“Dance you, do you, but with structure.” - I love that! Adult bodies have such limitations and differences vs the nimble kids! “Progress over perfection” as perfection is so elusive and requires a lifetime of training. All wonderful- thanks for sharing your time and experience!!
Hello. I love your videos as they are well-explained and also fun to watch. I need some clarification: do I need to keep my core muscles tense/engaged all the time while dancing?
Tension, by definition, is what we try to eliminate as much as possible by creating tone. Now in this aspect lifting from the central area of your pelvis is what you need to be AWARE of and every movement you intiate lowering/rising to feel that you are balanced and lifting out of your pelvis. Watch this lesson a few more times to help understand and feel. Fundementally your hips will be in a balanced position when you move.
The way you Present theory with practice adds to my learning. It makes sense. Thank you.
Great thanks Vaughan
