LYRICS:
Valhalla Calling Gavin Dunne 2020
Ships on vigor of the waves are skimming
Barren summits to the verdant plains
Each horizon is a new beginning
Rise and reign
Far from the fjords and the ice cold currents
Ravens soar over new frontiers
Songs and sagas of a fate determined
Shields and spears
Vows of favour or the thrill of plunder
Pull together for the clan and kin
Clank of hammers and the crash of thunder
Pound within
Oh-ho-oh
The echoes of eternity
Oh-ho-oh
Valhalla calling me
Oh-ho-oh
To pluck the strings of destiny
Oh-ho-oh
Valhalla calling me
Valhalla calling me
Sails a' swaying on the crimson rivers
Blood and glory in the fighting fields
Shields a' shatter into splintered timbers
Iron and steel
Fires are rising and the bells are ringing
Glory take us into Odin's halls
Golden glimmer and the sound of singing
Asgard's call
Oh-ho-oh
The echoes of eternity
Oh-ho-oh
Valhalla calling me
Oh-ho-oh
To pluck the strings of destiny
Oh-ho-oh
Valhalla calling me
Valhalla calling me
Wind and the waves will carry me
Wind and the waves will set me free
Oh-ho-oh
The echoes of eternity
Oh-ho-oh
Valhalla calling me
Oh-ho-oh
To pluck the strings of destiny
Oh-ho-oh
Valhalla calling me

The fact this got so popular proves there’s a void in our culture for deep, meaty, masculine singers. Even listening to this, I desperately wish we had more songs of this caliber for our bassy bois. More please!!!

I'm surprised this song was the one that went viral. Miracle of sound has been making incredible music for years now.
Dont be surprised this one is so good
It's also a matter of timing. The first great cover of a song will often get more traction than an even better version published later, etc. Could be the group was re-doing popular numbers before and this was just their first first. The good thing is that once a group gets some attention, they usually find a loyal audience who will go back and find the rest of their bangers.

"To pluck the strings of destiny."
Fun fact: In Norse myth, everyone's fates, even the gods themselves, were woven by the Norns, and once spun were immutable. You could never defy your fate, which is why the gods knew they were all destined to die come Ragnarok, no matter how they prepared (and prepare they did). You can't defy your fate. . . but you can embrace it, take it into your own hands. Pluck the strings of destiny, as it were.
Damn...this is O.P
Surely we belong to Allah and to him we shall return.
@@IshaqKhan-uy1df Bruh WTF
The Norns carved the fate of everyone into wood, the narrative director of the game said that the weaving metaphor worked better for the story so they went with that instead. Also the name, of the Norns Urthr, Verthandi and Skuld, translate to Has been, Becoming and Shoud. Fate was not immutable save for Ragnarok, and it was our decisions that solidified the fate of us and all those around us as represented by the Web of Wyrd.

Im from Baltic sea territories...
IM STILL BELIEVE IN VALHALLA ❤
I listened to this song dozens of times on Spotify.
Today I found out that it is from Assasin's Creed.
Is it though?
Inspired by Assassins Creed, but not FROM Assassin’s Creed. I.e., you won’t find the song in the game
This song showed up in one of those playlists that UA-cam will recommend to you, about a week ago. Have been using it as my "On my way to the gym" song everyday since. Idk what it is about it but it sure as hell does a great job of getting me pumped before I start my workout sessions!! Amazing job!
@aleonard3249 that is an amazing way to describe it, something about the ability to make your ancestors proud of you makes you push your limits!
Yes it does, along with "My mother told me ... " :)
it is primal...thats why...
Bro i use it while on my way to the gym too and i absolutely agree
I have UA-cam recommend me music while I'm at work...and it was pretty jarring to hear Jonathan Young's metal version of this tune...right after James Taylor's "Carolina In My Mind."
Mood whiplash!
Played this on Bluetooth in my car on full blast… the bass turned my jeep into a Viking longship
Best comment ever, lol
We ride through the storms of the black top waves..
sounds rather inconvenient on a street
Let's sail to Asgard Shield brother

I was born and raised in south Louisiana. 100% cajun to the core. However, I totally dig the Viking tune! Added it to my workout playlist.
This is the Viking version of "Country Roads."
This song...... it gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.
One of the most beautiful and captivating pieces of music out there 💚
It's his best work in my opinion. And his music is great, so that's saying a lot.
Same
I was about to write that I get goosebumps every time I hear this song - then I read YOUR comment !!!

Most epic song ever made. It feels like sitting in a tavern and singing together. With a beer in hand and surrounded by Vikings.
🍻
mead instead
Ale 🍻
Skool
More like on a Viking warship riding to battle for Vahalla.
Lyrics:
Ships on Vigor of the waves are skimming,
Barren summits to the Verdant Plains,
each horizon is a new beginning,
rise and reign.
Far from the Fjords and the ice cold currents,
Ravens soar over new frontiers,
songs and sagas of a fate determined,
Shields and Spears.
Vows of favour or the thrill of plunder,
pull together for the clan and kin,
clank of hammers and the crash of thunder,
pound within.
OH-HO-OH!
The echoes of eternity!
OH-HO-OH!
Valhalla calling me!
OH-HO-OH!
To pluck the strings of destiny!
OH-HO-OH!
Valhalla calling me,
Valhalla calling me.
Sails of swaying on the crimson rivers,
blood and glory in the fighting fields,
shields a' shatter into splintered timbers,
Iron and steel.
Fires are rising and the bells are ringing,
glory take us into Odin's halls,
golden glimmer and the sound of singing,
Asgard's Call.
OH-HO-OH!
The echoes of eternity!
OH-HO-OH!
Valhalla calling me!
OH-HO-OH!
To pluck the strings of destiny!
OH-HO-OH!
Valhalla calling me,
Valhalla calling me.
"Wind and the waves will carry me",
"Wind and the waves will set me free",
"Wind and the waves will carry me",
"Wind and the waves will set me free".
OH-HO-OH!
The echoes of eternity!
OH-HO-OH!
Valhalla calling me!
OH-HO-OH!
To pluck the strings of destiny!
OH-HO-OH!
Valhalla calling me,
Valhalla calling me!
The lyrics are in the video description
I saw that after 2 or 3 days but finally someone commented that the lyrics are in the description
I wish I would be able to experience the lives of the people portrayed in this song.
Such a hauntingly beautiful voice! Perfect for that song
I don’t understand why game developers arnt hiring you for ads, I would
I think they paid him for that gwent song. I can be wrong. it rung like an ad to me in the animations and such though.
The official outro for Wasteland 2 was made by Gavin.
Didnt the people who made divinity pay him for Ascension?
@@EA-wr2xg They gave him video footage to use, not sure if it was financed as well.
One thing for everyone to remember.. He doesn't make a song unless he is inspired to do so to put his whole heart into it. Odds are he starts on a song and developers simply supply footage to help knowing it will further expose the game to the world. That's my thought at least
