With the exception of a few penalties, Florida played a near-perfect and complete game. Each phase was strong and consistent. With the Tigers grinding out the long drives and holding the ball so long, I really thought the defense was going to tire. Didn't happen. That last Gator TD run was a work of art. I thought it was a broken play. DJ turned to his right, Baugh went left, the QB hesitated, turned and pitched, the line blocked, and off to the end zone. Clever, deceptive, perfectly timed play. Who designed that? Maybe the same guy who recruited Lagway and Baugh?
@moneal158 Florida should play tighter zone coverage a day blitz on third and long. The defense is too atheletic and relentless for the coaches to put the players in soft coverage.
Florida has become one of "those" teams. You know, they start out slow but by the end of the year no one wants to play them. As for Napier, it's been said Florida isn't the place for on the job training but at this point, we might as well let it play out. Great win!
I’m so PROUD OF THIS TEAM AND THEIR IMPROVEMENT, their effort and INTENSITY has been noticed the past few game. The excitement level they bring bleeds into Gator Nations excitement and Gator Nation BROUGHT IT LAST NIGHT! They sounded amazing on TV , great job Gator Nation and congratulations to the Florida Gators! Stay strong and continue the fight ! 🧡🐊💙
Billy doesn’t need more time. Strickland is forced to keep him cause of Lagway! If Mertz didn’t get hurt we would have only seen him a few plays a game! Napier doesn’t want to hire a OC which is another problem. A good OC could have Lagway winning the Heisman next year. And Napier is still a terrible gameday coach. Gators fans are stuck with him until Lagway goes pro or transfers
13-23 on 3rd down, LSU had the ball 00:41:38 lol, Steve Spurrier "Time position isn't something I really care about" What crazy that was also and LSU game Steve Spurrier said that. I believe it was 1998 game. Florida won 22-10. LSU had beaten Florida in 1997 28-21 the year before. What was crazy Steve Spurrier told LSU that Florida be wearing white jersey's with blue pants. Steve did that just so LSU would have to wear there Purple Jersey's.
Lagway is one of those leaders that improves everyone around them, including motivation and performance. He is not just a quality leader, but also a very high quality leader.
Yes! Our S&C alone gave us a win against Kentucky. We will go on another winning streak against them as long as Tyler Miles, strength coach, stays. Kentucky used to dominate us on the line but not anymore. Same with Georgia. Next year is Florida's year
While the defense gave up some yards they only gave up 16 points and the boys went to town getting after nussmeier sacking him 7 times and harassing him all game long
It’s nice to feel like the 🐊 are trending in the right direction. It wouldn’t surprise me if we ran the table for the rest of this season and the next. Yes, I’m serious. We are led by amazing young athletes. 7 sacks against a team that had only given up 6 all year. 💯The offense keeps jelling under DJ. So much talent. Please keep teaching Billy so he doesn’t slow us down. Seems like a nice guy hope he gets it .The players certainly seem to love playing for him and that’s huge. DJ is a true leader and outstanding player. Heisman already on the field. Wishing I was able to be there. Enjoy. Wishing they moved the start of the Ole’ Miss game to the evening. Definitely the best game of the day.
That was a LOT of fun. Huge test next week, against a team that really does have it all going on, so who knows what happens. Get a couple more dudes back in the secondary and I think Florida can take it. Either way, although definitely a lot slower than I’d hoped, it looks like Napier has this team playing together and has them headed in the right direction. Good stuff to come, I believe.
A very good win for Florida, finally breaking the LSU curse. Now you think how those Tennessee and Georgia games loom now, Florida could be sitting at 7-3 right. They absolutely played good enough to win both of those games. Definitely a big win for Napier, especially coming off the disaster a week ago in Austin. He can make really big statement against Ole Miss next Saturday and potentially set yourself up for finishing the season with 7 wins. Which is nothing to write home about, but it can give you some momentum heading into next year. I've been a critic of Napier, but I do think it is important to stick with it as opposed to playing musical chairs with head coaches. If you continue to win and show you are heading in the right direction, you'll get those top recruits.
Billy's long term success will depend on his recruiting. I understand they are giving him more time but after year 3 he must recruit at a high level if he expects to contend at a high level. Time will tell. The guys played well yesterday and beat a #21 team. Now finish strong and win the last two, that would be impressive!
If Billy Napier beats Ole Miss, I will retract all my demands for a new coach for next season. I would still like to see him make even bigger improvements for 2025
So Emotional with this Coach, been banging on this man in the worst way, I’shut my damn mouth now!!!, they responded as a team and have to give it to Billy these young men responded for him and the play of Lagway, Man this team has had me on a roller coaster all year, Wow is all I can say about this Program!!!!
One of the best decisions billy did after last season was bring in new coaches. Its definitely showing. Now hire an OC and we are elite next year with a good 25 class and transfer portal additions. I think we win out and finish 8-5
Regardless of the 3rd down efficiency by LSU, the Defense only gave up 16. Best overall Defensive effort in years. Wish Ole Miss game was at 3:30 or 7:30 so The Swamp could shine in the dark, but if the buzz from the LSU game is there for Ole Miss, it could help get another win. Hope DJ gets full mobility back so he can avoid Princely and the OM D from harassing him. Btw, not in Billy's defense, I saw several teams last night call time out or get a penalty for a clock violation coming out of a TV timeout. Thanks Ali; GO GATORS!
Love watching the show. But I do have to say that BNs ability to keep this team together despite all that has gone wrong. The ball never bouncing our way. And all the injuries to key players. Amazes me. And says he deserves another year. IMO
I can't be sure, but my memory is that almost all those sacks were coverage sacks. So I would put a lot of that credit on the DBs. And I'd throw Basement Billy in the trash for backing off on EVERY 3rd and long, and EVERY 4th down, allowing LSU to hold the ball and stay in the game all day long.
Why does the effort change week to week, look like a completely different team! Good for Billy, he needed that win. Hopefully he can build on this going into next week, I think he needs to run the ball more with such great backs, will open up the passing game. Go Gators finish strong 💪!!!!
“Ifs” that could change the outcome can be said about every game and rarely do both teams play their best game vs each other all game long so to me thats a moot point. Great work and Go Gators 🐊
Good win and obviously a step in the right direction. This is Napier’s 2nd win against rivals. Can they win 1 or 2 more games? Still a long way to go! We can’t be happy with 5 or 6 wins a season. Btw, I keep hearing that the players are not quitting. They are getting paid! They better not quit! Their play is an ongoing resume for more $$$$!
I feel like our kids just wanted it bad enough to overcome the same old Billy ball mistakes. Stupid penalties at crucial times , 5 yard pass on 3rd and long , no points off of 2 turnovers in LSU territory , etc. Great job by our guys to overcome all of it. We are a good coach away from greatness. Also , please use your platform to expose the bull crap narrative about UF loving to fire our coach. The TRUTH is that since 1990 , every SEC team except UGA has had at least 6 coaches ( we've had 7 ) . Ole Miss has had 8 and Auburn , couple others have had 7 also. So why are we the ones that get this phony tag ?
It is now a $ balancing act in NCAA football. UF's coaching staff buyout is $40 mil. on one side of the teeter totter. Takes away from the other $ side (acquiring top players).
Sapp is that dude. This team did great. My only complaint was the penalties that is a player accountability issue. I'm going to enjoy the win and not be negative Nancy. Go Gators!!!
Great pressure on the QB by the defense, but gave up a few 3rd downs they shouldn’t have. Lagway played pretty good playing at less than 100% but had 2 near int’s that may have changed the game if the defenders hadn’t dropped the ball. He may have came back and thrown a few TD’s because INT’s don’t seem to deter his confidence. Overall good game and a much needed win.
Letting LSU get multiple 1st downs of 3rd and loooong and 4th downs was horrible and frustrating. Definitely room for improvement, I also understand the defense was tired and the offense didn’t have good time of possession. Overall a team win.
"Dominated?" I'm as jacked as any other Gator "born & raised in Gainesville, FL.," like me. But the Gator D gave up half of LSU's 3rd down conversions. That's part of the "bad" -if we're honest. Still, Lagway coming back was instrumental in the win, and I'll take it. Go Gators! Beat Ole Miss!
Ali, it was not dominant, if you looked at all the stats, without looking at the score, you would’ve thought we got our ass kicked… nevertheless, it was a tremendous gator, victory, and the boys play hard, but don’t break, but we were not dominant
DJ is a generational QB. The whole team - offense and defense - plays levels above normal when he is in the lineup. He starts against UGA and LSU - we play with the effort of a team that can win championships. But in between, we play one game without him, and our team doesn't even bother to get off the bus. Effort at absolute zero. DJ will give us a chance to beat anyone with his skill and ability to lift the team up. But Napier is still white hot garbage. He still can't figure out how to call a play before the play clock runs out, he still has no concept of how to manage a football game or manage the clock, still can't play ahead or even with the sticks because our OL - WITH 2 OL COACHES - still can't execute a snap without a penalty, and Basement Billy still can't count to 11! But as long as DJ is here, we can beat anyone. We won't, because Basement Billy will always find a way to lose, but DJ will make sure we win more than we lose. Then when he goes to the NFL, Basement Billy will go back to losing seasons every year. Enjoy the DJ years.
You are right. LSU did not play a good game. Can the Swamp affect the Rebels who have an off week to plan for the Gators? Next week will be very tough. Can we keep down the big plays?
@@ronnieturner1356 Maybe now after the Swamp, but I did not feel they had quit. They played hard and wanted to win. Perhaps losing concentration....dropped interceptions, etc.
@@rk41gator They quit when Jalen Milroe stomped a mudhole, planted corn, plucked the corn, threw the shucks in with the stalks and stomped the mudhole dry.
I think next season, they have to get to 9-3 or better for Billy to continue into 2026. Beating Ole Miss, Florida State, and a bowl opponent should help recruitment, and maybe a few extra players may transfer to Gainesville. If a new OC is hired and Billy is willing to give up play calling, nobody will want to play Florida. That's the standard I hold them to in 2025, and I hope the Athletic Department does also.
Lagway was awesome. He basically played on one leg and beat a ranked team. But he was able to throw, and he had some mobility in the pocket even though he couldn’t fully run. I love when Napier smiles, and he beat one of the best coaches over the last decade in Brian Kelly. The defense was awesome and relentless. Eventhough the defense has been much better, that was the best defensive performance I’ve seen in probably five years. We can beat Ole Miss at home, and if we do, then we have a great chance at a winning season because we SHOULD beat FSU by a nice margin. This is the worst FSU team I’ve ever seen.
When all those so called fans were booing you, Coach, and so called Gator pundits like Ali Peek, Bud Martin, HighTop were calling for your head after Texas AM, there were those of us who always believed in you and this group. And when we make it the Championship game in a couple of years, there'd be a lot of so called "gators" eating crow.
LSU beat Ole Miss, but also Kentucky beat Ole Miss. The concern is that Ole Miss had a bye to prepare and how easily they beat Georgia. Napier seems to treat every game equally, but I can't help but feel like beating Kiffin would be extremely important to him. I would like to see it.
7 - 5 will give Indication of Development in Coaching and Players. 6 - 6 will not be acceptable and Require Coach Change. Though I was Impressed but we can't afford to think we have arrived
What I remember you saying was 8 wins meant Napier deserved a contract extension. 8 wins should have been minimum for a competent coach. We lost to Miami and Tennessee but beat LSU. I think a championship coach would have won all three. Napier has a once in a lifetime QB which will probably save his job. However, UF will waste their only chance to win a championship and as soon as DJ leaves, Napier will morph into Norvell.
Ole Miss lost to Kentucky and LSU…. But they’re playing some other best football right now. Sucks though that Ole Miss had an open week last week though.
Billy Napier has steadfastly rebuilt the culture at UF which has been in shambles since Urban Meyer broke it. The character of his players and their talent will win many games. The players love him and they obviously know something that the naysayers don’t.
Like i asked this bozo on Facebook at the beginning of the year, what can Mertz do that Lagway can't do better? 🤣🤣 He should've been starting out the gate

7 - 5 will give Indication of Development in Coaching and Players. 6 - 6 will not be acceptable and Require Coach Change. Though I was Impressed but we can't afford to think we have arrived
UF has Billy/Lagway for 2 more years at a lower Head coach salary than our piers. Put savings into players for Lagway.
so the game against Ole Miss is an away game?
No. It's in Gainesville, but the Rebels have had a week off to prepare for the Swamp (just as Texas had.....yikes).
Ole miss game is in Gainesville
52-20 🐊🙏😂
What I remember you saying was 8 wins meant Napier deserved a contract extension. 8 wins should have been minimum for a competent coach. We lost to Miami and Tennessee but beat LSU. I think a championship coach would have won all three. Napier has a once in a lifetime QB which will probably save his job. However, UF will waste their only chance to win a championship and as soon as DJ leaves, Napier will morph into Norvell.
If the injury bug didn't hit this team as bad as it has they would be 7-3 right now. Tenn and GA would have been wins.
Lagway victims UK & LSU beat Ole Miss. Shoot out in the SWAMP vs Ole Miss. Upset alert!
Ole Miss lost to Kentucky and LSU…. But they’re playing some other best football right now. Sucks though that Ole Miss had an open week last week though.
As did Georgia and Texas. The SEC wasn’t in the “favor granting” business when they set up Florida’s schedule this season lol.
Great show! Go canes!
