Key Terms in the Coffee Processing Journey:
Harvesting: The process of picking ripe coffee cherries from coffee trees. Typically, this method is done manually by plucking the coffee cherries from the trees.
Hulling: This stage involves the removal of the outer layer of coffee cherries, known as husk or parchment skin. This can be done using wet or dry processing methods, depending on the coffee processing technique.
Cleaning: The process of removing dirt, stones, and other foreign objects from the peeled coffee beans. This is done to maintain the cleanliness of the beans before the next stage.
Fermentation: This stage is usually associated with the wet processing method, where coffee beans are soaked in water to remove mucilage and residual fruit. Fermentation alters the composition of coffee beans.
Drying: Cleaned and peeled coffee beans are then dried. This can be done through sun drying or mechanical drying. The aim is to reduce the moisture content in the coffee beans.
Sorting: Dried coffee beans can be sorted to separate defective or otherwise undesirable beans. This can be done manually or with machines.
Milling: A process that involves selecting dried coffee beans, removing the final layer, and sorting the beans. The result is green coffee beans ready for packaging and shipment.
Packaging: The process of packaging green coffee beans in suitable bags or containers for distribution worldwide.
Roasting: This is a crucial stage in the coffee processing process. Green coffee beans are roasted in roasting machines to develop the distinct flavor and aroma of coffee.
Grinding: Roasted coffee beans are then ground to the desired fineness, depending on the brewing method to be used.
Brewing: The process of steeping coffee in hot or boiling water to produce the coffee beverage. There are various brewing methods, including filtration, espresso, aeropress, and others.
Enjoying: The final stage is when coffee is served and enjoyed by consumers. It's the moment to savor the carefully processed flavors and aromas of coffee.

Suara hostnya kayak Karni Ilyas. Baanyak Eu-nya, tapi keren lah.
