As much as I like EQs, I'm starting to feel like most of the new ones sound the same and are copying, or at least trying to, copy Fabfilter's ProQ3 so I just use that and not think about it too much. Sure, some EQs that are modelled after hardware sound different a bit, but the difference is too small to be noticeable so I just avoid them as much as I could and try to focus on the music.

Thanks. I have this and really like it. But I'm considering the Maag EQ 4 for its sought after "air". However, I'm getting really good results with this. The nag in my head... like all gear is whether I'm missing that extra edge I need? That said: have you ever used or compared the Maag against this? They seem similar.
@@Homestudiosimplifed Thanks. I just put the W495 through the ringer. The sheen and depth is incredible. I also did more research and found out a dirty secret with the Maag plugin - it does in fact add gain across the entire region from lows to highs. But not this with its auto-gain. :)

I feel similarly, I am really impressed either way SmartEQ by Sonible which is pretty on par with ProQ3.
Pulsar makes good stuff
They do. I bought into them two years ago. I'm very pleased with their quality in every way from the product to the company itself.

Fair enough! I have not used that plugin but I guarantee you that the sound you’re looking for can be achieved still!
