Y'all are doing a great job with Delta Force, but yeah, the smoke grenades seem a little oppressive, maybe by shortening their duration by a second or two would help tone them down a bit

I think the devs of this game are doing a fantastic job, but I can’t help to notice the excessive similarities with BF2042. Some parts just seem completely copied. Them actually using official BF2042 promo material for their own game doesn’t really help either. Gameplay looks fun though, so really looking forward to play this myself.

Yeah that’s what bothers me too. The medal system is the EXACT same and that was one of the worst downgrades from the previous games. They could have done the best from older games and the best from 2042 but they just took the best and the worst from 2042.

I’ve been playing 2042 since it came out and battlefield for years and honestly this is a breath of fresh air knowing that there’s another company going for that genre and hopefully can fix or make up for the parts dice neglected n listen to the community on feedback to make it a better game already looks really good
I don't know if you'd agree but going from Delta Force back to 2042 i started thinking that 2042 is not that bad or maybe Delta Force is not as good as everyone thought it would be, but it's like the same thing minus good vechicle gameplay that 2042 has. I mean the maps are as bad as in 2042 with lots of open spaces where you get killed from at least 180 degree radius, movement and gameplay everything fels like slow-motion, same "specialist" system, overcomplicated weapon attachments system, almost nothing in UI customization compared to 2042 where you can literally change everything to your liking Overall i feel like Delta Force is an extraction shooter where they added Breakthrough and Conquest because everything above fits perfectly in extraction-style fps
BF 2042 is not that bad. It caught a lot of flak at the start because on release it was just a mess, but once the devs found their groove and stuck to it, it was fine. Are there things I wouldn't have done or that I would change? Sure. That's why were getting a new BF that will go back to basics instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. 2042 is still a fun shooter for what it is and I think people can't see past their icks. It fundamentally remains a Battlefield game.
yea, i really don't understand the people who actually consider this to be competition to battlefield. these games are like worlds apart. delta force is literally a free mobile fps that's also on pc. the similarities to bf are on a surface level at best. but when you look more closely, battlefield is ahead in almost every aspect. however, i do believe the extraction mode will be quite big. the slow pace and sluggishness of movement fits the extraction mode way more than the battlefield mode.
As someone who is primarily a vehicle player, the vehicle gameplay in 2042 is terrible, definitely the worst in the series going back to at least bad company 2. Cant speak to how bad it is in delta force as I haven't been able to play it yet (i play on controller, and they haven't added support for it), but it would have to be especially bad to be worse the 2042.
I think the main difference is that Delta Force is free, that's a huge factor. Don't think many people would be playing Delta Force's conquest mode if BF2042 was free to play.

One thing I’ve always wanted on tanks in order to bridge the gap between high and low sense is to have the turret turn at a constant speed but you can aim your camera as fast as you like, so that would be represented with the reticle matching your sense but the little square box represents the turret catching up, kind of like it does now if you get what I mean
It looks so good for free-to-play! I wish it didn't have operators though. Plenty of ways to monetize without a battlefield full of the same characters vs. nameless soldiers.

I was a huge Delta force black hawk down fan back in 2007. Loved playing it all night. They tried coming out with new games in the series, but they failed miserably. Im glad they may have a success. Though Novalogic isn't really the reason for the success but im still happy to see DF back
@phee3D it's part of the Delta Force series. Obviously, it's not Novalogic anymore. But it is Hawk ops and has a black down mission in it. The game play seems boring in some of the co-op missions. The multi player copied battlefield. What's the problem here ? Delta force is back. It's just not what we older gamers are used to from the original developers
The EXP for damage, is one of the most underrated features of the latest BF games. having to not completely kill someone to get some EXP points is absolutely massive, and makes it feel like a much nicer grind. And the overall feel and looks of that game really does seem like it was built around bf 3/4
Super stoked to try the full version. I've done a couple rounds with early testing and I was pleasantly surprised. I think this will seriously challenge battlefield.
I think as soon as DICE announce BF2025 this will be forgotten about, IF (big if) they land where they say they're gonna land, in the BF3/4 range. Delta Force looks like it has a budget and a gritty feel, but otherwise it mostly just seems like 2042 to me, and I think people are going to be way more willing to make that comparison IF (big if again) BF2025 is modern era, has squadplay, has classes, and doesn't have a bunch of weird secondary futuristic abilities going off. Seems like it'll be a fun stopgap though.
So I have played the tests, and I had to play 2042 in its current state to compare. Gameplay is the same. Those who argue it's not clearly have not played 2042 in it's current state or at all. I feel a majority of people hating on 2042 still have yet to play it. I've met more than 30 people who do just that.

The only time its detection systems are running is during active gameplay but its internet and IO access remain active the entire time your PC is on.
The best fun my mate and I have had in a while, BF:2042 and BF5 just wasn't cutting it for some reason = this just feels like BF3/4 all over again, it's brilliant :D

I’m not going to lie and as scary as it sounds to someone who grew up watching their big brother play BF3, this game has some serious potential. Other than the slow ass rockets, horrible sound design, god awful vehicle handling and once again a degenerate hero shooter, this is a very strong competition for Dice and EA. I just hope that the next battlefield game leaves us jaw dropped and Delta Force the corny “battlefield killer” that can’t ever quite take the crown.

I am huge fan Jack but you know this game is NOT competition. They LITERALLY copied BF 2042. One of the most so called hated BFs. If they were smart they should have at least tried to copy BF3 or BF4 or both.
Been on battlefield since bf1942 back in 2002. Still play 2042 regularly. Played Delta Force for a good 4-5 days and nah I can't play it. Just felt cheesy with all the crazy gadgets and everyone yelling at the start of the round. It looks great visually but it's just missing something battlefield has always had even if 2042 wasn't as great as we wanted it to be at release. Delta Force ain't taking over battlefield anytime soon especially as we near the release of the new one.
I wish more DF and BF2042 maps looked like this. The vegetation and fires makes it look a lot more like a believable modern combat scene instead of a futuristic fight in the Portal universe.

It has the same problems as 2042, for example there is no teamplay at all. Everybody does his thing and nobody really cares. So not more attractive than 2042.
What's up with the player models almost 'glowing'? when they're further away. When Jack was sniping up on the windmill it almost looked like he had some thermal overlay
Looks like the global illumination falloff is set to low for that map and the player models aren't included in the pass. Free to play games have to run on potatoes as well as high end stuff this kinda thing is to be expected, and can be solved quite easily. I would be more worried about the thing just straight up not running once the servers are loaded up, people have little tolerance for borked launches anymore.
I like the fact that the Heli controls have a learning curve, looks fun and agile, like BF3 and Bad Co 2... it took skill to fly those well. Unlike BF4 where anyone could fly it, like it was filled with helium.
Anyone notice that the explosion effect from the tank shells and RPGs are ALWAYS the exact same texture? Nit a huge deal but once you see it you cant unsee haha

The only time its detection systems are running is during active gameplay but its internet and IO access remain active the entire time your PC is on.

Imagine a new game able to figure out properly how trees breaks while a 10 years old game war thunder have trees floating, reset upright after break, stick to your tank, blocking your line of sight for 20 secs before slowly sinking through your tank lmfao

I’m not going to lie and as scary as it sounds to someone who grew up watching their big brother play BF3, this game has some serious potential. Other than the slow ass rockets, horrible sound design, god awful vehicle handling and once again a degenerate hero shooter, this is a very strong competition for Dice and EA. I just hope that the next battlefield game leaves us jaw dropped and Delta Force the corny “battlefield killer” that can’t ever quite take the crown.

That doesn't mean they are bots.. Lots of people use camel case including me.

I am huge fan Jack but you know this game is NOT competition. They LITERALLY copied BF 2042. One of the most so called hated BFs. If they were smart they should have at least tried to copy BF3 or BF4 or both.

Been on battlefield since bf1942 back in 2002. Still play 2042 regularly. Played Delta Force for a good 4-5 days and nah I can't play it. Just felt cheesy with all the crazy gadgets and everyone yelling at the start of the round. It looks great visually but it's just missing something battlefield has always had even if 2042 wasn't as great as we wanted it to be at release. Delta Force ain't taking over battlefield anytime soon especially as we near the release of the new one.

@mohammedhoudinigaming5930 Yeah, maybe. I just don't get all the hate on bf2042. I have only encountered a few hackers on bf2042. I causually game and always enjoy bf2042. Compared to cod, I dislike cod not enjoyable at all and full of hackers, BBC, and gimp bundles. I gave up on cod after AW.

It has the same problems as 2042, for example there is no teamplay at all. Everybody does his thing and nobody really cares. So not more attractive than 2042.

I think it's some issue with lighting
Looks like the global illumination falloff is set to low for that map and the player models aren't included in the pass. Free to play games have to run on potatoes as well as high end stuff this kinda thing is to be expected, and can be solved quite easily. I would be more worried about the thing just straight up not running once the servers are loaded up, people have little tolerance for borked launches anymore.

I like the fact that the Heli controls have a learning curve, looks fun and agile, like BF3 and Bad Co 2... it took skill to fly those well. Unlike BF4 where anyone could fly it, like it was filled with helium.
