Simply WoWtastic evocative performance extraordinaire - Mr.Vaidya’s nimble fingers flying at Suddha Dhanyaasi n the stunning non-stringing Outro piece at Vaakulabharanam. The euphonious Darbaari Kananada reminded me of Rafi sahab’s ‘ Jahan gardishon se ….’ Song where he touches his unattainable high notes! The Allegro piece of Revati-Sindhubhairavi gave goose-pimples ! The whole programme & the talented virtuosos made my day today, the12th Nov, 2023 ( Diwali ). I think it is the first and record making performance where Veena ,Sitar, and Western instrument like guitar came up in a single Veena. It is also a mix of three styles... Carnatic, Hindustani, Western that came alive...perhaps this is a historical moment in Music world

instrumental music gives soothing touch to the mind than vocal that too carnatic music. you will go to the trance on hearing the instrumental music. even the western instruments such as guitar, mandolin, once used to play the carnatic music you will forget all the troubles at least for sometime. it all depends on the person who plays the instrument. Mandolin is one example where U. Srinivas ,alias Mandolin Srinivas , has mastered the instrument and played the carnatic music which is immemorable. he is the pioneer in using the mandolin for canatic music. Ghatam, dolu gives a different sound. IN the world how many instruments are there god only knows. so musicians playing instruments may try like AR rahaman.

Oh good god! I have never witnessed a Veena concert as electrifying as this one. As they say, there can never be one dull moment when Rajesh ji has his hands on the Veena!! He is truly a magician with that instrument. My heart pounds, tears roll, and the soul becomes green with boundless joy when I listen to this concert.
