This is when the Cowboys still had that swagger and mystique around them and their iconic coach. But unfortunately 83 ended with 2 losses to end the season vs the Redskins and the Niners to finish this team at 12-4. But nobody showed up for their home wild card game vs Eric Dickerson and the Rams and they lost 24 to 17. There was alot of empty seats in Dallas that day. Not sure if that was cause of the weather cause I recall it being messy, or was it that the Dallas fan had become a little spoiled and had no faith in this version of the Cowboys in 83. I was only 10 and from Boston. But I loved the Cowboys from around 80 to 86 as did alot of kids and all I remember was how fun this team was and how many points they scored. I especially remember the season opener vs the Redskins on the road after being down 23 to 3 at halftime. I do miss these good ole days for sure. Thank you again
It was frigid in much of the country. Dallas was 27 and high winds for that Wild Card game against a Rams team that wasn't exactly a cold-weather team.
This game was supposed to be in Philadelphia but as A) the Phillies were hosting the Orioles in the World Series and B) it was the first of 2 divisional games between these two teams, they were able to swap dates for the home-and-home between the Eagles and Cowboys. Without B existing they may have had to put this game on Monday night in Philadelphia.
