We can't use lead shot for em anymore here in Wisconsin, but man I remember the time you could when I was young. You could knock geese down like nothing. At the distance you were shooting you could have thrown rock's at some of those.. Awesome shooting and great video, you really put the birds down.

It was a hell of a day, but you know when you got the geese hunting poison running through your veins, I am already having abstinence after just 10 days after that hunt so been out 3 times since and going out tomorrow. Having serious problems in the fields right now, they are killing the crops.

It's not just lead loads. He is shooting them in the decoys instead of sky busting. The geese act like they have never seen a decoy. Kinda like opening day of early season.

I think ShotCam only have one model. But there are different generations. They get better and better I guess.

How did you get that view at the 4:00 mark?
joe stallings I just parked the drone at that view for 5 minutes and put down the control and kept hunting. The geese are scared of the drone while it’s moving but don’t care much when it’s still.

Here in Sweden the geese are to many and scientist and student who ring mark geese and ducks are few, so only 1 in 1000-2000 shot geese are banded. So I just got a few each year. But when I got them they are valuable. Last year I shot a banded barnacle that was ring marked at age of 2 and ringed 19 years ago, so the little barnacle goose was 21 years old.

Here where I am from they ring band quite a few (1 in 100) the local biologist where I am does about 500 birds a season, they too are very valuable for information they contain. If you ever want to come to and shoot one in Ohio or Michigan get ahold of me. Maybe we can work out a trade....you come here and I come thing 👍

Here in Sweden the geese are to many and scientist and student who ring mark geese and ducks are few, so only 1 in 1000-2000 shot geese are banded. So I just got a few each year. But when I got them they are valuable. Last year I shot a banded barnacle that was ring marked at age of 2 and ringed 19 years ago, so the little barnacle goose was 21 years old.

None, 1-2 per 1000 geese are banded. Most common are banded barnacles, then greylags and canadians. I don’t know why they don’t ring mak the geese more frequently probably because they are to many.
Are the geese with orange bills and feet white fronted geese or something different?
Probably greylag geese if I were to guess

@@wesforker2352 definitely what we call greylag, many of them are not really speckled at all if it is the ones at 09:58. The only one that can be mistaken is at times the Bean goose but these do not seem as those.

As a life long goose hunter ( 40+ years) I love the video especially the drone shots above the geese working into the decoys.... At the end of the video you alluded to "guiding" hunters... do you offer a package hunt of that caliber for hire? Certainly would be a once in a life time treat for me and my hunting associates

Really like your videos. Where I used to live in Maryland by the Chesapeake Bay they can only kill 1 and there season is only 25 days.

@@tommclarty17 I'm actually thinking about leaving UA-cam. Its been hard to make something out of nothing past 2 years with new restrictions. I also have a pup on way this summer so may just take break from hunting and work w dog next season. Im not sure what I want to do yet. I have video coming out soon explaining it.
@@tommclarty17 but im.not gonna shoot 4 birds for 4 man limit and act like we did something. Hard to compete w the guys in better flyways that have legit better hunts. Told myself once it's not fun anymore or pain to do video I would stop. Posting vids are time consuming w editing and all. Looking for feedback on my last vid that will be posted for ideas

But what do you do with all of the meat
I sell it to the butcher/meat dealer and give a lot away to ordinary people. The butcher sells it to restaurants and grocery. And then people could get healthy, climat-smart, ethical produced, tasty meat. It’s a very long tradition in Sweden and that’s why hunting is so well accepted. Without hunting the game populations we wouldn’t be able to farm food crops here. Small population of people and minimal population of hunters and huge amount of wild animals

With a good gun good lead ammo an overpopulated geese it’s not that hard

It’s almost impossible to kill a goose once he’s turned away from the hunter with steel shot! There’s way more birds that are wounded and fly away to die from steel shot than lead ever killed by lead poisoning!!
Hey there. So I'm from the UK and shoot a lot of pigeons using a 10 shot benelli. That would be savage on the geese. Is it your personal choice not to use above a 3 shot or is it the law?

Too bad you are restricted to 3 shells, as your country is inundated by the Canada Geese. I like that Sweden is very sensible in allowing you to shoot lead shot over fields. I wish America was so sensible.

We live in a free country so off course we don’t have any limits on geese and ducks 🤣🤣 but it’s because the geese population are growing over our heads and that we are to few waterfowl hunters. So yes we have that freedom. But our semi-socialistic government give us worlds highest tax, most expensive alcohol and tobacco etc so no much freedom when it comes to that 😂😂 So I believe Sweden is great for US hunters to visit and hunt in (if they buy tax free whiskey in the airport) but I guess you would hate living here 🤣🤣 So you are welcome to take contact for info in booking@goosehuntingsweden.com

I haven’t ever even killed that many in one season😂 in the usa in the state delaware and maryland your only allowed to shoot one per day
But US is still mother of waterfowling, I would like to get over there and learn more about the art of geese hunting. All of our techniques we have learned from US waterfowlers. When I started 30 years ago I made my own decoys 😆😆

No limit here in New Zealand and we can shoot them with lead as well. They make great jerkey!
