This episode has one of the best Darryl lines ever. "It's LeJon Brames". The way he so casually corrects Dwight as if it's a common mistake and Dwight doesn't even bat an eye. It gets me everytime.
I thought it was L'Damian Washington? EDIT: Today, I learned L'Damian Washington is a real person (though he played American football, not basketball).
To me it is a solid episode, one of the highlights of the season - 4/5. I love the cringe, love James Spader's and Ed Helms performances, love the gym subplot, the whole Jim running away and Creed in the rooftop is gold, cold open solid and LOVE Maura Tierney since the Newsradio days. I really liked how you shared a bit of your personal life and I am genuinely happy for you and your wife. I am right now in the middle of a messy divorce and it makes me happy and hopeful to see good people like you that can actually make it work. Keep up the work man
Agreed. Mrs. California gets a 10/10. At first glance, the Robert California character steps out of character for this episode. But, there are many situations where someone who's got it locked down professionally doesn't have it together in his personal life. That's just the way it goes.
Wow your wife looks shockingly similar to Amie from Superstore. Well if that is actually your wife in the video. She ever been told she has a dopplegainer out there?
TBH, this is not at all my favorite episode. Some humor, but just kind of dull. 2/5. But hey dude, kudos on the fact that YOUR wife is definitely hotter than Mrs. California! 🙂
Andy being torn apart was fun, but the real gem for me from that episode is Jim running away, I was crying when I saw him going up the lader for the first time 😂
This is the best appearance of robert california imo. The incomprehensibility of what he wants at any moment makes for some pretty great comedy. I thought it was one of the best of the season
Yeah I think 3/5 is fair. One interesting line that adds a lot of context for me is when we learn that Mrs. California met Robert when she worked for him. Maybe he has a habit of getting involved with people at work and she wants to keep an eye on him. Or maybe their romance is fizzling out and she thinks she can rekindle old flames by working together again.
Jim was so self-confident in early seasons , but after getting together with Pam, she becomes so shy and stupid in awkward situations. Maybe writers didn't want him to be so perfect and added some lack of courage to his personality
I really appreciate these field guides but the analysis of your marriage in these vids gets a little cringe. I get it. I'm married too. But I see a deeper meaning behind it
"You lying son of a bitch!" That scene always kills me

The gym is pure gold.
The gym for muscles and Jim pushing himself back in his chair are 2 top bits
Agreed. Mrs. California gets a 10/10.

Creed on the roof was gold. There was high energy and tension from the Mrs. C. plot. I'd say 3.5/5.
Did anybody else hope that there would been follow up Andy-mrs california affair arc?
i actually fucking love dwights gym
I don't Think I open a Book and let the Reading do the thinking for Me
Down bad mulverine is very funny

I’ll let her know that we agree on that point.
Jim trying to escape and Dwight's gym were the good parts, rest of the episode kind of forgettable. 3 out of 5 is a good rating for me.
I always felt so bad for Andy in this episode
I always felt bad for the series because of this episode.
That’s fair

Unpopular opinion but the way Jim *nopes* out of the frame when Andy throws him under the bus is my favorite moment in the entire series.
Completely agreed
I don't know what the general consensus with the rest of the fandom is, but I have always viewed that scene as an absolute gem.
This is the best appearance of robert california imo. The incomprehensibility of what he wants at any moment makes for some pretty great comedy. I thought it was one of the best of the season
horrible episode. a moral deal-breaker for Robert California

Chris, I love your videos and I appreciate how much work you put into these videos it really shows!
Pretty much the ceiling of a season 8 episode for better or worse
I don’t agree about Mrs. California but your wife is so pretty! With all due respect
i love when you mention your wife 🥹
I love the way you talk about you and your family, you seem like a really good guy, keep te good work!
"I'm the f-ing Lizard King", is definitely a good tattoo ideia from this episode!
This was an episode that really made me dislike Robert California as a character. He’s still one of my least favorites in the entire series.
Jim was so self-confident in early seasons , but after getting together with Pam, she becomes so shy and stupid in awkward situations.
Maybe writers didn't want him to be so perfect and added some lack of courage to his personality
The part with your wife was sweet 🍒
Has Maura Tierney’s mouth always looked like that? Her upper lip looks a little like a duck bill.
And in this episode Robert California fells in a downward spiral into madness.
You should definitely have more subscribers! Consistent quality across all your videos
