Danke, habe aber auch die Spur nachträglich gedoppelt und versetzt, damit dieser Raumklang entsteht. Aber die Live-Varinate hattest du ja auch schon gehört.
Thanks for listening, Janet. Here is the translation of my radio-show-comment about you: "we heard three different (female) composers who also performed their own songs....Two of them are so-called "amateur-recordings": The first one by Connie Converse from the mid 1950s, the second by Janet Chitty from Alabahma recorded in 2022. But while Janet Chitty - born in the 1950s - had the opportunity to get inspiration from all the pop and rock music since the birth of it, Elvis still had to record his first sun record when Connie Converse did the recording of the song featured in this show. But maybe just this makes the facination about this early music - the lack of influences by popular music and being "ahead of her time" in a way ( a term which is often over-used). It is also interesting to compare the amount of recordings of the two artists: While Connie Converse had less than 20 songs recorded which were never released during her lifetime Janet Chitty wrote over 500 songs and is active on youtube where Converse had only one performance in a now lost 1950s tv show and here recordings were only discovered by accident 30 years after her mysterious disappearance in 1974. On the other hand there are still no "professional recordings" by Janet Chitty although some of her songs were recorded by others for TV shows like "Ghosted" from 2017 a fantasy comedy series on 20th Century Fox channel. But I do not know this tv series which ran one season with several 20-minute-episodes......"
@@2009framat Thanks so much, Frank, for the translation. And once again for including me in your radio show, I sure appreciate it. I hope you and your family have a very wonderful holiday! :)
Theres a teeny bit of distortion here and there but I'm sure that can be adjusted in the preamp itself, this is no NS Design bass, but it's great value for the price imo.
Hello! Too bad you don't say anything about this bass! It sounds pretty good and i am interested in buying one. Can you say something about the bass? Good points, bad points? Do you use the support bar or not? Is it possible to hold the bass in control without the support bar? Please talk about this bass! Thank you.
Hello. as an acoustic upright bassist living in a rental house with neighbours I had always the problem that I disturbed (some) of my neighbours. So I was restricted to play and practice my instrument and music to certain times at day. I mainly bought that electric upright bass for that reason. I always would prefer to play on a real contra bass and for a fretless electric sound I would proably prefer a fretless e-bass-guitar. I like the sound of my new instrument but I am used to the big body of an upright and I still have some problems to find a stable position for playing. Proably I need some kind of device/ fixture in a long run because right now I can fix my instrument sitting on a chair with putting some wood of block to fix the end-pin. The end-pin is not stable especially if you are playing while standing. It bends too much because it is not solid (I might change it with a solid end pin - just a piece of round metal with the same diameter). Playing in the high registers the instrument has a tendency of buzzing unless you are playing very softly. Though this is a not considered unusual for an upright my acoustic upright is less "sensitive" for buzzing. That might change with better strings. The strings are not good for playing with a bow. You are getting no sound at all. I would recommend the Harley Benton electric upright bass for bassists who have problems with their neighbours and for live musicians who are tired to carry a big instrument or are afraid that their big upright might get damaged. Repair can get expensive. I would not recommend it for fans of a real upright bass sound. Bass-guitarists who are searching for a fretless sound might be better of with a fretless bass guitar. If you want to play rockabilly, or older jazz-styles you can do it with that instrument but it proably sounds too clean for authentic fans of that music. I am satisfied with the price/value. I got what I exspected. I hope I could help you. Feel free to ask if I forgot something. I do not use the support bar because it feels not comfortable to me. P.S. I am not a big fan of these video-reviews where people are talking 8 minutes and play 8 seconds the instrument they are reviewing 🙂 Best regards Frank
Hard luck with the neighbours - they don't know how fortunate they are to be able to listen for free to a master musician! I see that Paul, below, has identified "World Without Love", as recorded by Peter and Gordon and written by Lennon and (mostly, I suspect) McCartney. Keep well, Frank. Best wishes, Colin.
Hi, Colin. I think it was mostly McCartney's song. I would not be surprised if they did not record it by themselves because the bridge was too close to Marty Robbins' bridge in "White sportscoat". McCartney mentioned the Marty Robbins song in several song (but not in connection with world without love). Best wishes Frank
It certainly has a very good price-benefit-ratio. What I do not like so much is that it needs a 9Volt-batterie. I would have prefered passive pick ups. On the other hand you can play the bass without any amp over earphones and you have a seperate input for a mp3-player!!! Best regards Frank
It was almost some moralic blackmail: The couple have a one-year-old and the parents said the baby cannot sleep and is crying because of the music but in reality he is more often crying when I do not play anything. Infact he already has his own head and does not like it when he has to go to bed early I guess 🙂 I would not be surprised if we'll all cry about his music in a few years LOL Thank you for listening & commenting I still prefer my acoustic bass but if I can confirm the peace this way it is alright with me.
If it is recorded directly into an audio devices it sounds not very like an acoustic upright. It needs some recorded sound from an amp or speaker into the mix, too. Thank you for commenting. Best regards Frank
A World Without Love - yes, it is. I realized that the melody of the bridge was proably influenced by Marty Robbins' White Sportcoat. Happy 3rd advent Frank

Another outstanding performance Frank👍👍🎸🎸
The Double bass sounds great Frank!
Oh Yeah! Ya know I love when you bring out the Double Bass
Nice performance, very heartfelt, and upbeat... Hope you have been well, Happy Holidays to you..
Same to you - btw I played - more or less - "A world without love" - a Lennon/McCartney song for Peter & Gordon.
Best regards
