  • Of all the fish species where I live, the pollack is the one I most like to hunt for. The big ones are quite shy and stay in the background. At the same time, they are curious and can come close if you just wait calmly and long enough on the bottom. In this video, I mostly hunt pollack, but I also catch some cod and scallops. Which fish is your favorite?
    All film materials are from my hometown, Molde in Møre og Romsdal.
    All recordings were made with Gopro Hero 7 Black. Please share the video, give it a thumbs up and subscribe if you like it. Thanks for watching.

    I love your videos. Next august is my 3rd time traveling to Otrøya island and this time Im bringing a speargun with me for the first time. Had a blast freediving for scallops last year there. Can I ask you what gun do you use hunting for pollock/cod. Im thinking about purchasing Salvimar metal 85 cm gun. Thank you!

      Hi Ondřej, and thanks for your comment.
      Otrøya is close to where I live (Molde) and I've been there many times. Very nice place.
      I have a Frivannsliv Hunter 95 gun, and I am very satisfied with it. It is precise and powerful enough for the hunting I mostly do: Cod and pollock.
      What you should think of when choosing a speargun is the power and range. That is determined by the length of the gun and the thickness of the rubber bands.
      In my experience, a good range can be decisive especially when hunting pollock, because they are not always easy to get close to.
      Having said that, I'm no expert at all on spearguns, and I'm sure Salvimar Metal 85 is a good gun.
      Wishing you the best of luck...

    nice video,
    Question; do you often lose a spear? how many spares do you take with you?

    • @PASKSpearfishing
      @PASKSpearfishing  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you very much.
      I don't lose spears often, and I don't carry any spare when I hunt. I have some in reserve at home, but if I lose one while hunting, the trip is over...
      I am careful to go over spear lines, mounts and other equipment before each trip so that I am sure that everything is OK. That saves me from a lot of agony ;-)

      @@PASKSpearfishing Väldigt tacksam för svar! Hur lång bottentid brukar du ha när du jagar? Jag är ny i fridykning och spearfishing

    • @PASKSpearfishing
      @PASKSpearfishing  2 роки тому +2

      Det er mange faktorer som har innvirkning på bunntid: Vanntemp, strømforhold, dagsform, om man er komfortabel på 10 m dybde, etc...
      Det kjedelige svaret er: Ikke fokuser så mye på bunntid, men heller på å være komfortabel og beholde roen i vannet. Jo mer ro, jo mer bunntid.
      Når det er sagt: Man behøver ikke lange bunntider for å få fisk, men om du klarer rundt 1 minutt så kan du se fram til massevis av fangst i Norge.
      PS! Push ALDRI grensene dine om du ikke har med kvalifisert hjelp i vannet!
      Lykke til 🙂
