He'll make a few months before he's back. He just stood there looking a complete lying fool.

I have no confidence this defendant would make it to 10 months, let alone 10 years, on probation.

Thanks Mr wolf! Just watched a case where the judge stopped a plea cause the dude said it wasn't him. Then got upset he was going to trial. He was pleading to get outta jail. That dude had the same attorney!!! What?!

    Sentenced to 10 years.
Doesn't do a day in jail.

When he started 'explaining' you could almost see his lawyer mentally facepalming.

10 years prison sentence magically changed to 10 years probation?
This is a broken record folks. I am baffled why the majority of this Country refuses to hold criminals accountable.

One reason: Perhaps they didn't have a slam dunk case that they could prove in court, but once they get someone to plead guilty in exchange for probation, they have him by the short and curlies, and it's easy to throw them in prison for a long time if they mess up on their probation.

@@dansanger5340 Except that, as we see in so many cases, they don't toss them in. They get more PR bonds, plead to lesser charges on their next case, and the next case, and the next case while staying out of prison and committing more crimes. The majority of crime is committed by repeat offenders. The courts are not holding the repeat offenders to account.

I totally agree. I understand that probation means if they create another offense they can then have to serve the actual sentence. However, I keep seeing that they get probation after probation. There should be If you have another offense no matter what it is, unless it is a speeding ticket, that probation is now gone, and you go to jail for the full sentence. End of Story.

Overcrowding at the jails/prisons is also amfactor.

I always forget that in addition to a prison sentence there are financial penalties as well.

If he doesn't pay those fines, does that cancel his probation?

If he goes through all these lies then lets him stay, I am done with this judge as well. He does not have to accept the plea.

Why does it take 12 minutes to take a plea and let him have probation. Too bad the homeowner was not there. This is Texas so he would probably not be standing there.
