I wonder if a rivalry will form between Talaria and Suron that will lead to each company accelerating in developing innovations that will become implemented in their upcoming models.
I love seeing more options of fun, functional e bikes! I don't see the Talaria being different enough to swap from my Sur Ron, but if I was buying fresh it would probably have the edge just because of the size and being able to fit a wider rear tire.
I've had both sur-ron and Talaria. I own a Talaria now, it's more comfortable because it's bigger and the battery cover blends in with the seat more like a regular dirtbike. In defense of the sur-ron I don't think there are problems with the belt secondary drive until you add way more power x3, if then. My Talaria came with CST full knob tires. I'm pretty sure the owner of that bike added the Shinko dual-sport tires. I use the same tires and a 52 tooth sprocket.
Lost me at oil change. I put over 7000 miles on a 72v Segway x260 in less than a year just ripping around on my free time. Running 15000 watts, only thing I’ve had to replace is the tires. Sure to each their own, but the hype for the surron/Segway is there for a reason. Great vid tho! Love the content and loved the review
Agreed. I have had a SurRon 2 months and already did 2000km. My motorcycles are hardly used at all now. I even charge the battery for free using a solar panel.
Actually, now I did a ride and review of the first Talaria Sting in Thailand I really like it. Oil change in that gearbox is no issue really, very quick 120ml every 1000Km. It's stronger frame is nice. However I am keeping my Sur Ron as the Talaria is too expensive here, as it's a lot more for some reason. The Sur Ron is more agile and flickable.
Agreed, I just reviewed the Talaria on my channel, but prefer my Sur Ron which I use every day now and did 2000Km in 2 months and honestly it's better handling, more flickable.
Add a comment... Grit Red 1 second ago You said turning radius is shorter but because the sting has a wider front the steering bumps up to the fatter front and there wheel does turn as far. The back has play in the bolt. The gear box is yet to be proven less maintenance as it may be a failure point. The reason the sting has more punch at the low end is because the throttle was not mapped properly. The throttle is not considered an improvement as it is more difficult to turn and people complain about it. the motor was shown in a break down to be identical except for a couple small inconsequential differences. The battery is more power per pound so that is considered a higher power density. the seat is considered to be more comfortable but the bike weight makes it more difficult to throw the bike around and load into a vehicle. these are from comments i’ve read fyi.
