- Two-time Women's World Cup Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Kelley O'Hara announced on Thursday, May 2 that she will retire from professional soccer at the end of the 2024 NWSL season. The U.S. Women's National Team great closes her international carer with 160 caps, three goals and 21 assists and represented the USA in four FIFA Women's World Cups and three Olympics.

I am only 18 years old, I play football as an amateur in Turkey, and when I watch the matches played in the American USL league, I am sure that I am more talented and better than all of them. How can I transfer here? I don't want any money, I want to improve my English and gain experience. Anyone have any ideas?
Hands down, one of the greatest US players of all time. She gave 110% every time she laced them up. Thanks for the memories, Kelley

Gonna miss you,Kelly O! Been a fan since Stanford and with our FC Gold Pride! Still have a picture of Stanford night at one one of the Pride games. My daughter was in one of the pre-game clinics and they posed with you,Barnie, Buehler,etc.etc. Good times!

With Kelley playing right back I never had a worry on that side of our defense. Baller. Tough as nails physically & mentally. Smart. Dedicated. Team player. She will be sorely missed but the memories she's created are etched in my mind. A true winner

Kelley was a stronghold, a beast, a superb right back, our backbone, a brilliant play maker, a fierce but smart challenger, and more, for the WPS, USWNT, and NWSL. I loved watching her play for years and years, but I guess it's time to hang up the cleats. I am sad in this moment, but like she said in her most recent Just Women's Sports youtube video, " 'But as they say, 'Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.' And I know there will be a lot of tears by me and probably some of y'all, but I hope there are more smiles."
Once the shock wears off, which might take a while, I know I will be glad and grateful to watch her play for so many years and to represent our country.
