🚨 I forgot to mention you should go ahead and download your sales report. You won’t have access to it after the app closes. I got my email almost immediately.
I actually didn't feel that shocked by the shut down but the lack of notice was shocking. I think the kids clothing market is tough - I sold on their but the sales were few and far between
I think some sellers had a lot more success than others. Like my Scout friends who only sold on kid. Many of them were making 10 to 20 +sales per day. This was their full-time job, selling for clients.
I stopped listing on Kidizen a long time ago, just too slow for me. I list on Posh, Mercari, Ebay, Trend Blend & Depop. On Depop yes you can send offers now & it's not just vintage that sells there. I've sold nwt clothing & jewelry there too.
well sadly for me kidizen had never stopped for me and october was truly a turn around and sales were great there! posh was AWESOME for me when they changed the fees, I know it wasnt for everyone, but since they went back it has been absolutely terrible. Just a lot of changes and loss of sales at once is stressful.
I am not THAT serious of a Kidizen seller but I too was making sales every month and more importantly that was my app of choice to BUY stuff for my own kid. I immediately thought of you when I saw the announcement - I think I remember at one point you saying that you post everything to Kidizen first and then crosspost to other platforms. I can't wrap my mind around why it had to be so abrupt. Hopefully there is some back story that comes out eventually.
yeah sales were pretty terrible there in the recent history - outside of this month. I am going to miss the ease of having a collection and finding AMAZING deals both for my kids AND to flip! I bought a Faherty sweater for $12 the other day. Bright side for me is two of my kiddos have basically outgrown the app. I will miss the community and kidconomy too. It is just so sad but I am more angry for my friends who relied on it to pay their bills and how abruptly they did it. It just wasnt right to those Scouts.
@@Ohyeahrachie oh and I only listed to kidizen first bc their software was ancient and using LP to cross list TO there always glitched and I couldn’t have shipping costs. I’ll list to posh first now!
It was wild! I got an alert someone added something to their cart so I went to make an offer and it said, see homepage. Ugh! I just had a $150 sales last week so immediately cashed out! Kidizen was sloowww for me but I sell on Shopify, Poshmark, Mercari and eBay so I am good but feel bad for those that have this as a primary platform. I agree that had they given notice, some serious sales would have happened! Thanks for the video! 😊
Hi Amanda, I saw this same day notice yesterday. Kidizen should have given more notice. They could have asked for their sellers feedback. I would have suggested that they expand to an all age marketplace such as Poshmark, Mercari, eBay, Depop, etc. or they could have sold to a buyer with a vision. I tried listing and couldnt about 6 weeks ago. Maybe this was why. I had heard that Poshmark was going to do something similar to the style scouts but havent heard any updates.Take care.
It is just so crazy they didnt want that extra burst of money by giving notice? Why? I wish we had the whole story! Why didnt they sell it? So many questions.
Thanks for the shoutout! And just make sure when import from Poshmark to Curtsy to select buyer pays shipping 😅 or if you know you are doing free shipping that’s good too🤣 also yes send offers. Super easy! haha sad for KIDIZEN to drop the ball on closing!
Yes I clicked yes to free shipping bc I do price my items on posh 20% higher than I want to make. We shall see!! I still cannot believe how shady it was of them. AND they lied in an interview someone posted on the new group saying they made it smooth for the sellers.
@@AmandaPruittif you get likes on stuff on curtsy and you have free shipping check the weight they have it at before you send an offer. You can’t adjust the shipping after the item sells and I’ve been out some money because they had auto listed things way heavier than they actually are. I messaged customer service about it and they said there’s nothing that can be done after it sells.
@@hausofdezi I did notice that! BUT I was able to toggle to have not free shipping under the import area and assumed it would change just new items that it imports but instead it changed my entire closet which is what I wanted!
I was bummed to see the email yesterday. I didn’t sell on there, but did just buy some awesome mystery bundles from tea collection on there earlier this month that I was excited to potentially buy more.
I just joined Kidizen using your code a month ago cuz you spoke so highly of it. I didn't have any success but the announcement was a unprofessional how they handled it, and apparently LP knew for awhile and couldn't say either. Curtsy has been like one sale a mo for me, and every time i try to connect my closet it imports tons of sold items so I dont do it that way anymore.
so unprofessional :( i am just ready for a fresh new month with lots of sales from any platform. posh was so great until it wasnt. cross listing a lot more of my items this week to ebay and taking a ton to BST to just try and finish this year with a new strategy and clean slate.
Honestly, it was the worst performing platform for me. I do sell a lot of kids' clothes, and I do so much better on Ebay and Posh. I was considering putting my store on vacation mode for November - December and focus on my other platforms, but it just worked out by itself.
I was definitely a community type app - I sold a LOT to my online friends I have made there over the years. I alway made between $100-$500 a month so I am thankful for it for sure, but I wont miss it other than the ease of searching higher end kids stuff as a buyer.
I send offers on Curtsy all the time and sometimes they accept or counter with good offers. It’s a nice back up selling platform. I sell mostly jeans over there. Not very many sales but I’d say at most 3 a month. I’d say don’t rely on it, but it’s just nice to have as an option. 😊
I may I ask a ? I've been a reseller for 7 years n never heard of curtsy? I did a little research last night. I have a note phone android so it sounds like app is only on iPhone. BUT CAN I SELL ON CURTSY JUST ON THE COMPUTER? N HOW DO YOUR ITEMS GET SEEN DO YOU HAVE TO RELIST? TO KEEP THEM CURRENT? THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
@ hi! I don’t have much info other than I downloaded the app on my iPhone and that’s how I was able to export my posh closet and then I logged in on the the website and I can see my closet
I actually am using this as an opportunity to try out Depop. I had Ebay, Poshmark, Mercari, and Kidizen. I wanted to try Depop but four felt like enough. I might try Curtsy too, but I'm working on my Depop crosslisting to start. I didn't know they had Kids available.
I have heard bad depop stories so definitely let us know how it goes! I feel like trendy vintage stuff may do well over there but buyers can "buy" and never pay and thats a common thing?
@@AmandaPruitt I have heard that people can make offers, you accept, and then they have to accept again to complete the sale. I'm planning to not consider it a sale until I'm paid and shipping out. I've also heard of people being very selective and "curating" their closet...but I'm just going to roll the dice and crosslist everything. The good news is that kidizen wasn't high volume for me, so there's not much to replace :)

I sell on depop. What you're referring to is going through your store to each item, tapping Edit and then submitting without changing anything. This does boost your item up in search, as it resets the date on the listing. Once I started doing this it improved my sales there. I think buyers also feel more nervous to buy something that was last updated a month ago or more, probably worried the seller isn't even on the app anymore and won't ship.
I am a PM only seller (for now) but added curtsy a while ago and I have sold a few items here and there with zero effort from me. It’s kind of nice.. probably about $100 a month but hey! That’s two tanks of gas! They do get weird if you don’t open the app every once in a while, they’ll basically put your closet to sleep. But my fav thing is that with smaller sales the funds are available as soon as the package is scanned in at the post office! This kidizen thing as well as the erratic fee changes for PM has me ready to finally start crosslisting. I’m back and forth between Vendoo and List Perfectly. Anything you can say to push me to LP?
