Back in the 1960s, Ed Roth replied to a letter that I sent to him regarding fork length/rake. Roth told me, "If your forks are over six inches, take them off, put shorter forks on and then go out and have fun with the bike." I'll stretch a frame's downtubes (a little) but I'll always leave a frame's steering headstock alone. I also believe in running decent front brakes. This is a great road bike. This video is very informative. Thanks.
I think Performance Machine once offered an aluminum wheel which had a similar design as the front wheel on this boss Shovel. I think PM called it a "Chicane" wheel. Tom Fugle (El Forestero MC) ran a similar front wheel on his Evo chopper. Back in the early-mid 1970s, I saw a few NorCal HA bikes which were featured in Easy Riders mag. Those bikes featured mild fork extensions, no rake and high mid controls. I've liked that style of bike ever since. I remember Steg, Paul Cox, Scott Wong, and Indian Larry when their bikes were featured in the old issues of Iron Horse magazine.
The quality of your videos is amazing. It’s insane you don’t have more subs. Definitely dropping a sub keep up the good work man. You already able to be monetized gotta start the vlogs soon.
I saw this bike and thought, Maxine, glad to hear you mention it too.
Just bought a 1980 Super Glide, can't wait to get her running and go down the road this spring. Love the content bro!
You make the best videos Ben, Thank you
Very cool bike! Big fan of Indian Larry too.
