- This video is about my little camping trip to the Wadi Rum desert. To be honest this ride was a turning point after finally getting my mojo back following my leg injury at the GS Trophy. After playing in the sand, I parked Chillie for the night, set up my tent, picked up some dry bushes for a fire, cooked a meal and admired the billions of stars in the sky. Unforgettable moments.
In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.

You have brought back spectacular memories of a visit to Waddi Rum almost 30 years ago. I was taken to visit several traditional tented homesteads and the hospitality was amazing. Out in the desert I also experienced the most profound silence I have ever 'heard', no wind, no water, no people ... but then the peace was broken and I looked for where the noise was coming from - it was the flapping of a bird's wings as it flew past.
Awesome scenery, I take it that the sand is quite deep hence the sand bags over the pegs. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could go back 50 years at a time to see how the landscape has changed over the years or even centuries. It obviously still gets quite cold at night-even in the desert. You are so amazing how you stay so calm and yet you are so far from home, on your own and in the middle of nowhere. Well done you! What a marvelous achievement. You are an inspiration-

Had to pause at 6:30 WOW the horizon. Not a bad place to get stuck. A tip... Keep a small stick about 4-6" long to put under your your stand. Sometimes a glove works too. Your videos have a good mix of civilization and remoteness. Cheers🤘

Btw what kind of compressor do you use? I noticed that most of what I was able to find require more amperes than CAN BUS can provide and I would have to remove the farings to connect it directly to the batery. Or do yoíu connect it directly to the battery?
