- Speaking at the Republican National Convention, retired U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell made a plea for better treatment of U.S. veterans and explained why he is supporting Donald Trump for president.
He is a hero... went through hell and that hell is with him everyday. When you go through what he went through only then can you have the right to be critical of him!

He tried to bribe Gulab to not speak to about what actually happened. He cheated him out of profits from both his movie and book, and refused to promote Gulab's book which he promised he would do. And worse, Luttrell lobbied to block his asylum to the US. Don't be a Trump supporter like Luttrell who ignores facts and excuses bullshit.

They was lines of people standing thanking us for out service. I could think of nothing other than how they must have felt to get the home coming they received. From that day for when I meet a Vietnam veteran. I give them the thanks and ALWAYS welcome them home.

I don't agree with your sentiment, but if you are sincere, there a lot of ways you can 'serve'. Find a vet, or two, or more, in your neighborhood. If the vet lives in a house, and needs help mowing his yard, do it for him/her every two weeks. Help with shopping. Maybe a ride somewhere, once in awhile. Volunteer at the VA. Etc. Or, heck, the vet may just need company, from time to time. You will feel great, and the vet will be very appreciative!
Then, start recruiting family and friends to do the same thing.
(Just make sure you are not helping a 'poser'.)
NOTE: There are some things, that most people take for granted, and never really 'think' about... like taking a bath, or a shower. I don't know you, so it may take some 'gumption' on your part, but that may be something a vet really needs help with.
If you already do all of the above, I, for one, thank you!
I am honestly not trying to lecture you. You probably know what I am about to say. ... Every one has a certain degree of pride. Befriend the vet first. Then work your way into helping, if needed. While (the right kind of) pride can be good, it can also be detrimental. Sometimes its hard not to appear disrespectful, depending on that degree of pride.

As a Veteran I finally received my military veteran disability compensation, outstanding Care from VA hospital in Wash, DC and was able to obtain my college degree under VRAP. Thank you President Obama and The first lady Michelle Obama.

I am very glad VRAP did some good, for some vets. In reality, though, it was a farce. It should have been a program that allowed the vet to pick a major, tech skill, etc, and help him/her to obtain that goal, whether it took one year, _ or eight_! Or, heck, _twelve_! If a person wants to be something like a doctor or an attorney, etc, that person is not going to be able to work full time and go to college full time for such classes.
$1,4xx a month, for one year!? Pathetic!
And, it was not just the vets that did not get paid, way to many, of course, could not even complete their schooling because the program was way too short.

Here is a 'specification' from the VRAP program:
*"The program must lead to an Associate Degree, Non-College Degree, or a Certificate and train you in a high demand occupation."*
Associates Degree, key word, _lead_, which will (probably) take most people over 20 months to complete. Of course, the time can vary, depending on the person.
Non-College Degree, key word, _Non-College_.
Here is one benefit from the (past) VRAP program, (besides job placement assistance):
*VRAP will provide nearly 100,000 unemployed veterans, between the ages of 35-60, up to 12 months of Montgomery GI Bill benefits (currently $1,473 per month) to retrain for an in-demand job.*

I humbly and respectfully have a question to ask? Many years ago I seen a video recorded by the Taliban and played on UA-cam and the Al Jazeera Network. It captured the entire gun battle that Mike, Matt, Danny and Marcus were involved in. Plus the aftermath of the helicopter being shot down. It was very intense, very graphic. It was hard to watch. However it showed something very powerful, very moving. It's since became a private video. I honestly don't know who it belongs to? However respectfully saying this. I believe if it could ever become publicly viewed. It sheds the light on what our veterans go through for our country. How they fight not only for our freedoms. But fight for survival when they are ambushed and out numbered. I feel in my heart if Americans were able to see this video uncensored. It would enlightening them on how truly brave these mem are. And the fact that they fight and die defending our nation. Their are no words for me to properly say what needs to be said. God bless all and a special thank you to all our Military both active and retired.
