I've been watching their stages for Villain and the screaming and fan chants seem to be getting louder with each new stage... which really brings me hope! I totally agree that they should be a household name.

about ella's absence in villain: she's currently in hiatus due to health issues (since predebut we've seen her having a leg injury so i think that's the problem) and they decided that she wouldn't participate for this comeback.
pixy are definitely a really underrated girl group but they're slowly becoming more popular! album sales increased A LOT for this comeback and most nugu stans know about them. they went viral a lot of times for their AMAZING choreographies and for how good their debut wings was (you should DEFINITELY check out their debut song wings, that song introduces you to what exactly pixy is)
also, there is a really interesting lore behind the mvs that you will better understand watching their worldview videos available at their official yt channel in a playlist. you should watch those in order from wings to addicted to understand the timeline (would LOVE to see a reaction hehe)
and if you want to stan them you should check out their small series 'PIXY TV'! they each have a 20-minutes long documental about themselves, how they each prepared for their debut and how they ended up in pixy. all the videos have eng captions (something i love about pixy is that ALL their extra content videos such as behind the scenes have eng captions)

While Wings is not my favourite song at all, I still think it's one of the best choreos in kpop of all time.

Ella is taking a hiatus or break for the cb which was Villain, so she's not in any promo for it unfortunately. Hopefully she will be back next comeback :(

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES YES!! I clicked so fast when I saw the notification, I'm sorry but this has to be my favorite PIXY Music Video everyone loves Bewitched and I mean I do too but this is just EVERYTHING! This Music Video was just a literal masterpiece, these Girls are INSANE the Charisma that they have is crazy (you just found the hidden gems of K - Pop)! All of the Rookie Groups are just Insane Aespa, PIXY, Purple Kiss, etc they all are just AMAZING and their Vocals, Visuals, Dance, Rap, and just everything is just Phenomenal! (Not in order from Oldest to youngest Sorry!) Sua (Second youngest, the one who started the Bridge with the orange/red hair) even though she didn't get a lot of lines but what she did get she killed it, Ella (Oldest, the one with the silver bob hair who was on the temple) went INSANE on the Vocals and the Choreo just WOW, Dia (Third youngest, the one who started the song and who was buried alive) went off on the Visuals her Rap and the Choreo of course, Satbyeol (Third oldest, the one with the deep and husky voice/the second one who rapped) was INSANE on the Rap just Wow I absolutely love her deep Voice and her Adorable face and yes she does sound like Moonbyul, Lola (Second oldest, was the first Rapper who was in the room where it was closing) also went off on the Rap and her Visuals are crazy and don't get me started on her deep Voice as well, Dajeong (Maknae/Youngest, she was the one at the table with the pinkish hair) she was just WOW I was not expecting that hair from her at all and her Vocals were just Amazing (you guys got pretty much everyone down)! Anyways I can't wait for you guys to react to more PIXY such as More Music Videos, B - Sides, Live Performances, Covers, Dance Practices, Moments, and of course Ships! I can't wait for more Content from you guys and I hope that you both are doing well and staying safe and healthy!

If you ever need any good Videos I can totally help you out with that if you need it, also I reacted the exact same and I agree with you pretty much with everything they're INSANE like I said they are so Underrated it's not even funny they reall are hidden gems, let me just say it I'm Addicted to them (also y'all should definitely check out Wings and The Moon you will LOVE it)! Also y'all haven't seen nothing yet you guys should definitely check out some of the Gay moments in K - Pop (especially the girls they go all in, and sometimes it really is suspicious like I would not act that way with my friends but okay!)
Hello. A little update on the group: members Ella and Saetbyeol have left the group due to health reasons. The label decided to add a new member, making them a 5-member group. The new member is Hwang Rinji, a trainee at AllArt. She was born in 2005. Her face hasn't been revealed and she will make her appearance in their upcoming performances in the US.
If you like the dancing, you should watch "The Moon" which is a b-side, but it is so impressive (not to mention they did it 100 days after debut), but also watch the dance practice video, because you can't see some of the choreo clearly in the mv. Ella did a cover of God is a Woman, that just showcases how strong her vocals are.
They come from a small label named Allart and this company has just Pixy as a group so they believe in them and each comeback they increase their budget specially in the mv, you can see the difference from their mv debut Wings, then 1rst comeback with Let me know, the mv upgraded and then Addicted = Premium level in their 3rd comeback and in one year, the progression is so amazing!
You should go with this order: Wings , The Moon , Let me know, Moonlight (animated and then live version)! Also we expect a new video in a week or two!
If you’re looking for a pretty recent & comprehensive guide, fellow kpop reactor and huge PIXY fan The Safe Cave made a really good one recently (Feb 2022). It’s an hour and 10 mins long but really in depth and informative.
Addicted is one of my favorite PIXY songs ever!!!!!!! I miss Ella and Satbyeol sooooo much :( I wish AllArt would promote these girls better, because they have SOOO much potential to blow up, so why haven't they blown up yet?! Ugh!!
If you like Pixy I recommend you Dreamcatcher ! They also are a little bit underappreciated but their discography is really top tier in the industry. They’re officially in the game as "Dreamcatcher" since 2017. And the song I recommend to you at first is "Scream"

I just recently got into them a few weeks ago and they’ve already become one of my faves 😭 they just bring something so different I’m glad you guys found them because it’s crazy how underrated they are. Also I’ve been watching some performances and their stage presence is really good, especially Ella and Dia
They shoot 4 mv in their Temptation album = 3rd mini-album, 4 mv of the b-side of this album: Bewitched's mv, Moonligh eng version mv and Stay with me's mv. They have already done this for their 2nd abum Fairy Forest: They released a mv for The moon, b-side of this album, so they had so many mv in just 1 year, they debuted in February 2021
There was nothing specific mentioned about Ella’s hiatus, just health issues and their producer did mention that she needed some time for herself.
She had a pre-debut leg injury, that’s been a reoccurring issue so that might be part of it. But also during some of her last vlives and interviews she was really absent and not really talking much. There’s even one interview where you could see her exhausted and dozing off throughout. They were doing a ton of traveling and promotions right before her hiatus, so that could’ve been what took it over the edge.
I do hope she comes back, her powerhouse vocals are something that no one can replace. You’ll see once you start getting into their covers.
To answer why they aren't as popular, AllArt is a new company and PIXY is their first group. They don't have YG/SM/JYP money. These girls are underdogs in the Kpop industry but they prove time and again that they can hold their own lyrically and vocally and with choreo and stage presence that is truly outstanding.
We weren't given many details about any exact reason for Ella's hiatus but both physical and mental health were cited in the statement the company made when they confirmed she wouldn't participate in Villain and their current promotions. I just hope she's resting well and takes all the time she needs to come back stronger than ever!
As a Winxy, I feel sad that Ella and Satbyeol left the group. BUT NEW MEMBER ALERT WELCOME RINJI TO PIXY :D

Why isn't Pixy a household name?
Pixy suffers from what I call Dreamcatcheritis. I don't know if you know who Dreamcatcher is, but pixy shares a lot of similarities with that group.
First, they're from a very small, unknown company. This means that they didn't get the insta-fans and huge debut hype that groups from larger, more popular companies get. When JYP, SM or YG debut a new group, _everyone_ knows about it. Even mid-tier companies like Starship gets more hype because they've been around for a while. All Art? Who's that? Pixy debuted with very little buzz because nobody knew who the were or where they were coming from. In short, unlike groups from larger companies they had to start from zero.
Second, while All art isn't afraid to spend money on music production and MV's, they don't have a gigantic promotion budget. When a group from one of the bigger companies debuts or has a comeback there are billboards, bus signs, UA-cam ads and so on. Pixy, not so much.
Third, dark concepts aren't as popular in South Korea as they are here in the west. Obviously this means there won't be as much street hype surrounding the girls.
Because of all this, groups like Pixy don't get the initial boost of notoriety in SK that pushes them to get more internet recognition. UA-cam's algorithm is based on views, likes and comment activity. If a group gets of ton of these things they are far more likely to show up in your recommendations and a group that gets very little. As such , groups like Pixy has to rely more on word of mouth and reacters like yourself to get the word out.
It's not so much that they're underrated. Everyone I know who's discovered them is addicted to them (pun intended). The problem is that they are over looked. People don't notice them unless they stumble on them somehow or they hear about them from someone who has already stumbled on them.
Like I said, Pixy is very much like Dreamcatcher in a lot of ways. Everything I said above about Pixy is also true about Dreamcatcher. They came out of nowhere, they were a girl group with a non-mainstream dark concept and, to make things even more difficult, they had a non-mainstream rock inspired sound. It took Dreamcatcher almost 4 years to hit mainstream in SK and it took another year or so before they got their first music show win. Hopefully, now that dark concept girl groups have become more acceptable, Pixy won't have to face that type of uphill battle.
If you haven't checked out Dreamcatcher yet, you really should, especially if you're liking Pixy's dark concepts. DC are considered the queens of dark concepts. They were literally the first girl group to fully embrace the concept and stick with it. They have a very different sound, obviously, because they use a lot of rock elements in their songs.
Anyway, this is already too long and you're probably getting bored at this point. I'll finish by re-suggesting that you check out Dreamcatcher. You won't be disappointed. Start with their MV for Odd Eye, one of my favorites. If you like that, we'll go from there.

Please check out Ella's Whitney Houston cover. It obviously takes a TON of confidence to even attempt something like that, but she owns it and absolutely slays it. Her talent is unbelievable, hope she's well and can perform safely again soon. She's born for it.

People have been mentioning an injury but leaving out the fact that AllArt's statement also mentioned "personal stress". And physical always heals faster and easier than mental.
The fact that she hasn't been able to perform or participate in the new album and missing the opportunity to visit the U.S. for the first time (Otakon) can't be helping her personal stress at all.
So she's been on hiatus since January. Over 6 months. I'm hoping and praying Ella has the strength and the will to return. Because I don't just want Ella back, I need her back. And this is coming from someone who is ot6.
I know in other groups some members came back a year or year and a half later. I don't want it to be that long but it at least gives me hope.

Seriously i think the same everytime i see them like how they are so underrated. Maybe bcoz they are from small company and we all know money runs this world and important factor that they don’t appear on main platform.
It's actually pretty cool that they seem girl crush, but that's not actually their concept. They just do straight up horror without the typical girl crush lyrics. They just go lore heavy
Also second all of the Dreamcatcher recs if you haven't listened to them, they have been around a tad longer than Pixy but are still underrated as hell as far as kpop goes, similar small company. They are also a dark concept group that i'm sure you will both fall head over heels for. Pixy and DC fandoms tend to overlap a little. If you haven't heard of them I recommend Scream or Boca first.

Yo I am so happy you've fallen for them this much. This comeback was the first time I bought all three versions of an album, just because I wanted to support these criminally unknown group.
I hope they can at least steadily become more known and loved, just like Dreamcatcher (which btw are the ults of a lot of people who also like Pixy and if you like powerful women doing darker / serious concepts and also having a (very) diverse discography with banger after banger, you should check them out. They just got their first (and second) win after 5 years with their latest comeback.)

As far as dancing goes if you haven't watched any dance practice or fullcam music show stages yet, you're in for quite a surprise. Because what you see in M/Vs is like barely 10% of the full effect. I recommend you to check out Intro + Wings dance practice in order to get the magnitude of the actual performing talent of Pixy.
Think it's weird they're posting things like covers and dance practices on a Patreon when those things don't get taken down on UA-cam. :/

I want to second Dreamcatcher and Scream, since you keep mentioning enjoying dark-vibe girl groups. They've been doing dark and scary since 2017 when NO ONE else was doing it for the next few years. Scream is about bullying, the first part of their Dystopia trilogy with Boca (hate comments) and Odd Eye (warped internet reality). One of their members Handong was absent during Scream and Boca doing a project then the travel restrictions in 2020 but they welcomed her back in a big way. They made her the star of their self-made m/v Poison Love the members produced themselves to feed fans. If you tack that on after any title track it will show you Handong and a whole other side of all members. Cheers 👍
side note for the algorithm: Since Dreamcatcher are awesome they put members' names with the lyrics in captions for Scream and other m/v's, here's a short guide to say their names confidently if you decide to react to them: Si is pronounced 'she' and all their vowels are ee, oo, or ah except the 'doe' in Handong. JiU jee-yoo, SuA soo-ah, Siyeon she-yawn, Handong hahn-dong, Yoohyeon yoo-hyawn, Dami dah-me, Gahyeon gah-hyawn. side note 2: It's okay to be struck down by Dami's deep voice or all member's visuals/intensity it's not the main thing fans love about them but we know.
