I love this show and that’s why I want to give some feedback. I do wonder if it’s not a lil toxic to keep up the whole “men doing xyz is dangerously cuz it gives me an ick” joke. It can be funny as like a stand up joke. But talking about such old school gender roles so frequently is a little alienating to me, a slug who is trying to deconstruct my toxic gender expectations. Love y’all.
100% Khalyla frequently justifies being a super judgmental person with all these "icks" in which she rejects guys for doing even the slightest momentary thing that may be perceived as awkward--- and she perpetuates the idea that it's an inherent reaction that men should learn to accommodate to, when in reality it's coming from the same backwards minded place as a guy who rejects a woman for asserting herself rather than being meek or being physically capable rather than presenting herself as weak. She mentioned on another podcast that she immediately lost interest in a guy she had started seeing because of the way he arched his lower back when she walked in on him in the shower. Apparently, she feels "real men" aren't allowed to arch their backs in certain ways while startled. That would be the equivalent to a guy rejecting a girl after walking in on her opening a jar on her own because he feels women are supposed to be dainty at all times. Even when the guest was talking about breaking his arm during a fall, her focus was instead on whether he fell in an "ick" way.

My girlfriend and I took a week-long vacation in Maui, and it was definitely really cool. The only thing that wasn't great about it was the sideways rain that would regularly happen on various days - though it was usually a pretty light rain and sometimes felt pretty nice since it was so hot outside. But the general "atmosphere" was super nice, the people were super nice, etc. On a few nights, I went out to a local bar that was mostly populated by locals, and everyone was super friendly. I briefly stayed in Pasadena, CA in college, and the vibes were similar (though I would say the people were generally more stuck-up). If I could live anywhere, I would pick either Maui (or perhaps one of the other islands) or somewhere in SoCal. The weather in SoCal was less hot and humid than Hawaii, though it would sometimes get a bit cold/windy at night, especially closer to the ocean and further north (like San Fran). As someone from a Chicago suburb, it was nice to be in these places that never got below like 60 degrees at any point (and SoCal generally doesn't get much hotter than 90 - though that probably depends on how far south you go, and how close to the ocean you are).
