Thanks for not only not piling on along with so many others, but doing what you can to boost Will. It's really hurtful to see people sniping at a guy who's not only amazingly talented and hard-working, but has done, from what I can see, everything he can to be honest with everyone including the public, and to live a useful, constructive, ethical and positive life, even under extremely difficult circumstances (and don't even try it-- being rich and famous is no insulation against pain for any human being. Way to be constructive/supportive to folks who deserve nothing less!
I so worry about his mental health. People have questioned his “softness” for decades now because he didn’t perform “gangsta rap” and kept it fun and clean. It’s only so much a person can take. I hope he knows how much his real fans appreciate him.
Whatever what people say, Will Smith is still black excellence : looks, swag and charisma through the roof 🔥 We were lucky to watch him do his thang for 30 years
The part where it says summertime is a is a reference to previous song that has the fresh Prince with DJ Jazzy Jeff the summertime wish it was a big head 1991

Nas said that's just a rumor and said he saw Will write the song himself. He said he suggested a few lines, which is why he has writing credits on a few of Will's songs, but Will pretty much wrote his own lyrics...
Nas didn't write for Will Smith. This is what Nas said. Alright, let’s clear this up once and for all. I hung out with Will in the studio. And watched him write it. It was a fun studio session, and I said a line or two or three to him. It wasn’t that serious. Will Smith wrote that song. But seriously, I watched him have fun making that record on his own, and Will is a true MC,” Nas says.
You all miss so much is so many of your reactions…because instead of listening and then reaction, you keep running yoir mouths. it’s actually the funnest part…😂
I respect that Will could always rap without cussing or being vulgar.
(And I grew up on gangsta rap)
And does it well! I miss battle MCs. They can do amazing things on the mike.
He was around 29/30 when this came out.

Beautifully stated!
The beat he is using in this song, comes from a 1979 song by Sister Sledge called “He’s The Greatest Dancer”
I don't care what people say his albums slapped and i still listen to his albums
Rain and Potnas...ooh.

Yeah, I hate that people try to rewrite history as if Will Smith wasn't getting clowned for years by the black community...
This is low-key a bop
Right!!

I still love this song, especially the chorus.
