ jeans and pay to take them to the Taylor and pay another 20$ for work, ridiculous
If you dont want to pay a Taylor? Rubber bands. Just like the old school fold, tuck, and roll method. Get a good and thicker style rubber band. You can buy packs of however many for a few bucks. They'll hold up for a month or 2 before they snap from over stretching.
Life is simple, why would he make something simple complicated? And he does give info on the sizing, but you need to pay attention.
When your tailor has the logo tattooed on his hand you know he's the real deal.

Been getting all my jeans done like this for 26 years, won't wear them any other way. Used to go down to a 6 inch bottom but now a 7 inch bottom but also make sure your jeans have shrunken up as much as possible before getting them tapered, bout cut off my circulation to my calves back in the 90's.

SAY NO TO BOOTCUT JEANS. I drove around the city tryna find a spot to do this at and everyone wanted $20 at the minimum. That shit is ridiculous cause these 511s only cost like $20. I borrowed my mom's sewing machine and after half a day of tutorials online I learned to how to taper my ish. You just measure where you want your taper to start down to the hem (outer seam for each leg) and sew that bitch. For example Levi's 511s 32x32 have a 7" leg opening. Even just 1/2 inch off makes a huge difference in the fit.
Yeah it's better to just learn instead of taking all your pants everytime

I think 7 ich is a pretty good look for the ankle of pants 6.5 maybe to skinny for boots but 7 inches works for boots and sneakers

Great vid! I'm a female w/ thick thighs & I HATE the constricting feel of skinny jeans. So I bought straight leg jeans & had them tailored using the 6.5 inch tapered opening like u mentioned. They came out perfect!!!!

Dope. I had 3 pair of jeans that have been sitting in my closet for 3 years because there were too big around the ankles and length wise. I was getting ready to take the pants to goodwill or some consignment store. Your video saved me from doing that and i will get them taylor'd to my liking. Much respect!
If you cant get that done? I use rubber bands around the bottoms. Just like the fold and roll method. Just easier, and stays all day without any rerolling throughout the day. Get a decent rubber band. A thicker one too. You can get um in packs. 50, 100, ect. I'm pretty sure. They'll hold up for a month or 2.

How much does it cost to get your pants tailored
Christian Brown From an experience customer: $26 for hemm and in-seam and $14 Hemm and $18 for in-seam alone. price varies from tailor to tailor. How much are you willing to pay for a full or partial alteration. I opt for a combo B.C. it is cheaper.

if you got selvedge denim, dont bring em to any tailor, especially if you want to keep that selvedge. Most tailors taper from the outseam. To keep the selvedge but still have them tapered, you should bring them to someone who could taper from the inseam. Not much people can do this. Railcar Fine Goods is one of the only places that specializes in it.

I've been doing this for 2 months now with random old jeans I find in my closet. Great look b! Also it saves you money when you shop cause you could buy straight leg or whatever which is much cheaper than skinny for some reason then get it tailored. Nice video like always my G!!!

I'm only 14 and so I'm still growing so if your like me I would be careful getting pants tailored because they might get too short. I'm short so my true pant length would be a 28 or 29, but since I am still growing I get a 30 length and I Pinroll all my pants.

One question? Does he just alter the leg part? I love how they turned out at the bottoms. Can tailors take a little of the baggy-ness around the rest of the jeans look more slim too? Like I'm imagining them looking great at the bottom but maybe a lil weird up top near the crotch n the back pockets since they were bootcut originally or is it a minimal or not noticeably different ?
Mines are 30 length and still at times they look to long for my shoes with lows looks perfect but with tops I just don't like the look of it
