and another 10k potential landlords decide it's too risky and leave the potential rental empty. Good job BC government. Time for government to get out of the rental business and go back to contract enforcements.
I have many clients where we are now liquidating their rentals and some who want to invest outside the province and country. Since the politicians cannot provide enough housing the country relies on landlords for housing. They are making it far too restrictive and complicated which is not good. I appreciate your insights they are spot on. Are you a landlord yourself?
I'm having issues with my landlords cz they refusecto do legal documents when I ask then they use coersive control as well as abuse of authority power & threats , extortion & non legal evictions & non legal rent increase forms but triggering my neurological disorder Epilepsy etc & upsetting my pets they said could have & another tenant died here from accute stress over medicate while waiting for tooth extraction & im widow single mom paying the rent for 8 yrs straight & 2 yrs my self @1800 a month included & they talk down to me after 8 yrs of renting ; said its their rules, their religion , their house. They also stated i had no rights to call bylaw on myself to find out my rights about max pets, when I was calling for me not them. The landlords tried hand writing an eviction notice without any signatures or phone number & its written by illiterate immigrants only been here for 20 yrs i was born here 50 yrs ago. They still refuse to use or fill out the real legal forms for RTB. I sense some big red flags +using 3 alias with the house as well.
@@iamkylemark I've had to extend it over beyond n behind landlords back now cz they personally threatened my child, my money source & my pets with financial black mail & emotional blackmail if I got any 3 rd parties involved in their greed dispute & whatever else gangstlking. I have filed a report with all of my offices that need my info & case file & tenancy suggested I lawyer up as well. While looking for a new pet friendly house live work space.
The province has since changed the notice period last week from 4 month to 3 full notice for vacant possession for a buyer. The 4 month notice is still in play if you are looking to move back into the property for yourself or a close proximity family member. What are your thoughts on these changes? There needs to be a framework so that tenants have protection but the NDP are just punishing home owners at this point and are not doing enough consultation to see what the long term effects will be.
@@iamkylemark Of course. There objective is not uplifting tenants - as they couldn't care less. The objective is misappropriation alone, strictly for their own purposes, good soviet marxist style. Ask me. I lived and breathed their despicable system, yet their non-stop indoctrination did not succeed. It is not that I condone criminal level capitalism, it is always, everywhere, that the golden middle sustains.
I disagree with that completely. If there were no speculators or investors here in B.C. housing would be a disaster and pricing would continue to rise even quicker. The province and the city of Vancouver has done nothing until very recently to build out purpose built rentals. Without investors there would be no housing for people to live in and rent.

Make a phone call to the Residential Tenancy Board and they will be able to advise you of your rights.

The “province overstepped their authority” … You are hilarious.
Do you agree or disagree I can’t tell!

All they do is punish. They should stop obstructing lives. Nobody hired them for that.

Time for NDP to go
I agree!!
Investors 😂 you mean greedy speculators who have destroyed Canadian Real Estate. NDP is doing the right things which will improve affordability.
