I 'swam' (more like waddled) to the deep end once without knowing then my sister told me I was in the deep end (knowing I can't float/swim) and then I panicked and started to drown. Confidence is quite important. It's all in our heads.
Yeah that happened to me too but my mom told me to go and she will hold but when I search for her I found out she was with my brother and then I started panicking and drawning but then a man came up and saved me . I felt like it was the last for me it was horrible actually :-\
Lol I'm here because my kids 11 and 6-year-old. Did the same thing to me and I'm 39 they told me that I was in the deep end I panicked luckily the corner was not too far off and I swam over there or whatever I did. You're right it is all in your head it's the feeling of not being grounded. It's easier to learn at a early age that's what my kids did with no help from me cuz I don't get in anything I can't stand in.
Damn. I would've just told you to come to a shallower area and said you were on the deeper end and that you were floating lol. Kinda gives you a confidence boost
I am so afraid to go down. Once my feet leave the ground I panic. I should focus on controlling myself in the water. Instead I allow the water to take control of me. It's definitely the power of ones mind and a little confidence. I hope to be swimming soon.
The fact that this guy has taught me more in 5 minutes compared to what my school taught me is actually shocking, at school they only teach you to swim laps not how to float or even equalise pressure my squeezing your nose than breathing out
In many of EU schools (specifically Nordic countries), an approved swimming test (containing: 200 meter non stop chest swimming + 50 meter non stop back swimming + rescuing a doll from 3+ meter depth) is required to obtain a grade in sport subject, and the test shall not exceed 20-30 minutes for all the 3 parts

I love your instructions. It sounds way better than the other videos I’ve watched. I’m 25 atm and I’ve never had enough balls to learn to swim. I was planning to learn through classes, but the pool is deep and that alone is holding me back from going. That and a bit of embarrassment. However, I know a hotel that has a five foot pool. Shitty depth but I’m a shitty swimmer. I just came from your other video. I’ll be trying the other one first before this one.
As someone who really wants to learn how to float in the water and afraid of the deep, I find this video very helpful and give confidence that I will be fine next time if I do this steps. Thank you very much 😊
I'm learning swimming and I've sort of got the basics, I think the last part is to learn how to float in the deep end and to get over my fear. the video initally was scary for me but watching him at the end of the video swimming down to the bottom then calmingly floating up was kind of soothing so i hope my fear goes away soon and i get to get back to swimming after Covid is over :)
I once went to one of my friends' house because they told me that they wanted to do their homework with me. But once I got there, I saw them swimming in the pool with 2 of my other friends, and then I said "I thought we're gonna do our homework together?" And then one of them said "Oh come on, we're just having fun together. Do you want to join us?" I can't swim but I wanted to join, and so I tried to float like in this video, but instead I was floating at the surface in a sleeping position and I don't know how the heck I managed to do that to this day
I used to be so scared of water and never knew how to swim. Watching this video made me gain my confidence and now i know how to float!(without drowning lol)
You should lay on your back while floating. Move your arms behind your head in the water. That will help lift your chest and stomach out of the water. Relax your legs at the knee and let the lower legs hand down in the water. Your pelvis and chest should be at water level. Breathe normally or slowly while briefly holding your breath to maintain buoyancy. Use your arms and legs to move your body through the water. You can float and swim in the water like this indefinitely without getting tired.
Thank you... I was panicking to jump in d pool... But got d confidence from hearing u that "as long as our lungs are full of air, u want sink, u will float up again automatically..." Thank u again...

How could u dive so deep like this, I once dived like 2 meters n then I felt great pain in my ears I just felt like if sthng inside it was torn like a paper
this is probably late to say and maybe you already learned, but you can see on some moments on the vid he pinches his nose. That prevents the ear hurting. Now your ears hurt because of the water pressure and if you go really deep your eardrums may explode. So what you need to do is, pinch your nose when you feel the pressure get you and then blow your nose slightly but not too harsh just a little bit until you feel your eardrums get back to their position. You will understand when you do it. sorry for late comment maybe this would help you
