As a fellow aspie... I love how he's always so well put together and polite. Any woman would be lucky to have him. Good luck Michael! Can't wait to see you find your perfect person :)
I love how ‘Love on the Spectrum’ is teaching us all who didn’t already know about Aspergers. It’s a fascinating insight, I am surprised at how different everyone is with their Aspergers, the spectrum is obviously very big. It’s a wonderful education, and I really appreciate it. Everyone on the show is so beautiful. This is an Iconic show! I recommend everyone to watch it!
The laughing sort of sums up the issue I have with Love on The Spectrum- I know they weren't being cruel, but they need to remember, Michael isn't joking. He's being honest.
I know what you mean, but I found myself laughing out loud multiple times and I'm not laughing AT them, it's just that they're SO cute and that's my natural response
Now that is a gentleman. His tips are for all and are received graciously by me. He’s such a joy to watch. They all are. I love this show. Thank you Ellen for spotlighting this amazing group
Did anyone else notice that on Season 2 when Michael dates Heather, that it’s Michael that is asking ALL the questions and doing all the work of conversation? I re-watched it and it’s true. Heather doesn’t ask Michael a single question, ever. What a lot of work that would be for anyone to keep a conversation going. Good for you, Michael! Obviously you’re much better off with someone who knows how to reciprocate and ask YOU questions about interesting self. Your special someone is out there somewhere. You are a lovely gem!
She's on the spectrum to. Do you understand how difficult it is for some people to even have a conversation? Allot of people with autism are completely non verbal. I'd have no problem dating someone who didn't talk allot
Heather is also on the spectrum and we don't know her experience and how she deals with people. It's still a show and we don't know everything. I wouldn't judge her because of that - I certainly don't like that she kinda ghosted Michael but we don't know the behind the scenes. I noticed that too but I stopped myself from judging further because if there's anything this show helps us do is that.
I love the show Love on a Spectrum......It makes my heart feel so good and there's some sweet chuckles...I have 4 family members who are on the spectrum and the cast reminds me so much of my cousins :-)
I have FASD, which is also a spectrum disorder. I have a lot of traits of ASD. We don’t get enough recognition but I feel like we’re coming close with showing the world what it’s like to have autism!
Does anyone else feel like some of the people who laughed were kinda laughing at him more than with him? Especially when he was explaining dating points
Yah, it bothered me when the audience laughed. I don't think they were intentionally being mean to Michael, but I do think those who laughed don't understand autism and just how serious and literal these people really are.
Yeah I was gonna say that Michael is a fantastic guy, but I can't help but feel he's being infantilized both in the show, and in this interview. As someone with ASD, I can't stand it when people act amazed that I can do regular things, and live a completely normal life. I understand that a Ellen lot of the audience probably mean well, but they need to treat Michael with the same level of respect that they would to a neurotypical individual.
Everyone gets laughed “at” and “with” on the Ellen show. I think people are just giving their natural reactions. It would probably come off fake by not laughing. Also, keep in mind that producers probably are the ones directing the audience when to laugh. There were a couple of awkward silences so the producers probably encouraged the audience to laugh at certain comments to lighten the mood. I think Ellen did a great job interviewing Michael and she was much more serious than her usual interviews when she’s throwing shade at her guests. But, that’s just my opinion…
Michael is so likeable I put up with watching Ellen just for him
👏🏻
same here
Haha same
Me too
Ha ha That is funny
I love Michael! Everyone should watch this show, it’s so heartwarming ❤️
Agreed 100%! Love Michael.
This guy is a pure gem. Love him!
As a fellow aspie... I love how he's always so well put together and polite. Any woman would be lucky to have him. Good luck Michael! Can't wait to see you find your perfect person :)
Im back again i just can't get enough of this guy. Michael is such an inspiration to me and truly gives me joy. 😊

The laughing sort of sums up the issue I have with Love on The Spectrum- I know they weren't being cruel, but they need to remember, Michael isn't joking. He's being honest.
Yeah. I agree with you. Then he ends up being the but of the joke, which is demeaning.
I know what you mean, but I found myself laughing out loud multiple times and I'm not laughing AT them, it's just that they're SO cute and that's my natural response
I agree. and you can see he starts to get uncomfortable with them laughing
I think he is just genuine and not laughing at him but enjoying him..
Michael is the real deal, so earnest and sincere. The laughter sounded fake, unlike this brilliant young man.
Now that is a gentleman. His tips are for all and are received graciously by me. He’s such a joy to watch. They all are. I love this show. Thank you Ellen for spotlighting this amazing group
Michael is my favorite from Love on the Spectrum!

Yeah that happens with me and I’m a guy, must be universal I guess

Yup don't forget producers hold up a "laugh" sign to the audience.
We love this show! We love Michael.
I didn't like the laughing he wasn't being humorous or funny he was talking seriously so the laughing wasn't nice at all!
Seems like there are a lot of people who are laughing at him, not with him.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they just don't understand autism and hadn't seen the show or Michael before.
I freaking love Micheal
I love him so much.
coolest Guy ive ever seen!!
The laughing when he is not telling a joke makes me feel so uncomfortable
God bless you Michael ❤

Not a fan of the dating pointers from his brother but am a fan of Michael
I feel like Ellen did this interview to laugh at him!
This seems a bit exploitative, I’m not sure how much I like Ellen and the audience laughing after some of Michael’s answers….
He's going to find his lovely lady.
