  • Night diving wrecks in Chuuk Lagoon, Central Pacific.
Night diving on the Shinkoku wreck in Chuuk Lagoon offers amazing corals, in particular the soft corals were every colour imaginable while we dived and the rich marine life made for simply awesome diving. For 70 years, these wrecks and artefacts have been sheltered at the bottom of a clear blue lagoon and here you can dive amongst the largest ship graveyard in the world. The preserved items include gas masks, human skulls and metal bullets - as well as personal photographs belonging to wartime victims. The lagoon was Japan's main base during the second world war, but in 1944, U.S. forces launched a fatal attack - sinking more than 60 Japanese warships and 250 planes. The body of water, formally known as Truk Lagoon, is now considered to be one of the top wreck diving destinations in the world and for good reason. The conditions of the wrecks are outstanding, the visibility is good, the marine life and corals are rich and ever growing. This is simply a top top place to dive! www.originaldiv...
