It means suppose you are in a turn having 4 roads in 4 sides. You want to go and the signal in front of you is showing red which means you can't go straight, logically this means that you can go left, but cars are coming from your right side, in that case you'll have to wait until the light turns green giving you the permission to go to both straight and left.... Right is not mentioned because you'll have to cross the road to turn right anyways, because India is a left driving country... If you don't understand take a pen and paper read again you'll understand 💯
@@gourabmondal7692 got it bro thx but why they didnt allowed it ? there is no chance of accident suppose i want to go left and its red signal then i can go without any accident just like we normally do , but why not here ? any special reason behind it ? btw THX A LOT !
@@Shubhamx.13 Traffic rush is high on certain stretches, that time if some vehicle comes and crosses over perpendicularly at that junction taking a free left, it may cause more traffic jam for the incoming traffic... and the Green Signalling timeframes are too little in Kolkata, you'll not find Red signals for 90-120-150 seconds as you may find in some other cities across the country... 60 seconds max (20 + 20 + 20)... this helps keep traffic flowing in Kolkata (and no major traffic logjams in the city - despite having mostly much narrower roads than other cities like Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai etc... Also usually buses go along the left-most lanes to reach the bus stops. Once a vehicle makes a free left at a junction, a bus from the incoming green signal traffic would find it cumbersome and time consuming to let the small vehicles from wrong side pass over before reaching its stop on the the other side... hope you can get the picture...
If any signal specifically directs no free left then it is a high speed intersection/accident prone area. If you take free left then incoming high speed traffic might crash into you

Metered taxis of Kolkata can survive only if the fare structure is rationalised and the existing diesel driven Ambassador cars are replaced with modern energy efficient and less polluting cars that use CNG /Electric.The State Government may consider providing one time subsidy / soft loans to taxi owners for replacement of the existing vehicles.

what does NO FREE LEFT mean ???? in the board sign?
It means suppose you are in a turn having 4 roads in 4 sides. You want to go and the signal in front of you is showing red which means you can't go straight, logically this means that you can go left, but cars are coming from your right side, in that case you'll have to wait until the light turns green giving you the permission to go to both straight and left....
Right is not mentioned because you'll have to cross the road to turn right anyways, because India is a left driving country...
If you don't understand take a pen and paper read again you'll understand 💯
@@gourabmondal7692 got it bro thx
but why they didnt allowed it ? there is no chance of accident
suppose i want to go left and its red signal then i can go without any accident just like we normally do , but why not here ? any special reason behind it ?
btw THX A LOT !
If you take free left then incoming high speed traffic might crash into you
@@sujoydutta4131 ohh .. now got it , just like highway we cannot join directly ! thx a lot bro !

Bruh just take a train.. jao ghum ke wapis aa jao..
Haan dekhta hun inhe kalkatta mein. Yellow Taxi acchi dikhti hai, bohot uncomfortable hain, par iconic hain...😊
Mujhe nahi pata ki sahi hai ya galat, par taxis yahan ek purane daur ki hain. Kalkatte mein roads patli hain, infrastructure age old hai. Change ka zaroorat hai, it does not seem like a metropolis here.
Btw, when did you guys come to Calcutta?!
Where are you staying at kolkata ???
03:06 side hoja bhai ....looks bad me de dena ; driver's pov
😂
Arey yeh log bahut paise mangte hai isse zyada sasti toh ac wala cab padti hai haa mein yeh nahi kehra ki sab aise hote hai but at least nayi gaadi ko bhi peeli rang karna chahiye didi ko.
Love from kolkata bro
The state government ahould modernize the cab system and keep the color yellow.
Aslo we lost tram line 😞
old yellow taxi produce more pollution , it's painfull but it's time to move on
THE COMPANY USED TO MAKE PILI TAXI IS ALREADY SHUT DOWN THATS WHY ITS GETTING BACK
Trampoline and taxis ❤😢😢
Its not about yellow taxi... You can any car yellow and black.... But what's hard to replace is ambassador.... It's better that RR
I remember, jab meri bhaiya bhag ke shadi kiya tha to tab humne yellow taxi book ki thi. Jab mera pehela gf bana tha, tab puja mein ghumne ke liye ye yellow taxi li thi... 😅 Accha chal ta hu duyaaon mein yaad rakhna

Bro, I'm also live in 📍kolkata
These taxis were the lifeline of Kolkata at one point of time but in the present times they are a pain. Public chose app cabs over yellow taxis because of the rude and stubborn behavior of Bihari drivers of yellow taxis. Constant refusals, demanding exorbitant fares, rigging meters, scamming tourists are common.
Go at Newtown
3:06 he was about to get hit by the white car
11:10 Its India, your cleanest city is as clean as a public toilet in America.
Yellow taxi drivers started to ask for higher prices because of the monopoly.
After the Uber & Ola introduction their market has gone down.
Curse of common public
Bhaiya mai aapka video bhut pahle se dekhta aarha raha hu par ye wala chennal aaj mere ko recommendat huva to jase bare mai pata chal ke apka ak dusara chenel bhi hai to aap aapne main chennal mai aapne ye wale chennal ka paromison kar diya kare
Bura is chiz ka lag rha hai 1. Ek vintage collection gayab ho jayega Kolkata se ( but we can't do anything except upgrading with new generation for betterment, change is needed) 2. Central ab second hand cars se bhi GST lega (or ye cars govt k pass hi jayega or waha without GST car sell hoga asia kabhi ho nhi sakta).
I hope they get some help from WB CM
Yo bro ❤❤
Don’t need such yellow heritage..environment and lower AQI is much more appreciated.. Govt. is taking a very good decision.. it’s time for either hybrid or electric now..
Didi hata rha hai 😂 this is the reason why the Indian needs basic education for all ages.
😂
This decision has good and bad impact
Bad:
1. One more identity lost
Good:
1. Environment
2. Immigration limit from UP Bihar
3. Less traffic
so more pros than cons
immigration limit Bangladeshis k uperr lagaao.. khatraa un Bangladesh ko le krr jaida hh
Might agree with the first twp pros, but It just will be replaced by some other commercial vehicle, so I guess, less traffic argument is flawed.
Great change. Ive not used these taxis for 10 years now. Only non bengalis will promote this.
Bhai I am from Kolkata, aap apni family ko leke raaste mein khade reh jainge aur aap anginat Yellow Taxi ko rokenge but ye log sirf apni marzi k maalik hai. Destination achhi lagi toh jainge warna nahi, Ye OLA, Uber & other app cabs k wajeh se travel karna easy ho gya hai. Plus they are highly polluting, Blue & Red Private buses and the Ambassador Taxis needs to go, or else Kolkata will become next SMOKE CHAMBER.
As a citizen of kolkata, Esplanade
I would say this news is fake..😂
Now find a another fake news to earn money.
Thanks to emission norms, time to say goodbye to yellow taxi
There's no problem to remove this taxis but then what's the substitute of this taxi,, is it ola or other.!?
Government could modernized these cars, but 😢
Old taxis are too old so people try to avoid old taxis
Purane zamane ke sare log abhi bhi yellow taxi hi prefer karte hain uski ek waza ye bhi hai ki cab book karna smartphone use karna abhi bhi bohat se logo ko aata nahin aur yellow taxi drivers ko raasta batana nahin padhta maps unke dimaag me hi hota hai lekin ek buraai hai is yellow taxi drivers ke ye log meter ke hisaab se paise charge nahi karke muh maanga kiraya maangte hai warna refuse kar dete hain.
Not even Yellow taxis even many blue white & mini buses should be removed
Sometimes they ask for absurd amount. Ekbar 2 km jane ke liye 400 manga tha
Bhai ye isliye chal rha hai kyoki isme engine fiat ka engine haii
Wo duniya me sbse reliable engine bnata hai
Not a detailed video..do overall research..just perspective of some bihari's view about this

They are very discomforting and we are overcharged
official channel 🤔🤔🤔
Hindustan Motors are not coming to market anytime soon neither company/govt. will convert old taxis to EVs...with time ICE cars degrade, its time to move on... Iconic things makes history..!!
Kolkata is slowly losing its culture, first its the dressing style, then iconic trams and now yellow taxis.
Only rosogolla is surviving
