vp played so passively until round 16 and didn't take any risks. Then all of a sudden they took risks and confidently went on bombsites with more than a minute on the clock and scored rounds. Surprise! Congratulations to Wildcard, a well-deserved win, even though they ruined my picks. I was only missing one pick, it was all down to vp xD
Does anyone else feel like the Top 20 teams used to be WAYY more fundamentally sound in like 2018 compared to today, where I feel like I see most teams making such rookie-ish mistakes???? EDIT: rising talent pools across the board DO NOT explain rookie-esque unforced mistakes that i feel I've noticed from most top20 teams this year.
No, the problem is we associate certain Orgs with their past. Now with advent of new CS2 mechanics the meta is changing, as it changes the old guard is going to get left behind if they do not change their play styles. Not to mention majority of these Orgs that have had success in the past have all new players.
@@NathanLimbacher Holyy so true, people cant comprehend this. Also its the fact that players are getting better and better as time passes. You can see this in so many different e/sports.
@@NathanLimbacher nonono, I'm not saying the "old gold cs teams" used to be good and now arent. I'm saying I feel on average that ALL teams are fundamentally less sound than the average was in like 2018. nothing to do with the orgs or whatever, I just feel like im seeing so many teams with bad coordination or rookie-esque mistakes. I also 1000% agree that talent will only ever increase, and players on average better now than before. But this doesn't explain to me many teams' lack of coordination that I (think) I'm seeing. remember when G2 had a nice looking team with the hooxi, niko, monesy era? but somehow they were losing to on-paper worse teams and making VERY rookie mistakes? thats what I'm feeling from more teams NOW than before. then again, my recollection could just be bad.
@@cubic_regentno, this is something I also feel like I see. For example, feels like I see so many more deaths because of uncleared corners or assumptions that a player can't be in a particular location, so on so forth. Not sure if there's any data on it or if I'm crazy
Awesome to see the progress Wildcard have made and where they had to come from to get to this point.
I really need them to beat UA, battle of underdogs is going to be a fun watch I hope. Hopefully no one deflates Phzy's massive balls before then.
Man, my pickems are so royally screwed. This major has been wild!
Watching Stanislaw this game got me nostalgic for 2019 EG at ESL One New York
