I don't think X7 would come to mind, mostly because it's mixed with reviewers and many of the criticisms were justified, i.e., the game's manual blatantly telling you you'll start off with X, but you have to unlock him.

How about that one journalist who couldn’t get past the tutorial in Cuphead? Now how long do you think it took Dean Takahashi to get past the tutorial in Cuphead? Five minutes? Ten minutes? How about half an hour, specifically, twenty six minutes. It took him 26 minutes to get past the tutorial in Cuphead. Game journalists this day and age are incredibly dumb, and even some online game reviewers and guides get stuff wrong, like obviously IGN who said in their Legends Arceus online guide that Psychic-Type moves are useful against Skuntank, when Skuntank is immune to Psychic-Type moves because its part Dark-Type. The Legend of Dragoon. 74 Critic Score/86 User Score. The game is great but every critic hated it because it wasn't final fantasy and had to actually pay attention with the addition system.
Soul Calibur 4. Namco try really hard to make it a perfect conclusion to the series. By giving us an epic final battle between Siegfried wielding Soul Calibur & Nightmare wielding Soul Edge. But like its predecessors. Each character has a story of their own, with alternative endings. The downside is that players hated the character episodes for being short, when they could’ve lasted for 8 stages. At least the opening of the next game does show the final clash between Siegfried & his cursive past as Nightmare. Which was better than the entire game centering on Sophitia’s children.
