A colleauge of mine told me this happened in his former lab when somebody cleaned a frit with KOH/H2O2 and left it overnight. Next day he started cleaning it with acetone and the whole fume hood sash was blasted into pieces. Luckily he got away with only a few scratches.

yes, it leads to a vigorous explosion, which can destroy the front window of a hood. I saw that result a couple of years ago.
