Oh my this places is every movie maker, composer's, painters and video games paradise for the fantasy theme setting! The geology reminds me of Skye Island, Scotland but a way much warmer version. It has this astonishing feeling that you're abroad when you compare this place to the likes of London, Bath and Oxford, though in the beginning the small shops/cafes/restaurants I was reminded of the lovely Isle of Wight
I thank you for this stunning video because in my life I have yet to set my shoes in Cornwall

So interesting...I'm sure parts of the story of Arthur are true, of course the magic and lore is still legend, but the characters and some of their deeds are probably rooted in truth. Isn't the way with all legends, picking up additional merit as the story is told and retold? It's what makes it so enthralling.

Beautiful place Cornwall, as are many other coastal areas around the regions & nations of Britain. But may I correct you on one thing? Read on further.
In the title of your video you state how King Arthur was born in Cornwall. He wasn't. Let me educate you and your viewers.
The original Arthurian Myths & Legends all originate from Wales , Welsh Kingdoms in Hen Oggledd (Old North) taken from Welsh source materials. The later tales of jousting , chivalry & roundtable etc were added to by Norman French & English writers like Chretien De Troyes & Thomas Mallory and are medieval additions.
The earliest sources to mention Arthur & Myrddin ( Merlin) events & dates was 9th century Welsh monk Nennius in his work. Historia Brittonum. That was written in 830 AD in both Latin & Cymraeg.
And later in the 1135 Welsh chronicler Galfridus Arturus aka Geoffrey of Monmouth wrote his celebrated Historia Regum Britanniae using genuine Gildas & Nennius's source material, but is said to have also access other now lost dark age Welsh manuscripts, although might I add he was playing to a Norman French audience at the time so besides using known material was also embellishing & adding to the creation of the myth & legend also.
But nowhere , and I repeat, nowhere in any of the original source material used did it state that Arthur, king or not, was born in Cornwall. Nowhere Geoffrey stated that he was conceived in Cornwall, not born.
I assume you know what the term conceived means. Yes? Not being patronising but there is difference. Conceived is an act performed to produce a baby. And born is when that child reaches gestation then exits its mother in an act called childbirth. Big difference. He was not born.
The evidence is there if you took the time & effort to research. You can either perpetuate an untruth or be factual.

@@ricklong3260 Thank you. I'm not being precocious or demeaning to Cornwall just being factual with the evidence available.
The Cornish & Welsh are basically one and the same people. And where we Welsh (Cymry) are made up of numerous tribes from the West & North that fled Irish & Pictish raids South to Cymru , Cornwall is only made up of one tribe being the Cornovii which the tribal name refers to people living on a horn of land or peninsular.
Also our language is one and the same too. And the only difference is its development being hindered by English otherwise both would be virtually identical today.
Note: Cornwall was once was referred to as South Wales
Anyway, back to Arthur. Ironically nowhere in Nennius manuscripts does he mention Arthur's birthplace just his name. It's only Geoffrey of Monmouth over 300 years later said he was conceived in Cornwall. And I've explained the connotations of that in my first post.
Remember, the name Arthur was likely a nickname denoting his stature & status as a warrior in society and not his true name.
The period referred to as the 'Dark Ages' is a period that lacks written manuscripts as most were destroyed by raiders. So really we are lucky to have any examples at all from that period. But it's highly likely his name & birthplace was mentioned but those manuscripts were sadly lost or destroyed.
The name Arthur translates as 'The Bear' in Old Welsh. And symbolism was vitally important to native Britons , as it is with native Americans, who themselves harnessed the essence of powerful animals like bears , buffalo , eagles etc... so it would make them invisible in battle.
Personally I think Arthur existed but he wasn't a king himself but was of royal blood. And rather than being a 5th century figure who fought the Saxons was from the Roman occupation.
Arthur's name was Caratacus or Caradog, ap Bran, who was the son of King Cunobelinus. He fought the Romans numerous times in the East before being driven West to the heartland of the Celts & Druids in Cambria (Cymru) joining the most feared tribe in Britain. The Silures. He led that tribe and is said to have destroyed a Roman legion in hand to hand combat. The only Celtic tribe in Europe to do so as noted by Roman historian Tacitus.
He then was captured by the Romans and taken to Rome as a trophy. He was even fated by Roman society as a celebrity and was never to return to his homeland.
I think his name thereafter was used by the Cymry as a rallying cry to repel the Saxon invasion as noted by Nennius who paraphrased one historical saying he was no Arthur.
